Journal Description :REDES is an academic journal, which has been published since 1996, it is vinculated to the Post Graduation Program (Master's and Doctoral Degree) in Regional Development - PPGDR / UNISC, and its Regional Development Research Center - CEPEDER. Redes accepts theoretical and empirical nature articles that approach the processes of regional development through reflections and analysis about its different aspects and dimensions, such as the understanding of territorial dynamics, considering the different scales of action and analysis of socio-spatial processes, the historical-cultural diversity of the territory, the strategies and instruments of territorial planning and management, in the different dimensions of sustainability involved; the study of institutional capacities at its various levels, to take initiative, mediate and regulate territorial management processes; the analysis of conflicts, tensions and the production of consensuses between public power and social agents; and analysis of regional productive activity with emphasis on agents and social and economic organizations, forms of cooperation and conflicts, configured in different modes of organization of production and the market, among others. REDES adopts the peer review mechanisms, characterizing itself as an academic publication. The articles received are first reviewed by the editorial committee and, if they respect the standards for publication and are aligned with the themes of interest, they follow to a double-blind review process in which the identity of both the reviewer and the author are hidden from both parties. The review system has been composed of two external reviewers that are chosen according to the theme and the article's focus for blind evaluations. The result of the evaluation of the referees can be presented in four ways: (1) Accepted article; (2) Revisions required; (3) Resubmit for review; (4) Declined article. If there are divergent opinions, the articles will be sent to a third partner. REDES counts on a database of referees organized by themes related to regional development, and its recruitment follows the editorial policy that combines invitations to researchers from Brazil and abroad. The journal Redes offers prompt and free access to its content, following the belief of providing free scientific knowledge to the public is to provide greater global democratization of knowledge. Submissions are made through the journal's webpage, with no article processing fees for the author.
