CHILD LABOUR & GOVERNMENT POLICIES IN INDIA |
Author : Amit Bhowmick |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Child labour is an unfortunate reality in many of the world’s poorer countries. It is a complex reality, a burning problem and a universal phenomenon. It is a chronic and deep- rooted problem, peculiar to developing countries, especially India. It is, in fact, a betrayal of child’s rights as a human being and an offence against civilization. Child labour today figures to an astounding 250 million and India holds the dubious distinction of harbouring the largest number of children in servitude. As per Government figures, 185,000 child domestic labourers and another 75,000 children in dhabas etc. out of total number of 12.59 million child labourers exist in the country. However, non-government figure claim that 60 million children are employed full time, including 10 million in dhabas and another 10 million children as domestic help workers (Kaushik: 2008). |

A STUDY ON MARKETING OF COTTON IN PERAMBALUR DISTRICT |
Author : V. Sellam , R. Swaminathan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Agriculture is the backbone of an agriculture country, like India. On the other hand, in India, the middlemen enjoy the cream at the cost of disability, illiteracy etc, of the poor Indian farmers. A small part of the price paid by buyers reaches the farmers while the big part is sucked by the middlemen. Farmers are handicapped mainly in securing a fair and reasonable price for their produce. The reasons are many-lack of regulated markets, ungraded produce, no Agmark, inadequate storage and warehousing facility etc. At present, the conditions have been greatly improved. Today, agriculture being modernized, leads to manifold productions. The role of marketing is fast changing. Hence the researcher is attempted to analyze the prospects and problems in marketing of cotton in perambalur district as it is one of the leading and traditional agricultural products in India. |

MARINE POLLUTION IS ALARMING COASTAL VILLAGES IN KANYAKUMARI DISTRICT - AN ANALYSIS |
Author : S. Sahayaselvi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The only reserve for millions of fishermen in the world is the marine resources. They are solely depending upon the sea for their livelihood. Due to marine pollutants, the fishermen as well as the people who consume fish have adverse effect like skin irritations, eye irritation, blindness, lung and liver problems, low fertility and poor birth survival rates. Further, there is a drastic fall of marine fish from 60 per cent in 1990-91 to 36.70 per cent in 2012-2013. The recent research states that the world’s largest landfill is not on land but in the Pacific Ocean. Adding to that, 80 per cent of all marine pollution originates from land-based sources which are primarily industrial, agricultural and urban. Therefore, this research paper focuses on addressing the readers and the policy makers about the extent of pollutants that are submerged in the sea water and its serious effect on both marine and human life. Results indicate that 52.4 per cent of the sample respondents yearly income is less than 1, 00,000 per annum due to depletion of fish in the sea. 45.8 per cent of the sample respondents spend above. 10000 for medical purposes. Therefore this paper offers some valuable suggestions to control the marine pollution and save both human and marine lives. |

limits of rational being, or the simple reason. For this highlights the attempts of understanding
through the elements of the process of getting to know built around the Subject and Object, as the
Materialism(realism) and Idealism. It is also of the chains and the ability to know the Truth as the
skepticism and dogmatism. Highlighting the pragmatism, whose concept is based on the usefulness
and that serves the interests of the people. Finally, as proposed introducing the Hermeneutic Criticism
developed by Paul Ricoeur and the complexity of Edgar Morin that proposes a theory of knowledge

A MATHEMATICAL INVESTIGATION ON THE INFLUENCE OF THE POSITION AND METHOD OF PLUCKING A GUITAR STRING FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF ENERGY BETWEEN FUNDAMENTAL TONE AND OVERTONES |
Author : Joyanta Sarkar, Utpal Biswas |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This investigation aims to develop a mathematical model for prescribing the behavior of an idealized vibrating string. By mathematical model we can calculate theoretical amplitudes for the different harmonics, based on the extent and position of the pluck. In this paperwe are presenting an investigation on the influence of the position and method of plucking a guitar string for the distribution of energy between fundamental tone and overtones. It was done by recording sound samples from an acoustic guitar, and numerically analyzing the data using computer software. Conclusively, it is stated that there were more overtones produced when the string was plucked close to the edge of the guitar. Since the paper was a physics investigation, it examined the matter experimentally, presenting little to no mathematical explanations for the results. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :On August 29th, 2012, President Barrack Obama sat in front of a computer, uploaded a picture
of him, and began answering user-submitted questions on Reddit. Some might have claimed that this
was a cheap way to win over voters, but let’s think about this for a little: it wasn’t all that long ago when
we considered social media to have limited value as a publicity platform for anyone that wasn’t in a
garage band. Since Mr. Modi took office last year as leader of the world’s largest democracy, policy
pronouncements have come in 140-character snippets. He has used Twitter and other social-media
services to engage in diplomacy and build his image in a way few other global leaders have. |

GRAMMAR-TRANSLATION APPROACH OF LEARNING ENGLISH |
Author : Sudhansu Dash |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Translation itself was an academic exercise rather than one which would actually help learners
to use language, and an overt focus on grammar was to learn about the target language rather than to
learn it. But at the height of the communicative approach to language learning in the 1980s and early
1990s it became fashionable in some quarters to deride so-called old-fashioned methods and, in
particular, something broadly labeled "Grammar Translation". As with many other methods and
approaches, Grammar Translation tended to be referred to in the past tense as if it no longer existed
and had died out to be replaced world-wide by the fun and motivation of the communicative
classroom. In examination of the principal features of Grammar Translation, however, we will see
that not only has it not disappeared but that many of its characteristics have been central to language
teaching throughout the ages and are still valid today.

The heritage values of archaeological remains, inherited buildings and urban areas are shape cultural policies, which involved in the construction of national identities. Everywhere in the world, because of rapid urbanisation and extension outside of their ramparts and historical frameworks, cities have recently colonised larger territories. This form of colonisation has taken different shapes: urban sprat; and densification of peripheral areas; suburbanisation, which has absorbed villages and created new neighbourhood; and voluntarist policies, which have tried to manage urban extensions through the creation of satellite towns located a few kilometres away from the min city. |

Abstract :Notwithstanding its short comings, the human rights discourse has become a powerful tool for enforcing accountability in governance in India. Human rights have not only expanded vertically to ensure their protection and promotion during the interaction of states with all actors but also developed horizontally, becoming the basis for good governance and interaction even among the citizenry. Author : Sudhir V. Bhandarkar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The present study was carried out on
Dhukeshwari Temple Pond, the freshwater
lentic ecosystem in Deori, District Gondia to
obtain the baseline data of Crustaceans with
reference to Cultural Eutrophication for the
period of 2014-15. As like Rotifers,
Crustaceans are also one of the most
important biotic components in the
freshwater ecosystem as they are integral
part of the aquatic food chain, in which they
dependent on phytoplanktons and detritus,
they contribute to minimize the biomass of
phytoplankters. Crustacean becomes most important component of the natural purifying system in
Eutrophic waters. The Dhukeshwari Temple Pond is under pressure of anthropogenic activities. In the
present observation 27 species of Order Cladocera were recorded from the 06 families, with highest
diversity with 08 species in Family Chydoridae and Aloniae with 08 species. In Subclass Copepoda, 04
species were recorded from order Calanoida, 01 with order Harpacticoida and 01 with Cyclopoida. 04
species for Class Ostracoda from Cypridae family are also observed. Their role in determination of the
trophic status of pond ecosystem is discussed. |

Author : Márcio Felisberto da Silva , JuanderAntonio de Oliveira Souza , Eloiza Elena Della Justina and Robison Costa de Souza |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This paper presents geomor phological mapping of the Igarapé Grande basin representing a subdivision following the proposal of major classification proposed by Ross (1992) and the Manual Técnico de Geomorfologia (IBGE, 2009). The subdivision extends from the first táxon on a smaller scale, 1: 250,000 related to Morphostructure, by the fifth and sixth táxon on a scale of 1: 20,000, with the latter respectively include the forms of strands and current erosion and accumulation processes . The partitioning are grouped into morphostructural unit, morfoescultural unit, morphological units, relief types, types of slopes and current processes. The basin is located in the urban area of the city of Porto Velho - RO, flowing into the right bank of the Rio Madeira. For this work we used GIS techniques to define the geomorphological units, among which remote sensing, the vectorization of geospatial data and map-making. |
