Cognitive behavioral therapy can improve self-confident in social interaction that experienced by children. CBT of implementation can be integrated with religious, spirituality, and play therapy. Those have been studied theoretically and practically. There are various advantages in integrating religious, spirituality, and play techniques in cognitive behavioral therapy for early childhood. Thus, the intervention and development of counseli are expected to be more effective and efficient. This article try to explain about integrated religious and spirituality into cognitive behavioral therapy without releasing the element of play for the child.

Nowdays, culture takes a significant role in language teaching and learning. It happens when the universal communication has become the reality that cannot be ignored. The border of countries, in terms of communication, is not relevant anymore. Surely, there will be cross cultural phenomenon when people from different background communicate each other. Hence, need of the learners is not only about their linguistic knowledge, but also the use of language involving cross cultural understanding in real life circumstances. In line with this situation, Indonesia’s 2013 curriculum emphasizes cultural understanding in language teaching and learning. It is expected that the learners have no difficulties in communication which may consist of cultural aspects. Understanding the cultural aspects in communication make them achieve meaningful communication in which the knowledge and the use of language including culture are not separated. This paper discusses information about the relationship between culture and language teaching and learning, the principles of involving culture in language teaching and learning, and the involvement of culture in English subject of 2013 Curriculum as well.

This paper reports the result of a study which aims to argue the previous studies which report that listening through song can help the students to improve the listening comprehension. Listening is one of four integrated skills of learning English which become the most difficult skill for the students. This paper investigates the students’ difficulties in doing listening activity by using song. The students here represent the students of Junior High school, especially private school in remote area. The problems which are mostly and commonly faced by the students while listening are explained further in this paper. As the result, the researcher analyzes the problems may impede the students’ to do the exercises well. Moreover, this paper also gives suggestion which may help the teacher to overcome the students’ problem.

The language acquisition model of a person is one of the most interesting themes to be discussed. Especially the process of obtaining foreign languages, because in addition to the concept of acquisition of the first language in children, also has a linkage, between the process of learning the language to the acquisition of foreign languages. Of course there is a difference between the process of language learning with the process of language acquisition, especially foreign languages. At least the process of acquisition of language can be seen from two sides, namely from the side of the process of obtaining a foreign language in the frame of psycholinguistics and from the side of the process of obtaining foreign languages in the sociolinguistic framework, or in its development can also be seen in the neurolinguistic side that examines the nervous system in the human brain to the process of acquisition foreign language.

This study attempts to investigate: 1) kinds of reading strategies employed by Indonesian senior high school students, 2) whether there is a significant difference between poor and good readers in using reading strategies; and 3) if there is a significant relationship between students’ English reading strategies and reading proficiency. Using descriptive quantitative and correlational design, this research involved 100 twelfth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah PP. Amanatul Ummah, Mojokerto, East Java. They were asked to complete a five-point Likert scale questionnaire comprising 44 reading strategy item and self-assessment rubric on their reading proficiency. To achieve the three goals, the data was analyzed using Principal Component Analysis, Independent Sample t-Test, and Pearson Correlation via SPSS 21. The result revealed eight strategy components named to be memory, elaboration, planning, organization, regulating, social, affective, and compensation. Further analysis showed the significant difference between poor and good readers in using reading strategies with t.value of 5.06 and sig.t.test of .000. The study also discovered a significant correlation between English reading strategies and reading proficiency of.

Discussing education is never finished, there is always something new in the world of education. Education today has the challenge of modernity that makes education must innovate even more Islamic education. Education is not just looking for input is good for the process be graduates (output) is good but how a quality process that makes the product (graduates) were good. Therefore, to answer the challenges of modernity, education must have a strategy to develop education as an input, education as a process and education as a superior product.
