Journal Description :“Glocalism” is a peer-reviewed, open access and cross-disciplinary journal that aims at stimulating increasing awareness and knowledge around the new dynamics that characterise the glocal reality. A journal on glocalization that corresponds with the very concept of being glocal and wants to be recognised in a cultural-academic context can only be available on-line. This refers to the ease with which it can be consulted and used by a potentially broad base of users on a global scale, the simplified editorial management, and not least for the possibility it affords to generate debate and discussion far more easily on the questions that will be dealt with from time to time. That is why “Glocalism” is hosted by a website with several features, such as some social media, which have not to be considered part of the journal, but just tools to discuss its issues. So as to elicit as much on-line discussion as possible among academics, each edition of the journal will a) deal with a main subject and b) be characterised by research essays (received after the call for papers and subjected to double-blind peer-review). In relation with the main topic, the journal could be characterised by c) one or two leading articles (written on an invitation only basis, by leading academics of international standing). In addition, d) a space for general articles on globalization, glocalization and international affairs will be offered in each issue. As “Glocalism” is a four-monthly journal, three issues will be published annually: at end-March, end-July, end-November. The publication of each issue is preceded by the publication of the Call for papers for the following monographic issue. The journal complies to the COPE Core Practices for Journal Publishers. It is identified by an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) and each its article carries a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which serves as a unique electronic identification tag. Every article published in “Glocalism” is numbered from page 1, so that there is no hierarchical order in the journal; hence there is no usual table of contents. All the articles are published without publication fees and are freely available online. They are published under the liberal Creative Commons Attribution License. The author holds the copyright and retains publishing rights without restrictions.
