Journal History
The first issue of the journal was published in May 2004 as a peer-reviewed one. The first editor of the journal was Dr. HomaZanjanizadehEzazifrom 2004 to 2007. The second editor was Dr. Mohammad MazloumKhorasani from 2007 to 2009. The third editor of the journal was Dr. Rampour Sadr Nabavi from 2009 to August 2012. The fourth editor was Dr. Mohammad MazloumKhorasani from 2012 to 2013. The fifth editor was Dr. Ali Yousefi, who started work from the second issue of the tenth year, in 2013 and is the current editor of the journal.

Aim and Perspective
The biannual FUM Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed journal with the mission of publishing original works on social sciences and related areas. Regarding the mission, the journal focuses on novel empirical researches that apply theoretical, conceptual and methodological innovations and warmly welcomes papers addressing the following issues:
1. The empirical studies of social processes and consequences of economic policies and development plans both in micro and macro level.
2. Theoretical innovations which help to open new horizons in analyzing socio-cultural changes.
3. Methodological innovations in social studies regarding different mixed approaches.
4. Interdisciplinary studies that compose different insights to give novel explanations for social problems.
5. Case studies with particular theoretical and methodological implications.
Peer Review Process:
All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review and are expected to meet standards of academic excellence. Each submission will be considered by an editor and—if not rejected outright—by 3 peer-reviewers, whose identities will remain anonymous to the authors. Author identities will also remain anonymous to JSScreviewers.
The aim of the review process is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the article, in terms of originality, interest, up-to-dateness, coherence, and balanced argumentation. As such, all manuscripts submitted to JSSc go through a two-step double-blind peer review process.
The editor(s) of the journal first review(s) each manuscript to see if it meets the basic requirements for articles published in the journal (i.e., that it reports on original research or presents original content that links to previous research, theory, and that it is of sufficient quality to merit external review). Technical checks will also be made to see if manuscripts follow JSSc Editorial Style, the APA reference style (6th edition), and other JSSc standards (especially ethical ones). Manuscripts which do not meet these requirements are not sent out for further review, and their authors will be notified.
Following the internal review, submissions which meet the basic requirements and the bottom-line standards set by JSScare sent out for doubly-masked peer review (by 2 experts in the field) either from the journal's editorial panel or from our larger list of reviewers. Following the external review, the authors are notified of the decision (accept as is, accept pending changes, revise and resubmit, or reject) and can track the process of peer review and submission via:http://jm.um.ac.ir/index.php/societal/
Open Access Policy
All articles of the Journal are Open Access. Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Journal of Social Sciences are fully compliant with open access mandates, by publishing its articles under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Copyright
Under open access license, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their content, but allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy the content as long as the original authors and source are cited properly.
Article Processing Charge
here is no pre-publication or submission charge. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors are required to pay 3,500,000 Rials for the costs arising from for peer review management and journal publication.
