The paper presents a retrospective and reflective exercise on the theoretical and methodological approaches used by the author since 2009 and until today, for the study of amateur audiovisual production on Internet or homecasting. Then, points for discussion and proposals are exposed, to contribute for the construction of more effective tools, necessary consensus and discussions regarding approaches that as communication researchers we are applying to phenomena occurring on the Internet.

The paper aims to make an argumentative analysis of metamorphosis evident in the transition from print to electronic, from a symbiosis of elements used to make the scientific production in university organizations. Through a literature review of a bibliographic design traceability of journals that disseminate knowledge by providing visibility, impact and popularity with the academic world in the course of time, taking as reference the socio-historical background that reveals some reasons to be explained changes that have occurred and their impact on the improvement of the material that is published, including number of links received, the chances of downloading content in other languages, meeting frequency, location and ease of formats that allow greater accessibility to users. An inventory of the advantages provided and disadvantages that must be assumed, then take stock of the results obtained during the development stage is also made. Finally, considering that the evolutionary process is seen publications from books to make the changes to the presence of electronic communication networks, it is possible to analyze the birth of memory and dissemination of knowledge to ensure the continued high standards of quality in publications, especially in the university context.

Since the arrival of the Internet, and with it, the digitalization of various contents, the production practices and scientific consumption –among others- found the need to head toward the digital. In the past, the scientific production reached a closed circle of readers, who accessed to it through the direct consult of scientific journals and books. But things have changed and, since some years ago, those in charge of publishing journals face a new challenge: converge their formats and migrate from paper to electronic. In this paper we explain which processes of the scientific journal production are modified facing this changing context, which remain, and the challenges faced by the producers of journals for science dissemination. We present the particular case of the journal Comunicación y Sociedad, from Universidad de Guadalajara.

The new media have been transformed the habits and and format we read. In the transition from the information age to the knowledge age, digital becomes the most important in terms of production and distribution of knowledge asset. The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have evolved by leaps and bounds in many fields. In terms of Human-Computer Interfaces they have created alternatives exponential possibilities regarding the development of new ways to publish and disseminate social content. Technologies such as tablets, interactive features, social networks, augmented reality, Cloud Readers and HTML5 features have enabled experience new ways of approaching knowledge and generate them. It is important to note how they have transformed digital productions through social phenomena, particularly regarding the collaborative production, the transmedia narratives and everything that gives us the collective intelligence network. The convergence of technological, social and cultural impels us to discuss possible scenarios ahead. In this article a review of the most significant milestones resulting from the process of democratization of access to knowledge and the future of digital publications will be made.

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have transformed the reading practices. Specifically, the mobile electronic devices offer a new way to access to the texts with which new strategies, skills, levels and dimensions of reading get involved. The reading involve global, plural, multiple approaches, recently grouped under the name of Literacy. The article’s main objective is to make a journey through the history of the book until the appearance of e-reading, and their social meanings, that point to a unity frame experiences, but also a world that creates new forms of fragmentation and dispersion, in words of Anthony Giddens.

This article presents a review of recent research whose main objective is the analysis of didactic practices mediated by the electronic or digital book. In the second part of this work a case study is developed articulated through the visions of the teacher participating in the «Programa Escuela 2.0» that was centered through the model "One Laptop Per Child" (OLPC) in a preliminary integration of the digital textbook within the teaching-learning processes of a third-grade classroom of primary education. The textbook, hegemonic didactic material in teaching practices has been and is the symbol of authority and the vehicle of transmission of a certain value system. The introduction of e-books in educational settings may imply a paradigm shift, provided that all elements of the educational community adapt to their possibilities. In this way, we intend to project new ways of reading, understanding the screen as a new central space within cultural practices. The provisional results presented an insignificant scope and several obstacles and difficulties in concreting an incorporation of the digital book into the classroom.

Based on a historical review of how has been the evolution between interaction of the teacher and the social use of information, with the advances of technology and their students we are recognizing that the mediating role of the teacher impacts not only in learning but also in the configuration of social structures that become as the knowledge society. The reflective document places on the agenda of social and empirical social studies in the field of education has the need to know how is occurring the rebuilding of educational system to ensure the aspirations of quality. The issue allows us to offer an approach to work the educational use of computers and the Internet, especially now that it’s involving a formal national educational reform process characterized by giving priority to the incorporation of technology education sidestepping the importance of developing skills and digital competences. The reflection is organized from two theoretical premises, the first one places the role of the teacher as a social agent capable of participating in shaping the structures of the knowledge society, the second, the relative power that the teacher has to control reflectively the conditions, resources related to educational use of technology in the context of the current educational model. The theoretical support of both premises are based on the Structuring Theory of Giddens (2011) and the critical perspective of educational technology presented by Fainholc (2000).

The knowledge of the logistic status in the business sector of Jalisco state, it is a need because of its high exports level; this study describes the main problems that affect logistic and the efficiency of Jalisco State; it is referenced to the MAG for being this area with more export business companies. The theory frame is based on the foreign trade as the way to develop the economy of every nation, and the logistic as its cornerstone. The results indicate that there is relationship between logistic and the export efficiency of the Jalisco State; this study describes therefore, the logistics problems in its main nodes, customs, transports and custom brokers. The study identifies that in all nodes, the information does not flue with the speed, accuracy and certainty that all the system need. Because of this, the risk of any decision is risky and costly. The cost approximately of the logistic in Jalisco State is 20 percent, in front of the 8 percent of our commercial partners, according to what the experts said. The main problem is a cultural issue. Every node in the value chain, do not see itself as a part of the system, they do not realize that every inefficiency and abuse affect all the chain, including them and generating high costs to export efficiency of the Jalisco state and of course, the whole country.

Our understanding of communication in virtuality is far from complete, not only due to the richness and complexity of language, but also to the new conditions imposed on us by that modality. The following essay attempts to illustrate, through anecdotal cases, how communication in virtual education can start off from its opposite, which is the lack of communicative awareness. To outline this paradox, we propose the figure of The Telepath, which summarizes the attributes of those who do not recognize the complexity of communication in virtuality, and who take for granted the efficient transmission of their messages, intentions and emotions.

This study, more than being an economic analysis of a market (information and communication technologies, in this case) is a multidisciplinary analysis of the social reconfiguration on its ways of communicating, informing, their social networks and democracy, with the use of information technologies, internet and mobile services. Data is analyzed from the basic economics theory and the argument of sociologist David Carracedo, specialist in digital democracy, whose postulate is applied in the analysis of statistical data of Mexican consumption tendencies of icts, telecommunications and users habits on internet. There are two main object of this article, in one hand is pretended to analyze the inequality of the use and access to icts and telecommunications, as well as study the consequences based on authors work. People with a high income and high quality education; have gotten the chance to use these tools on their please, however the unequal use of these and new technologies keep growing. On the other hand, there is other objective among this article, which is analyze the possibilities and advantages of new communication technologies, as well as some representative examples of the redesign of the public media through internet and the real impact they could generate at the institutional environment.

ICT have stimulate governments to develop new digital strategies such as geoportals, a response to citizens problems using new technologies like Internet. This article proposes to account for the implementation of the geoportal SIGUE VALLARTA, created by the Municipal Economic Development Office. This experience highlights that the adoption of geoportals by local governments allow to innovate on the visualization of geographic information useful to increase competitiveness, improve the quality of public services and minimize costs. However, its use seems to be restricted by the digital divide caused by lack of infrastructure, connectivity and specialized human resources.

International entrepreneurship by Mexicos business sector is basic to the countrys economy via its exports. So far this sector and therefore its economy is highly dependent on the usa market. Most of the products exported by Mexico are sent to that country and manufactured by North American companies located in Mexican territory. This study describes the problems affecting this sector of the Mexican economy and the association between entrepreneur profile and success in international entrepreneurship; this study was conducted in Jalisco, Mexico and is referenced to the mag (Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara), zone with the highest concentration of exporting companies in this state. The theoretical framework of the study is supported by the theory of international trade that supports the economic development of nations from their exports and by the theory of personality that defines the human being as someone in permanent pursuit of goals. The results of the group of entrepreneurs participating in the study show that there is an association between the profile of the entrepreneur and success in international entrepreneurship. According to the results of the group of entrepreneurs participating in the study, these show that there is an association between entrepreneur profile and success in international entrepreneurship, the profile elements directly associated with success in international entrepreneurship are: Drive, Influence and Compliance.

Citizen participation is an issue with growing presence in government activity; as a result, this topic is facing new challenges and opportunities for development. In recent years, citizen participation has put particularly emphasis on the use of new information technologies turning out in electronic participation (e-participation). In this vein, participation is directly tied to new technologies as its best tool. The democratization of Internet and new technologies have established participation as one of the central pillars of Open Government (OG), together with transparency and collaboration (Obama, 2009; Lathrop, D, and Ruma, L, 2010; Lee and Kwak, 2012 ; Meijer, Curtin and Hillebrandt, 2012; Gascó, 2013; Oszlak, 2014).This research analyzes the relationship between participation (focused on e-participation) and Open Government through a literature review as a meta-analysis. The paper shows data and features of OG and participation, including how, who and where it is analyzed, and which are the most used concepts in OG and participation. Thus, the scope of the study about citizen participation within the field of open government becomes clear. Finally, the paper concludes offering some reflections about the new features of citizen participation in an increasingly digitalized context and penetrated by social technologies.

This article explores the conceptual foundations of the discipline to present the characterization of the architecture of Digital Information used in newspaper web portals Colombia.Applied research was based on 2015 with theoretical contributions of Al-Hawamdeh (2002), Middleton (1999), Prax (2000), Scolari (2010), among others, to define the key concepts with which it is characterized near 15 news websites. The method considered two phases of fieldwork. The first, of explanation and verification from three components Information Architecture recognizes fundamental for organizing digital document information (subject cataloging, classification of information and types of interface) and the second selection of newspaper websites.Regarding content validation assessment criteria which the maximum level domain registrations identified three basic concepts used classified: (A) concepts: basic concepts classified reasonable, accurate and functional character to the proposed actions; (B) application: identifying patterns outlined step by step so that they can be followed without further explanation; (C) observation accurately distinguishes differences, features and facts discovered in the data.It was noted that most local newspaper websites categorized in thematic generic menu bar by folksonomies (tags simple classification); home page classified in common units of content such as news, without accurate information criteria and using two digital formats (text and images); and grouped the set of homogeneous thematic news section labeled those pages.

In this article, we present a theoretically discussion about the different discourses in the literature about Digital Media and their impact on the construction of our identities. At first, it is examined the initial work of psychologist Sherry Turkle, compared with her recent books where ends by fetishize the pre-digital culture. We discuss her concept of "Protean Self", in the cyberspace like the Proteus god will have multiple and fragmented identities. But this idea becomes a myth if we adopt a perspective that considers the multiple factors that affect the social construction of identity. Second, we examine the increasing traceability and surveillance of people thanks to the massive data generated by digital platforms. This development could lead us to fetishize the digital culture and invert the myth to a totally identified Self, in which the identity of a person is fully associated with their digital data. Finally, both myths presents particular attributions of authenticity, revealing how malleable and contingent this concept becomes in the development of digital media.

In this document is an approach about of the security that exists on the Internet, presenting cases and statistics about the major threats and actions that have been made by countries to regulate their participation in this network and the readers we find a few recommendations that users can take to improve their experience while there are surfing the Internet.

The idea of freedom prevail on the Internet seems natural, as it has been deeply rooted in the users of the network in the Western world. But dark and quietly remain a series of regulations and advance efforts to put fences on freedoms with some sensible arguments, such as violence against children, but always with a goal of censorship, control, surveillance and regulation.

The article presents a preliminary multidimensional analysis of the dhd-irice case study, which addressed the physical-virtual organizational redesign of the Rosario Institute for Research in Educational Sciences (irice) of the National University of Rosario and the National Council for Scientific Research and Techniques (Argentina). irice sought to improve its visibility on the web and to initiate a process of transformation of the research culture, of publication in Open Access and training of human resources towards a modality of collaborative work and in red. For the study of the case has been applied an analytical model conformed by four integrated dimensions: Social, Institutional, Technological and Textual. It is considered feasible the "Sustainability- dhd", when a process of social validation, a few durability in the time and a growth of the initial socio-technical social is evidenced. From the observed, it is possible to affirm that it has reached a positive social validation of dhd-irice. However, it is necessary to deepen institutional strategies to foster greater cohesion in participation and production in collaborative networks of mediated research and / or extension. This implies improving the conditions of sustainability in relation to scalability and durability. Thus, the involvement of different social groups and the increase of the production of collaborative content will impel irice as a national reference in educational research.

The objective of the research was to present some principles and concepts on which models Smart and Sustainable Cities are based, as well as the relationship it holds with the theoretical elements of inclusive innovation. The study used an exploratory-descriptive approach, and with the support of the Cities in Motion 2016 Index (IESE Business School, 2016) was performed the regional location and comparison of the main Intelligent and Sustainable Cities in the world; taking priority in exposing the situation in Latin America, particularly Mexico. It concludes on the need to create suitable environments for inclusive innovation from the efficient and intensive use of available technologies, so it is necessary to accelerate learning processes, construction and accumulation of technological capabilities; in the conjunction of Intelligent Cities and inclusive innovation as strategies of urban management that allow the social inclusion from the use and appropriation of the TIC as well as the economic development, social and environmental to improve the quality of life and equality of citizenship.

The article presents, from the field of socioemiotics, the analysis of the protest movements united to the media social networks by the disappearance of 43 students of the Normal School of Ayotzinapa, in the municipality of Iguala in Guerrero, Mexico. For the methodology, we used the analysis of the mass media semiotics and the analysis of the contemporary media circulation. We discussed the relationship between social networks, public space and contemporary social movements; the history of Mexican protests articulated with social networks and their effects on social, political and media life; as well as the circulation of the political in the protest movement on the case of the 43 missing students. Finally, the article shows the new types of relations between the collective of citizens, political actors and political institution; conformation of a community in social networks –articulated through a hashtag– accompanied by a community in urban space; and the production of phase changes and descending movements towards social networks through television interventions of actors belonging to the governing political institution. We conclude that these changes and movements are a reaction to the State intervention and vice versa, the political institution had a reaction to the citizen protests. This work shows the possibility of conceptualizing protest movements throughout hypermedia theories.
