E-learning in Corona time: challenges and solutions

Home-based therapy, that base on haptic-virtual games systems, increases the overall time of the therapy for hemiplegic children. Low cost depth sensors might be needed to evaluate the joint coordinates in order to produce movements. In this study, a body modulation and clinically-based angle calculations for random upper limb movements in 3D space have been created and validated. The shoulder joint flexion-extension angle, shoulder abduction-adduction angle, elbow flexion-extension, wrist flexion-extension angle and wrist abduction-adduction angle has been performed by a subject. KinectTM system and the Vicon motion capture system have been used to measure those movements. Results illustrate a clinically acceptable error of these movements and its angles which around 4.9% for shoulder joint, around 3.9% for elbow joint, and around 4.8% for wrist joint for most cases.

Anemia is a public health problem marked by deficiency of RBCs and classified on the basis of size into microcytic, normocytic and macrocytic anemia. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of microcytic anemia with the other types of anemia and related age groups in Benghazi city. there have been very few studies describing the prevalence of anemia types. A cross sectional study was performed in duration of 6 months, a total of 299 cases were studied, blood samples were collected and hematologicaly tested for CBC in hematology cell counter .As a result(72.9%) of the total anemic patients were females and (27.09%) were males, prevalence of microcytic anemia was the highest (59.19%) among anemia types, the most infected age group in females was (21-40 years) and in males was (1-10 years). Regarding normocytic anemia, the prevalence was (39.46%) and age groups (21-40 years) and (>40 years) were the most infected in both females and males respectively. Prevalence of macrocytic anemia was the lowest (1.33%), (75%) of infected cases were in age group (>40 years) and (25%) were in (21-40 years) age group. According to this study females are more anemic than males , microcytic anemia is the most predominant type of anemia followed by normocytic anemia and finally macrocytic anemia is the lowest prevalent type of anemia. More studies are needed to determine the main causes of prevalence each type of anemia.

This work aimed to study the effect of Gabraun`s water on corrosion of brass and low carbon steel. The corrosion tests were carried out at room temperature. The test solution used was Gabraun water samples. From the results obtained, the weights of all the specimens after the immersion in Gabraun`s water were decreased. After the end of the experiments, the color of the Gabraun water samples that was used for the brass specimens was changed to dark blue color, but for the low carbon steel the color of the water did not change. During the corrosion tests period, the Gabraun water in the beakers was decreased about 50mL/week, this lack was substituted continuously by Gabraun water during the tests period. This addition of water, increased the concentration of the salts of the Gabraun water samples. This increment was played a role in the corrosion process. The average corrosion rate for the low carbon steel is less than yellow copper specimens. The Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) showed that the Gabraun water sample was not corrosive medium, also it showed all the Gabroun waters samples after testing all the specimens were not corrosive medium. The Pourbaix diagrams for both copper and iron in the water at 25oC showed both copper and iron are not corrode metals.

Several studies have addressed the subject of higher education in Libya and the problems and difficulties facing this sector, as well as studies on crisis management, but studies on crisis management in institutions of higher education are few particularly in the Libyan environment. In an attempt to find out the reality of crisis management in the institutions of higher education in Libya, this study adopted the descriptive and analytical approach, where it addressed the theoretical side through secondary data from the relevant references and studies; and the analytical side by collecting its primary data by distributing a questionnaire to a sample from Sebha university. The results showed that the Sabha University management practices crisis management processes modestly, and base on the respondents’ opinions, there were not statistically significant differences regard to crisis management practices at the university due to the variables gender Age educational qualifications, years of experience, and type of job, the results of the study were discussed and a set of recommendations for management of the university related to crisis management practices, as well as proposals for future research in this area.

Continuation of rehabilitation processes is a key element for success. Home-based therapy has become one of the major therapies’ types in terms of continuation. Evaluate patients’ progress in home-therapy is critical for therapeutics. This study concerns meanly on simulating human techniques of evaluation by recruiting available mathematics methods in order to make assessment decisions. A haptic device is embedded with virtual reality scenarios in order to build the upper limbs tele-rehabilitation system. Fuzzy logic concept is used in this novel evaluation method to enable us to ensemble both: I) Data related to the quality of movements; and II) Data related to the quantity of those movements. Then, calculate the functional enhancement of concerned affected upper limbs by study the changes of the function motions of those limbs. Finally, provide therapists with objective evaluation to help them judging the rehab process. The evaluation system was used for two children who were used the rehab system.

This study was conducted to compare the impact of organic fertilizers (chicken and sheep manure) and inorganic fertilizers (urea) and the two factors combined on germination and growth of two varieties of faba bean plant (local and imported) at the farm of Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Sabha- Libya. Where organic manure was added based on the nitrogen content in chicken manure fertilizer 1.5%, sheep manure 1.24% nitrogen, equivalent to (150 kg nitrogen per hectare) (10 tons/ha) fertilizer of chicken manure and (12.1 tons/ha) fertilizer of sheep manure and the application of inorganic fertilizer Urea (150 kg nitrogen per hectare), in addition to isolating and studying some of the physiological properties of Rhizobia, which are in symbiotic with faba bean plants.The results showed that the addition of mineral nitrogen fertilizer with organic fertilizer together has a significant effect on the number of leaves 65.8% and 96% , length of the plant 12.5% and 11.1% , the fresh weight 91%,101% and dry weight 96% , 99% of the plants of local and imported faba bean plant respectively compared to the control especially the fertilizer of chicken manure, as well as the addition of nitrogen fertilizers and Organic fertilizers individually led to increased growth elements for faba bean plants compared to the control, It also showed that most of the isolates appeared high tolerant to temperatures, as well as the study showed the sensitivity of most isolates to high acidity, as the results also showed that the imported faba bean are more sensitive to sodium chloride salt than Local faba bean.

Nanomaterial refers to materials whose exist at the nanometer scale. The behaviour and the properties of nanomaterials as films at the interfaces between two immiscible liquids have extensively been studied in recent years and is of considerable importance in electronic and optoelectronic fields involving the applications for the generation of solar energy. The development of this technique has made its technology a fertile area for scientific research. The growth and ordering of Nano films at the interfacial region have made this new strategy more attractive. Generally, a thin film of nanomaterials is small thicknesses created by wet chemical method. By this, a simple method gold and cadmium sulphide thin films of nanocrystals have been prepared. In this work, we report the results of our study on a thin film of gold nanocrystals at room temperature and CdS nanocrystals thin film at 40°C adhered at the interfacial region between two immiscible liquids. By using an easily useful experimental technique such as UV-vis Double Beam spectrophotometer films were investigated.
