| | THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF WOMEN IN PATRIARCHAL SOCIETY: A STUDY OF SIVAKAMI’S ‘THE TAMING OF WOMEN’ | Author : Dr. Dara Sudhakara Rao | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In the patriarchal Indian society, women pass through manifold trials and tribulations apart from the discrimination in terms of their caste and gender. Their oppression is seen both at home and outside. The dual pressures of caste and gender place
women in a state of exploitation by the men. She is reduced to a mere body, to the position of a mere sexual commodity. Women have been the object of violence in greater degree from their own men folk, and also from so called upper caste men. In Indian society, women is subjugated and ill-treated in many
ways. It is all because of the age old patriarchal society in which the men are always upper hand and dominate the women irrespective of the class, background, plight and predicament of the women. One gets a clear picture of Dalit women and her pitiable predicament from the works of Indian Dalit women writers like Bama and Sivakami. Their writings articulate the voice of the voiceless women. They are forced to go through
many trials and tribulations in the course of their life and accept them as if they are an integral part in the women’s life in Indian society. The present paper ‘The trials and tribulations of the women in Patriarchal Society” portrays the harsh realities prevailing in Indian society in which the women have been caught in the clutches of men and have become victims and
accepted their unchangeable fate. |

Shafiq and Soheir Mokhtar | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The study aims at identifying the root of the food crisis in the Arab world and analyzing the underlying factor behind. Among these factors are; the total agricultural domestic production and the large and continuing increase in the number of population in most of Arab countries, Egypt occupies the top position, along with the agricultural production of these countries, the average of the individuals share, the food gap and its causes in order
to reach some solutions that will contribute to find out solutions to those problems. Moreover, this study depended on the style of the descriptive statistical analysis to describe the data. Also, this research relied on published and non-published data from the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development along with
many of the websites and studies that are relevant to this topic. Finally, the study has concluded that there is an increase in the size of the food gap for each of the following; (refined sugar 65.78%, vegetable oils 64.26%, wheat and flour 54.98%, 41.71% for rice, meat 22.6%) in 2015 in comparison with its counterpart in 2000 that reached about 13.7%, 32%, 52.6%, 55%, 63%, while this self-sufficiency ratio was declined in
wheat flour, rice, vegetable oils, meat and refined sugar to about 34.22%, 77.4%, 35.74%,58.29% and 41.02% during the same year in comparison with its counterpart in 2000. Also, this study has illustrated that the proportion of the exported crops to the imported ones from some crops such as wheat, rice,
potatoes, beans, vegetables, fruit, sugar, vegetable oil,red meat, white meat, milk and its dairy products (35.1%, 5.12%, 12%, 17.5%, 5.01%, 124.9%, 346.02%, 23.1%, 150.2%, 5.9%,1.4 %) for each of them, respectively. Thus, the study recommends the need for attention and taking it seriously enough before it is too late, especially Arabs own an arable land (Sudan), manpower and expertise (Egypt), Capitalism (Gulf
States). Additionally, the closeness of Arabic tastes and the near distances between them reduce shipping coasts and all of those are positive factors for increasing the intra-Arabic exports Arab as well as to avoid the political decisions and completely separate them from the economic decisions which can destroy

to reach the recommendations that can help to encounter those challenges. In an attempt to achieve this objective, the study tackled the effects of the flotation decision on the foreign exchange earnings, indicators of the Egyptian exports and imports and the living situation of the Egyptian citizen. Finally, the study concluded that the increase of the foreign exchange reserves to about 16.564 billion dollars by the end of August 2016 compared to 15.536 billion dollars by the end of July of the same year. Also, the performance of the Egyptian stock exchange was improved as well as the positive reaction in the market. However, the black market returned to be more active
than before, making everyone speculate that the government will decide further actions (the partial removal of subsidies on many strategic goods) as part of the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Besides, the Egyptian pound still continuing to decline against its counterpart, the
dollar, since the dollar price in banks reached to about
18.75 as the price to buy and about 19 pounds as the
rate of sale. As for the Egyptian living reality, the flotation decision had a negative impact which was clearly evident in the sharp rise of the prices of all food commodities and production requirements, as well as a severe shortages of many commodities, at the top was the sugar and many medicines, especially after the cessation of the medicine companies form importing, resulting from higher customs dollar as a means to
impose pressure on the government to raise prices. Also, the decision to reduce support form gasoline, diesel fuel and supplied goods had a great impact of the rise of all prices of goods and services; such as education, transportation, prices of electricity, water, health care and all aspects of the Egyptian economy. Additionally, this study recommended increasing
exports through increasingthe domestic product and giving attention to its quality so that it can compete in the global markets, as well as working on the establishment of large-scale projects (Food industry) to accommodate a great number of labors in order to gradually eliminate unemployment. |
| | HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION TOWARDS THE PROTECTION OF ENVIRONMENT | Author : Dr. C. Jeyapaul | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :India has a unique environmental heritage. It represents almost all type of habitats of the world and almost all types of ecosystem such as mountains, deserts, coastal areas, mangroves, landmass, water bodies, forests and islands. However our development processes that are based on intense
utilization of natural resources and energy intensive technology, along with pressure of population and poverty have caused a great damage to environment and resources. Indias rivers are heavily polluted; even groundwater system are polluted and the water levels are falling. Our forest cover is much below the target area stipulated by National Forest Policy of 1988. Our
industries that consume most of our resources are throwing poisonous effluents and emissions, polluting air, water and soil. Our agriculture though made us self-sufficient in food has adopted a strategy that demanded heavy use of fertilizer and pesticides. This led to water and soil pollution. As Justice V. R. Krishna yer points out that, "technological Iintocation and
glittering growth at all costs have victimized natural resources poisoned the biosphere and depleted the Third World into deeper improverishment." The present study analyse how to create a healthy environment through the Human Rights Education. |

| | TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN RELATION TO THEIR JOB SATISFACTION | Author : Ramkrishna and Dr. Vijay Phogat | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The success of any educational programme in particular and that of the education system as a whole depends on a number of factors like the quality and infrastructure of educational institutions, sincerity, commitment and goal orientation of the teachers and students, vision and leadership of the administrative and management personnel as well as the feedback and support from the society etc. The schools are the
nurseries where the future of mankind is shaped as rightly asserted by Indian Education Commission, 1966. The success of a school depends, in large measure, on the quality of its teaching staff. When the teachers are effective, students learn (Ewan, 2002). Effective teachers add confidence and charisma to their students along with imparting essential skills for knowledge acquisition and enhancement of their learning in a more satisfying, joyful and meaningful ways. On the contrary, poor teachers add stress and sleepless nights to principals’ lives, contribute to low staff morale, and create scores of angry parents. However, ‘most depressing of all is that ineffective teachers damage students and diminish learning’ (Sanders & Rivers, 1996). In the context of modern emerging Indian society, which is in transition from earlier phase of neo-modernism to post modernism under the influence of global changes of different kinds, it is all the more important to focus on teacher’s effectiveness as a means of better student learning and thus better human capital formation. This paper focuses on the two crucial factors namely teacher effectiveness and job satisfaction among teachers as the significant contributors of
quality teaching in the classrooms for ensuring the rich dividends from demographic advantages of the country by
2030.The investigators have studied a sample of 150 teachers and found significant relationship between these
two factors at 0.01 level. |

Bharadi | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :74th Amendment to the Constitution of India, 1992 identified enormous responsibilities for the urban local governments. Decentralization increases efficiency of the lower levels of Government in the provision of various local services due to their limited jurisdiction and better matching of services. An
increase in decentralization is expected to delegate more powers to local government authorities and augment their capacity to mobilize resources. The government should reorient its attitude in regard to municipal corporations, providing constructive guidance and adequate assistance to them, as an
active partner to the common cause of city administration. The Central Finance Commission (CFC) to suggest measures needed to augment the consolidated fund of the states to supplement the resources of municipalities devolved on the basis of the
respective SFC recommendations. However, the progr e ss in the impl ementation o f S FC recommendations in several states has not been very encouraging. The CFC has also grappled in making recommendations of resource transfer to local governments in states. |

| | ERASING THE SILENCE: QUEST FOR FEMININE IDENTITY IN SHASHI DESPANDE’S THAT LONG SILENCE | Author : Dayal Chakrabortty | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Feminism emerged as a worldwide movement with the purpose of defining, establishing, and defending political and socio-economical rights and equal opportunities for women, establishing gender justice and gender equity. Woman’s individual self has very little recognition and self effacement and self denial has been a woman’s normal way of life for
ages. Women, no doubt, have acquired constitutional rights of equality with men, but the change in social attitudes towards women is yet to be achieved. Indian women have always been socially, psychologically, emotionally, sexually and biologically oppressed and exploited in a patriarchal society. Quest for feminine identity is basically a post-independence social
phenomenon in India, a Phenomenon influenced by
various changing forces of reality- freedom movement, progressive education, increasing contacts with the west, urban growth etc. Many writers in Indian English fiction have portrayed these silent sufferers and offered a voice to these individuals to rebel against the traditional role breaking the silence of suffering to move out of the caged existence and asserting the individual self. This paper is an attempt to
explore Shashi Despande’s That Long Silence as a novel
which illustrates the image of an educated woman in
the middle-class family and the way she is sandwiched
between tradition and modernity, illusion and reality,
mask and face in quest for her feminine identity. The
novel explores the emotional world of the protagonist,
revealing a rare imaginative awareness of various
deeper forces at work and a profound understanding
of feminine sensibility as well as psychology.

A pesquisa feita neste trabalho
apresenta características de análise e identificação
para um projeto de implantação de um sistema
fotovoltaico conectado à rede de energia elétrica em
uma edificação comercial no centro urbano de
Manaus. |

Hence, Government of India felt that
there is a need to launch the digital India programme so as to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the application of IT. Digital revolution, also known as “The Internet Economy” or the Internet ofEverything (IOE) It is true that technology is the key factor to the vision of digital India.
