Author : Ramesha K. and Dr. T. Rajendra Prasad |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :All the developing economies are incorporated with unorganized sectors. It is due to slow structural Atransformation and traditional bound. India is not exempted and Indian labour market is also dominated by unorganized labour force. The transformation of the economy with its existing sectors from the unorganized into organized is depending upon the policy decision and proper implementations of the programmes
across different sectors. This transformation process also largely determined by the level of existing wage rates. The
wage is a determining factor of standard of living and quality of life of the labour class in the unorganized sector. Higher level of wages increases the purchasing power and level of savings and investments. It has the power to mitigate the poverty and gives a new avenue towards attainment of long run sustainable development. The unorganized agricultural and non-agricultural occupations are receiving very less amount of daily wages across India and draws attention of the policy makers. Many occupations are receiving very less daily wages. There are
significant differences in the average daily wage rates in the non-agricultural occupations in India. The present study makes an attempt to examine the changing trends in the average daily wage rates in non-agricultural occupations at all India level.

BACKUP AND DISASTER RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR RESTORATION OF DATA SERVICES |
Author : Nitin D. Magdum and Prof. Manik A. Raichurakar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :We propose a backup and Disaster recovery system for instant restoration of data services, focusing on a generalpurpose automatic backup and recovery approach to protect production database data. The system will automatically start on failover of production database on standby database. The recurrent need of excess storage space on production server gives birth to this idea. As the production servers deal with activities such as report generation etc., that turn increases the load on the server causing the performance to degrade. Also, there are more possibilities of threats like hardware failure, loss of machine etc., where data recovery can only be the option left, for the survival of the data. The functionality will be provided by
standby server for backup of the running database and its immediate failover during failure. Furthermore, backup and recovery can be directly applied to any existing system and it database locks, functions, triggers and User management. |

Author : Tejas Walvekar and Pratibha Reddy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In today’s era, image processing techniques are becoming useful for various applications. For visually impaired or blind individuals, it is not possible to recognize pattern or colors of cloths they use. Image processing approach can be useful for cloth pattern recognition as well as cloth color identification. Various approaches are used by researchers for the same. The present study discusses about difference between traditional texture samples and clothing pattern samples with large intra class pattern and color variations, various statistical analysis methods used for pattern recognition, directionality of image using Radon Signature and color identification techniques.
Clothing patterns of four different categories are considered here (stripped, plaid, irregular and pattern-less) and color identification is considered in terms of percentage of 15 different colors. Using MATLAB tools for image processing, special functioned descriptors can be implemented to extract image features. Also colors can be identified by normalizing the histogram in HSI (Hue, Saturation and Intensity) color space. Large database of different cloth pattern images is required for comparative analysis. |

KAMMA AT THE MOMENT OF DEATH (CUTI) AND REBIRTH(PATISANDHI) AS EXPOUNDED IN THERAVADA BUDDHISM |
Author : Sunanda |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Due to birth, old age and death will be the outcome. Everyone who gets to be born will without fail meet with death.Beginning in our mother’s womb we make our way through life. One existence after another, each life is only a temporary process due to different kammas.Kamma means intentional bodily, verbal, or mental actionsdone by beings who are not fully liberated. In the ultimate sense, kamma means volition. If the
volition is good, kamma is good; and if the volition is bad, kamma is bad. Death (cuti) is the extinction of mental life (jivitindriya), physical life (jivitarupa), consciousness
(viññana) and heat (usmatejo) in one existence. Patisandhi (rebirth)is so called because of linking previous and subsequent life; or linking with the brining of the next existence.Immediately following the dissolution of death consciousness, normally there arises in a new existence the rebirth-linking consciousness. This rebirth consciousness is a resultant consciousness (vipaka-citta) produced usually by kamma that ripened at the stage of sign in the previous life. Kamma will take us to a destination that befits our actions and deeds carried out in this life: as shown in the age-old adage of “You reap what you sow”.

OPTIMIZATION OF GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR) DATA INTERPRETATION FROM HYDROCARBON CONTAMINATION ON SUBSURFACE |
Author : Jamile Dehaini, Fábio Taioli ,Jorge Kazuo Yamamoto, Antonio Claudio Kieling,Jaidete Monteiro de Souza, Melquizedec Arcos Rodrigues ,Marcos Dantas dos Santos |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Leakage from gas stations, the refineries and pipelines is a common source of underground pollution and the subject has called attention of the academic, environmental and general community. Sometimes the leakage is followed by explosion and fire risks besides the inherent danger to the human health.
Hydrogeologic and hydrogeochemical studies have shown that the hydrocarbon dispersion and migration mechanisms are complex and the adequate estimation is very difficult using solely monitoring wells. The application of indirect (geophysical) methods becomes even more complicated when occurring in an urban area where electrical, electromagnetic, seismic and other cultural noises are present and the data interpretation is
very dependent of the geophysicist judgment. In order to make the ground penetrating radar (GPR) data interpretation more impersonal, an algorithm based on the amplitude spectra ratio was suggested and tested in a set of real data. The algorithm consists in the ratio between the maximum amplitude of the spectrum of the entire survey line and the maximum amplitude of parts of the spectrum, both in time and position. A geostatistical analysis of the results of the several calculated ratios was carried out and a new map was generated. The
contamination, first visually characterized by a “shadow zone” in the GPR sections, was precisely detected using the suggested algorithm. After the drilling of boreholes in both contaminated and non-contaminated areas, chemical analysis of the water present in such boreholes confirmed the interpretation of the GPR sections and the precise extension of the contaminant plume obtained by using the algorithm., larger than previously estimated by the direct investigation and by the GPR visual interpretation.

Author : Uday Kumar Nandi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Opposed to formalism in terms of New Criticism or deconstruction that followed it, New historicism remains a mode of literary study which situates a literary text within the cultural history of a given time. Instead of representing just the historical events, as old historicism does, it serves the purpose of a cultural discourse of an era by way of projecting not only the hegemonic power but also the subversive forces as
suppressed in the master narratives. The present paper seeks to explore that voices of silence as well as resistance against the nationalist rhetoric which worked behind the holocaust of the subcontinent in 1947 with close reference to Saadat Hasan Mantos stories “The Last Salute”, ‘The Dog of Titwal”, “The Price of Freedom”, “Toba Tek Singh” and “ Khol Do”, which obviously includes the gender issue and the relevance of “oral history” to represent the traumatised voice in the true sense of the term. As an imperative to having a more comprehensive
perspective, it finally makes a comparative study between cultural criticism and cultural materialism regarding the issue addressed in terms of commitment and relevance of the study of the past in the present context. |
