In this paper we present the reasoning of our our author´s innovative concept The educational social work, characterizes the social reality of people in the postmodern age which creates a new identity of social work and a new identity of social client. We based on the assumption that the most effective ways and means of social help is lifelong learning and social education of adults. Justifies the inclusion of the educational social work in the system of social work as the science and emphasize the practical necesity of educational social help to adults.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to know and control our emotions and the emotions of other people, that nurse encounters while performing her profession. She applies it in a primary, secondary and follow-up care to both individuals and the community. Emotional intelligence consists of five basic components such as: self-control, self-awareness, self-esteem, social skills, and empathy. It is important to develop this personality factor in the pre-graduate and continuous education of nurses.

The article point to the need of social help of clients with the disability. The client with the disability have the problems with the mobility. The mobility is the basic problem that prevent client with disability socialization. In the article describe the basic the mobility aids that are specified for the clients with disability for the mobility improvement.

Every child should grow up in a family, at least in substitutional,if not biological one. This contribution is aimed on responsibilites of specific Office of Labour, Social Affairs and family during mediating substitutional family care between child and the requester in regards to age difference. The specific Office of Labour, Social Affairs and family, which is located in every regional town in Slovakia leads a list of requesters for aupair care or adoption. In addition, it also leads a list of children that grow up in foster houses and were assigned to the list of children, who needs to be mediated a substantional family care by form of aupair care or adoption. The requesters for substantional care and for adoption have a various age structure.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease characterized by demyelination of axons and functional changes in central nervous system. Lesions resulting from demyelinating processes lead to symptoms which have negative effect on quality of life in patients and involve wide range of limitations like fatigue, visual issues, movement and cognitive problems. The aim of this study is to get a clearer picture about cognitive capacity and attention and their association with physical and mental quality of life (PCS, MCS) in SM patients. Study sample consisted of 155 patients (75.5% women), who filled in SF-36 questionnaire (for measuring physical and mental quality of life) and underwent neurological examination with PASAT (aimed at assessing cognitive capacity of information processing and attention). PASAT did not show significant association with PCS, but explained 5% of variance in MCS. This information may be used in creating non-pharmacological intervention programmes aimed at improving mental quality of life in SM patients.

Surgical therapy are usually associated with negative psychological survival of the patient. A nursing care provided by nurses also affects the reduction of fear in surgical patients. It is based on a rigorous assessment of the patient and the subsequent establishing of nursing diagnoses. One of the most frequently diagnosed nursing diagnoses in patients in surgical therapy is Fear. The article presents the characteristics of this nursing diagnosis, its determinants and related factors, assessment tools useful in the diagnosis of fear, as well as the expected results and nursing interventions related to the reduction of fear in the patient in surgical therapy.

Currently the trend of aupair care or adoption is rising in popularity. These are the two forms of substitute family care, which enables us to adopt children who were for some reason placed in constitutional facilities. The aim of this study or contribution is to address the forms of substitute family care, their differenciacion and certain problems that arise with them. Applicants for foster parenthood, who meet all the legal conditions for getting signed up to the list of applacants wait to adopt a child appropriate to their requirements. One of the most crucial requirements is a form of foster parenthood. They can choose a form of adoption or aupair care during psychological preparation at specific Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family. This article compares adoption and forest parenthood in accordance with law and practice as well as from the view of applicants for forest parenthood. A secondary data analysis applied to the specific Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family Bratislava displays a difference in preference of adoption and aupair care in Bratislava region for the past 5 years.

The cognitive distortions of pathological gambling issue we can classify in the propose psychological-psychoanalytic theory and cognitive-subjective theory of pathological gambling. The cognitive distortions are the phenomenon that frequently occur in the individual with the different typs of disorder. On the basis of the result of the foreign studies results content analysis of pathological gamblers are the cognitive distortion very often occur.

Shift work can impact quality of life, psychological and physical health, family relationships, alertness, circadian rhythms and work performance. In modern societies, night work has been recognized as one of the most prevalent occupational factors of the working population in Europe. Night shift work has been thought to play a role in the etiology of chronic diseases and an increased risk of errors and negative patient outcomes through a disruption of the circadian rhythm. Several epidemiology studies to indicate that night shift work over time can contribute to significant health risks for nurses. There is a growing a relationship between nurse night shift work and increased risk of cardiovascular, metabolic or gastrointestinal diseases. Employers and nurses need to know and to create preventive programs that help to prevent negative health risks associated with night shift work.

For the pathological gambling specification in the global dimension is necessary taking interculturally differences into consideration of the particular continent and countries. The highest problem gambling prevalence was detected in the American, European and Asian continent. There are lots of pathological gambling Instruments that are valid but it is absent from our conditions considerably. In the diagnostics we distinguish adolescent and adult population because of the adolescent period is high-risk and we must adjust the criteria for the diagnostic determination to specific adolescent characteristics.

The article deals with the design of a research, which we will subsequently conducti any economic sector. It focuses on key aspects of responsibility which can be identified in basic strategic documents, such as company mission, vision and corporate values. The procedure can be used for comparison with other sectors in economy, or it can be used to determine the level of a strategic match between the CSR activities and the core business. As with corporate strategy, continuity is of a high importance for a CSR strategy as it can contribute to the perception of honesty by selected interest groups.

Contribution offers a view of experts in the field of social work for the adoption of the Act of Social Work and its application in practice. We also deal with the role of the Professional Chamber of Social Workers and the reflection on its establishment. We will refer the development of social work in Slovakia in the context of the adoption of this law, the reason for the creation of the Chamber of Social Workers and Assistants of Social Work and its functioning. In the paper, we present some data related to the expectations of social workers in terms of strengthening their social status as well as possible prospects for membership in the Chamber of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants.

Poukážeme na vývoj sociálnej práce na Slovensku v kontexte prijatia uvedeného zákona, dôvodom vzniku komory sociálnych pracovníkov a asistentov sociálnej práce a jej fungovanie. V príspevku taktiež sprostredkujeme niekolko údajov súvisiacich s ocakávaniami sociálnych pracovníkov v rámci posilnenia ich sociálneho statusu ako aj možným perspektívam vzhladom k clenstvu v komore sociálnych pracovníkov a asistentov sociálnej práce.

Social support is a measure of assistance in overcoming the unfavorable social situation that may arise due to illness, severe disability, reaching retirement age and is considered one of the most important defense factors of human health.

Adults satisfy their need for self-fulfillment in the professional area. It often happens that disability reduces ones opportunities to find a job. An identity crisis occurs, for example, when a person takes up a job. It is therefore very important to create conditions for the establishment of sheltered workshops and sheltered workplaces for citizens with disabilities as employment policy instruments in Slovakia and Poland.

Sensory integration is the ability of the brain to properly process incoming stimuli in a way that enables the person to create so-called adaptive response. Sensory integration dysfunctions manifest as difficulties in behavior, motor skills and other areas. The article of PaedDr. Jana Hrcová, Ph.D. focuses on sensory processing disorder in children with autism spectrum disorder, describes the consequences of this disorder, and proposes possible solutions for the area of sensory perception; with emphasis on A. Jean Ayres´s sensory integration therapy.

There exists only the good or bad social work, not the Christian and non-religious one. The article tries to identify thematic areas in theology, where it could be beneficial to social work. It is mainly about the Christian motivation of social workers. Another area is the proposition of social services including spiritual dimension, in case the service recipient asks for it. At the same time, theology can point out to the need for critical thinking when looking for solutions to specific social problems.

Current topics of supervision in practice Supervision in Slovakia has reached a solid position and its practice is considered an effective tool to search for and utilize potential and innovation for a high quality of work with clients. Supervision has a legislative support in social services and has been carried out for couple of years. Current state of social services creates space for resolving topical issues of supervision in practice for workers and organizations providing this type of service. These issues serve as a mirror reflecting what it is like to work in social services, how the management functions and what the position of social services in the society is. There are many legal conditions that organizations providing social services must follow and accept so that the quality of the service is in accordance with European standards which are implemented also in recent legislation. Current topics which are communicated by supervisees indicate that conditions required for meeting the quality standards are not equal and they do not reflect actual state within organizations especially in public services. We will introduce some issues which are frequently discussed and analyzed so that we can outline the actual state of social services from the perspective of supervisors, supervision and supervises.

The general aim of the research article is the summarization and completion the qualitative findings of the violence againts slovak women problems from the social work practice point of view. In the methodology of the research article was used qualitative research strategies. We concentrate on the analysis of the family aspects and social aspects. The main aim of the examine the family aspects was finding the connection between factors and distinctiveness fo the original family and their members and between experience of the torture in the later period. The main aim fo the examine the social aspects was finding connection between causes and consequences of the social isolation, social-psychological symptomatology and between the consequences of the social izolation of the mistreated women. The research sample consists of the 20 participants - mistreated women in the age from 23 to 65 age that was clients of the crisis centre in the region of Bratislava. It was analyze 5 cases studies of the mistreated women, too. The research methods was the content analysis and structured interview. The results of the research shown that multiple family and social connection that are connect with the violence againts women problems are significant.

Was seted multiple quantitative research aims that was connect with the age, frequency, intimate violence occurrence, employment of mistreated women, ability to make decision of mistreated women, medical intervention, quantity of mistreated women childs and drawing criminal responsibility of the torture men. The research sample consists of the women that are the victims of the tortured men, in quantity 88. The research methods was the questionnaire of our contruction. The results of the research shown that multiple family and social connection that are connect with the violence againts women problems are significant.

In the paper, we present an excursion to the period when the scientific area of social work and the university study of social work in the Slovak Republic were formed. We identify the initiators of the development of social work in Slovakia. We define scientific and professional initiatives and activities of university workplaces in the context of the development of social work.

Paper focuses on the constructs of motivation to learn, namely on correlation between deep and surface motive, academic self-efficacy and school success of students. Theory and research distinguishes two types of school success. The first is heteronomy rating - arithmetic mean of learning outcomes assessed by the teacher. The second is autonomous or subjective evaluation of school success of the students assessed by themselves. The research was applied on a sample of high school students (second and third grade) of the Slovak Republic. The paper describes theoretical and empirical perspectives on motivation to learn and self - efficacy in terms of several foreign experts. Aim of the research is to verify the correlation between self - efficacy, motivation to learn and the educational success of students in adolescence. Research has found significant correlation between self - efficacy, deep motives and school success of students.

The following submission revolves around the social counseling as one of the solutions of upbringing problems. It is coinceived in a theoretically-empirical manner, while the point of the research is to indentificate which of the factors of social counseling and family enviroment take part in the solution of upbringing problems. Data in this research was acquired by analysis of scripts detailing psychological counseling services. The research consits of submissions of 109 clients and one of the primary conclusions is the discovery of the fact that the main point of counseling is fulfilled when the client cooperates with a counselor, when the family practises an ardent way of upbringing, when parents spend their free time with their children and last but not least, when education is used as one of the methods of social counseling.

The study reflects the results of quantitative sociological research aimed at examining the needs of families with a child with specific needs. The results confirm that families with children with disabilities have specific living conditions that affect all aspects of life compared to other families. At the same time, the results present needs that would have an impact on improving the quality of life of these families. At the same time, the challenge is to provide systematic and effective assistance to these families.

Community organizations with their community centers play a critical role in building linkages among people and giving voice to vulnerable groups (mostly from Roma minority). Two decades after the separation from Czechoslovak republic, there were more than 32000 non-profits and more than 100 community centers established in Slovakia. In this paper the principles of community work in Slovakia in the last 15 years are identified, the role of community centers is described, but also their changes and challenges are analysed. Based on that, particular facilitators as potential solutions can be proposed to overcome those barriers in future.

Our research was focused on, how does the integration process of Muslim migrants into the german society looks like. Goal of research was inspect the whole integration process including risks that might come with integration. To map this phenomenon, we used our respondents, who are doctors and medics working in Federal Republic of Germany and, who are regularly in touch with Muslim migrants from countries, where Islam is dominant religion. In total we were able to connect with four respondents using electronical communication. Respondents were answering questions, related to inspected phenomenon. Reactions of respondents were analysed through the method of open coding in detail. Result of these research was in total eight individual, well satisfied topics, connected to explored phenomenon. Using analyse we were succesfull in describing migration process including impacts, that affect this phenomenon and icluding risks, that might come with integration of migrants, who are so different in cultural and religious way of life. Results were subsequently discussed with available theoretical resources.

The paper focuses on the psychological aspects of attracting new target groups in adult education. In the individual parts of the paper, we identify and explain the three basic psychological starting points that we consider important in the process of attracting adults for their education: 1. Change of knowledge of an adult human. 2. The person of adult man. 3. Educational motives for adults.

Hospice and palliative care in the Republic of Poland Progress, modernity, success, and ever better and more comfortable life are the signs of modern civilization. Just as throughout the centuries, participation of people with regards to their health and disease, terminal illnesses, and death is important at the present time as well. The author of the article defines palliative and hospice care in the Republic of Poland. She describes a multidisciplinary team delivering this care, as well as clients, family, and support groups.

The contribution examines the institute of pornography as a companion social phenomenon. The author devotes space to a historical excursion, theories explaining pornography, child pornography and related criminal offenses, the consequences of consuming pornography, and legal regulation of pornography.

This thesis describes the results of research that was aimed at the relation of attachment and sibling position. The first phase of the research involved a questionnaire for people above the age of 17. Using a sample of 100 participants, I collected the data and tested the hypotheses. The questionnaire consisted of 36 questions, which focused on experiencing close relationships. The findings from the research suggest that the effect of sibling position on attachment was increased, when the child‘s position was altered. The results (or)- the last phase of the research - provids support for the key arguments and offers an insight into human understanding of relationships. I conclude that the relation of attachment and sibling position is significant.

The paper presents a new perspective on emotions and emotional coping, as presented in Leahy’s theory of emotional schemas and emotional regulation. The first part explains the position of the schema’s construct within known psychological approaches and understanding of emotions that were the main inspiration for Leahy’s theory. Next, basic terms and themes (areas) are explained that the author also deals with in his concept, definition of emotional schemas, description of their dimensions and their relations with individual’s emotional health. Conclusion specifies the novelty of Leahy’s approach and how it extends and completes the existing and similar concepts.

Particular challenges and barriers stand in the way of both community engagement and involvement in Slovakia. Looking more closely to a practice of community work in neighborhoods and communities (built very often by disadvantaged groups), these barriers significantly affects community development work and its function. The study points to the bibliotherapeutic potential of one of the most widespread fiction genres, which is a detective novel. Apart from the obvious relaxation function and the ability to divert the readers attention from therapeutically unwanted thought content or emotional states; its ability to develop creativity, imagination, abstract thinking and communication skills, as well as to strengthen reader´s self-confidence and resilience, are obvious benefits. The detective novel also helps develop the ability of logical and critical thinking, encouraging reader to search for connections between seemingly isolated phenomena. At the level of social interaction, it also helps strengthen his or her confidence as far as values of social coexistence are concerned, such as truth, justice, cooperation, compassion and understanding.

At present the cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) seems to be one of the most efficient treatments for specific phobias. Combination therapy uses more than one modality of treatment. It may compensate for the risks and disadvantages of individual therapeutic approaches. In this article we suggest to use some of the logotherapeutical and hypnotic methods to strenghten the efficacy of CBT. Theoretical bases of the described therapeutical approaches and their potential for treatment and mutual complementarity in the treatment of specific phobias are supported by two case studies.
