Author : Krishnamurthi Rangacharya |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The Micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) is one of the most vital sectors of any economy in general and India in particular in ensuring equitable, inclusive and employment friendly economic growth. MSMEs have been playing a momentous role in overall economic development of a country like India where millions of people are unemployed or underemployed. This sector solves the many problems viz. Poverty and unemployment through providing immediate large-scale employment, with lower investment and proves to be a second largest manpower employer, after agriculture. By contributing to more than 50% percent of industrial production in value accumulation terms, this sector occupies a position of prominence in Indian economy. In this regard Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan singh stated, “The key to our success in employment lies in the success of manufacturing in the small scale sector”.The Micro, Small and Medium enterprise (MSME) sector in India significantly contributes the 8% of GDP; 26.10 million of units provide the 59.46 million of employment, 45% (Rs. 7.09 lakh crores) of total industrial production and 40% of (Rs. 1.83 lakh crore) of total exports. This sector has consistently registered a higher growth rate than the rest of the industrial sector. There are over 6000 products ranging from traditional to high-tech items which are being manufactured by the MSMEs in India. It is well known that the MSME sector provides the maximum opportunities for both self employment and jobs after agriculture sector. This paper attempts to analyse the growth of MSMEs in India before and after enactment MSMED Act 2006, to analyse the employment, investment, production in Indian MSME sector and as well as analyse the export performance of Indian MSME sector. |

Author : Mohd Zakariya |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The Indo-US Nuclear Deal is seen as a major land mark in Indo-US relations. The deal not only reverses US policy of pressurizing India to roll back its nuclear weapons programme by imposing nuclear technology trade related sanctions on her for being not a party to the NPT and other international nuclear non-proliferation related treaties as a non-nuclear weapon state but also ushered in a new era in Indo-US bilateral relations. Though full potentiality of the deal is yet to be realized, there is no denying that the deal has transformed the Indo-US relations over the last decade bringing about a genuine strategic bilateral partnership which was not possible without resolving the differences on nuclear non-proliferation between the US and India. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The present study empirically investigates the dynamic linkages between American Depository Receipts (ADRs) and their respective underlying stock returns of Indian stock market. Study analyzes daily data from April 1st 2010 to 31 March 2014 by applying a vector error correction model, impulse response function and variance decomposition. The empirical result shows that both underlying stocks and ADRs are level stationary and long-run equilibrium relationship exists between them. The study looks into the price interdependence of 10 Indian companies, which have floated American Depository Receipts (ADRs). The strong correlation between the prices of the dually listed stocks is corroborated by the finding of bidirectional causality in a vector auto regression model. KAKABHUSANDI MEETS CROW: HUGHES’ MYTH MAKING AND THE MODERN WORLD |
Author : S K Mishra , Kapil Kumar Gupta |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Ted Hughes is a mythic poet, who, through the use of myth, brings to light the inadequacies of two dominant explanations of the origin of life—evolutionism and creationism. Hughes implies that excessive dependence on science and logic, and the denial of the powers of myths and rituals has resulted in the alienation of modern man from his self. Through his Crow poems, Ted Hughes explores the deep recesses of man’s collective unconscious to once again unite man with his lost self. Ted Hughes’ Crow makes journeys to the mysterious world of man’s human psyche but does not undergo any transformation and remains an existential figure lost in existence whereas Tulsidasa’s Kakabhusandi, after passing through many lives and deaths, emerges as an enlightened crow, who goes beyond time and space and reaches the grey zone, which is otherwise not accessible |
