INVESTIGATION OF CERIUM OXIDE AND MANGANESE OXIDE NANOPARTICLE FUEL ADDITIVES TO BIODIESEL FOR IMPROVEMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE AND EXHAUST EMISSION IN A CI ENGINE |
Author : A.P. SATHIYAGNANAM AND K. GOPAL |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :An experimental investigation is carried out to establish the performance and emission characteristics of a compression ignition engine while using nanoparticle as additives in neat diesel and biodiesel. In this study, two different nanoparticle additives namely Cerium Oxide(CeO2) and Manganese Oxide(MnO2) were added to neat diesel and biodiesel at the addition dosage of 25 and 50 ppm. Fuel properties, engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics of obtained modified fuels were examined. The CeO2 and MnO2 act as an oxygen donating catalyst and provide oxygen for the oxidation of CO or absorb oxygen for the reduction of NOx. The activation energy of CeO2 and MnO2 acts to burn off carbon deposits within the engine cylinder at the wall temperature and prevents the deposition of non-polar compounds on the cylinder wall results reduction in HC emissions. The tests revealed that the optimum additive and dosage was determined as 25ppm of CeO2 and 25 ppm of MnO2 engine emission values namely NOx and CO were marginally decreased and engine performance values slightly increased with the addition of nanoparticle additives. |

YOUTH OF INDIA : A POWERFUL FORCE |
Author : ARADHANA SANTOSHI |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The strength of a nation lies not in its loud claims and mouth watering 'Directive Principles' of state policy, but in the spirit of service and that of complete dedication of one's own, both body and soul to the cause of unity and integrity of the nation. Today, a new challenge is facing the country; let the youth accept that challenge, let the youth be put to best use. The present situation in India is marked by its untold divergences and the mushroom growth of youth organization. The lack of a clearly defined goal, lack of proper leadership to inspire the youth and the absence of sincerity are the main characteristic of modern post independence youth movement in India. |

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE SERICULTURE INDUSTRY OF INDIA AS A MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD |
Author : REKHA KALITA |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Industry is the pace- setter of modern life and industrialization is the way to solve the problems of poverty, unemployment and under employment in the developing countries like India. It is glorious to think that the sericulture industry can be a source of self- employment as well as wage employment in the rural areas. The importance of any industry lies not in production alone, but also in creating employment and generating income among the population. Though sericulture was known to the people since long, yet, no particular attempt ever directed to develop it into a distinct branch of cultivation. However inspite its limitations, the silk industry is still flourishing since long and definitely we can assume that it will be able to cross the other limitations also in near future. Therefore the sericulture industry required such urgent steps which would preserve its own unique traditional features and qualities as well as can give the industry a new viable look. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In the formation of chain-networks, the forms of organizational and inter-organizational relationships consider that all the organizations constituting a network, even the interorganizational networks, areformed of people and resourcesthat are engaged in achieving certain goals. This studyhas sought to show how the actors of the Justa Trama agroecological cotton productionchain-network,establish intra and inter-organizational relationships. Using qualitative methodology and an exploratory descriptive approach, theanalyzes led to an understanding and interpretation of the phenomena, using a theoretical matrix to evaluate forms of organizational and inter-organizational relationships, without discarding, auxiliary contributions in developing the conceptual map, with other theories and approaches inherent to the subject. The results reveal the relationships within theJusta Trama Chain-Network, highlighting the stakeholders, stakewatchers and stakekeepers, and permit one to consider that this chain-Network, which acts insix widely dispersed Brazilian States which naturally causes difficulties in relation to transportation, logistics and arranging meetings between the members of the cooperatives. Moreover, this type of organizational arrangement can only be maintained if interorganizational relationships are valued. Thus, the union of collective entrepreneurs allows those involved to take risks that they would not take individually. |

INCLUSIVE GROWTH : EXPERIENCE AND CHALLENGES – A BIRDS VIEW |
Author : SURESH S.MALEGAON |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Inclusive growth' is not a new or a novel idea. Defined in the Eleventh Plan as 'growth process which yields broad based benefits and ensures equality of opportunity for all', it stands for 'equitable development' or 'growth with social justice', which have always been the watch words of development planning in India. Yet, since 'inclusive growth' is so widely used these days by the reputed multilateral institutions as well as the policy makers in India, one wonders whether this usage acquires a special significance in the present context. Perhaps, it does. The belief that there is a significant 'trade-off' between growth and equity does not seem to be as widespread now as before. There is now a genuine and widespread recognition about the adverse social consequences of rising inequalities in the recent high growth phase, which do not seem to be mitigated through the so-called 'trickle-down' mechanism. |

THE ORIGIN AND GROWTH OF SERVICE TAX IN INDIA |
Author : DASHARATH. S.NAIK |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :An interesting aspect of the tax system in India is that except for a few specified services assigned to the states such as the entertainment tax, passengers and goods tax, and the electricity duty, the services were not specifically assigned to either the center or the states. This omission violated the principle of neutrality in consumption as it discriminated against the goods component of consumption. Because services are relatively more income elastic, the tax system is rendered less progressive when these are not taxed (Bird &Wilson). An even more important argument for taxing services is to enable a coordinated calibration of a consumption tax system on goods and services because services enter into goods production and vice versa. |

ROAD TRAFFIC ANALYTICS FOR DYNAMIC TRAFFIC FLOW CONTROL |
Author : OMKAR KULKARNI , SURESH JAKHAR AND MANOJ HUDNURKAR |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Urban areas are developing so are the metropolitan cities. However due to the stringent laws and impromptu regional transport ministry, the ever increasing and expanding cities' roads have exhausted their traffic handling capacities. Hitherto there have been no major congestions and traffic imbroglio; though traffic jams have become common. But in no more time, this situation will be replaced with constant jams, congestions and superflous queuing at signals and long waiting lines. To avert this situation and mollify the traffic flow, the Government officials are planning to make new roads by utilizing natural resources like hills, grass plains, forests and grazing lands meant for livestock farming |

Author : N. MUTHAMMAL , M. PARIMALA FATHIMA AND S.MOHAN |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This study is an attempt to discuss the cognitive schema and learning process. Effective teachers never stop exploring different ways to improve student achievement. As there is no single, perfect solution, educators look to research to guide their practice. Recent innovations in cognitive neuroscience have allowed an unprecedented look into the way the brain works. The exciting learning's about brain function and its effects on learning have the potential to revolutionize teaching and learning. Brain research has provided new knowledge about the many ways that humans learn. (Tammy Cave, 2005) Schema was first introduced by Sir Frederic Bartlett by the neurologist in the behavior era. Schema was developed by Anderson a respected educational psychologist. This learning theory views organized knowledge as an elaborate network of abstract one's understanding of the world. Schemata grow and change as new information is acquired. Learner feel internal conflict if they are trying to assimilate suppositions. Teachers need to understand and be sympathetic to this tension. Then only cognitive scheme strategies help for the learners to learn effectively. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Municipalities have legislated aboutsocial responsibility while proposing regulations and standards for the Social Balance. The fact entails a survey and study in the municipality, in order to outline the facts, and make cognitive analysis with descriptors that can support the construction of the demonstration. Therefore, Disclosure Theorywas elected as theoretical, specifically following an analytic branch that evaluates the discretionary disclosure, considering how parameter guiding the relationship between quality and effects of the disclosure of this information in financial accounting. It was not an objective of this work to study aspects, determinants and economic and financial consequences fromstatements disclosure. This work is the result of qualitative research, descriptive in nature, prepared by Case StudyMethod; involved literature research to supportthe interpretation, survey documents, studying about procedures, and discussion of experiential results. The study used 24 regulations collected in period from February to May 2013, of which selected the theoretical limitations and contradictions considered relevant. Differences and unexacting were seen in theobligatory regulation, such as accuracy, comparability, timeliness and comprehensibility about accounting information, and it was observed that the regulations confront prescriptive rules that entering as a benchmark in relation the scope of entities reached by legislation, penalties, restrictions or awards and these entities, as well as to the advertising and accessibility to this demonstration. As a result it was revealed that the process of creating laws based on isomorphism influenced by factors extrinsic to the theory. It diagnosed that theoretical goal of the Social are misrepresent by actions, then reproduced failures. It is recommended to review of the laws and in the construction of new standards, redirecting for the fundamentals and theoretical accounting, compatible with the quality of accounting information and the presentation of statements of social and environmental nature. The expectation is subsidize accounting information supported for the Brazilian Accounting Standards, focusing on the conceptual social and environmental nature framework. |
