Madras Agricultural Journal is a pioneer in agricultural publication initiated in the year 1913 in the then Madras Presidency of Pre- independent India. The Journal published articles from 5 major states including state of Andhra Pradesh, almost all of Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha. Currently, the 110 year old journal is well established and serves as a scientific platform to publish national and international research papers.
Madras Agricultural Students Union (MASU) is the proud publisher of MAJ started in 1911, was registered as a Society in 1923 (Registration No.1/1923 -24).Several distinguished agricultural research scientists from Southern India, including Dr. M.S.Swaminathan, have served as members and officials in MASU. Presently (2023), MASU has 760 life members, 37 annual members, and 27 institutional members from various parts of the country besides ~4500 student members.
The MAJ follows strict peer review, ethics, and malpractice policy for more than 110 years. It is noteworthy to mention that the Journal has a citation of ~ 50,000. Madras Agricultural Journal seeks Research and Review articles confined to the fields listed below for publication with the Target audience as students, researchers, and academics. The publisher being students’ centric and non-profit organization and is committed to the availability of scholarly research articles and review articles accessible by every researcher and the general public. The journal and back volumes are completely open access.
