Journal Description :This journal publishes case reports on any healthcare context clearly overlapping with Infectious Diseases and their related areas, thereby aiming a multiprofessional and interdisciplinary scope focused on infectious complications of any medical specialty or area of expertise. The open-access and free articles will be continuously and sequentially published in the INFECTIOUS DISEASES IN EVIDENCE - Case Reports Journal, always in Portuguese and English. The authors are not responsible for any expenses related to the submission (including the appropriate translation into English or Portuguese) or the publication itself. The peer review strategy includes the Editorial Board and ad hoc volunteer reviewers, who are responsible for technically and scientifically validating the manuscripts, as well as suggesting improvements or even rejecting them, as long as acceptable and duly justified. In this process, all parties will remain in communication while maintaining the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. Regarding ethical aspects, the INFECTIOUS DISEASES IN EVIDENCE - Case Reports Journal adopts the international guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics - COPE. Since all Case Reports are considered “research involving humans”, the journal also requires the prior declaration of awareness and authorization by the host institution of each case report and the approval of the Brazilian National Research Ethics Commission (Comissão Nacional de Ética em Pesquisa – CONEP) based on Resolution 466/12 and other specific or similar regulations. All articles in the INFECTIOUS DISEASES IN EVIDENCE - Case Reports Journal are published under the terms of international license 4.0 of the Creative Commons Attribution, which allows users to freely read, download, share and adapt cultural and scientific productions, provided that due credit is given to the original authors and publication. PS - since it's an electronic Journal, the "Journal Cover" attached corresponds to one of our already published articles.
