EFFECT OF SUBSTITUTION OF FINANCIAL SAVINGS WITH NON-FINANCIAL SAVINGS |
Author : Dr. Hiranya Lahiri |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :One of the major constraints that India has been
facing of late, is savings constraint. This limits investment. It
has been observed that in recent times, there has been a fall
in real rate of interest which has discouraged savings and
led to substitution of financial savings with non-financial
savings (primarily gold). This paper shows that a rise in
import of gold adds to further constraint on investment by
lowering savings through a variety of channels. Further a
rate cut in times of economic gloom leads to stagflation,
instead of causing a recovery, by increasing consumption of gold and lowering savings. |

Author : Vijendra Batra |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Invention of more environment friendly products and
processes are main object of green chemistry. Use of phase
Transfer in Depolymerization of PET is an example. Catalyst in
recovery of monomer terephthalic acid by Poly(ethylene
terephthalate) waste using sodium or potassium hydroxide is
a method in which more than 95% product TPA is possible at
lower temperature in less time is observed. Experimentally,
when 10 gm PET waste refluxed with 10gm NaOH in 100ml
distilled water, in presence of Tetrabutyl ammonium bromide
0.2% weight of PET waste in fine powder form 95% recovery within 90 minutes of 100o
C was found. Recovery
of catalyst is also very easy after recovery of monomer. Due to all these advantages over conventional
method use of PTC is product step to promote greener way of depolymerization of all types of plastic or

STRANGULATED WOMEN: WOMEN IN BETWEEN FAMILY AND PUBLIC SPACE IN THE SOUTH INDIAN STATE OF KERALA |
Author : Dr. Gayathri O. |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Women are strangulated between expectations in
family and pressures of their role in the public space. Once
exposed to the public space at various capacities as employees
and others, they have to grapple with role expectations of two
domains of their lives: family and public space. This suffocation
impacts their social world in tremendous ways, often
detrimental to their sociability, opportunities, excellence in
their public role as well health. In the traditional division of
labour existing in the society, women are considered as
protector of the family and responsible house makers. But
socio economic changes have altered the traditional preoccupation of women with family and women began
to appear in the public domain. Consequently women have to travel between two worlds, i.e., the private
domain, which is her socially constructed natural place and public domain. How women adjust to their life
responsibilities is a socially relevant question which needs to be explored. This paper is an attempt to
understand whether the entry of women in the public domain has made any changes in their domestic
responsibilities or their private life carry any impact on the excellence on the respective industry in which they
find themselves on the public space. |

Author : Dr. N. Guria and Ms. Barnali Dutta |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This study indicates that attitude of private and
government school teachers are equal towards inclusive
education. This might be due to the reason that both private
and government teachers have more knowledge about the
children learning environment because of the present day
practice of inclusion of special need children. The hypothesis,
different methods of collecting data the tools to be used for
it are all thought of well in advance while planning and
project. The emphasis on the means and tools is important so
that the conclusion and result confirm, elucidate and approve the assumed hypothesis. Analysis of results is
directly concerned with hypothesis. The obtained results will confirm, prove or disprove the hypothesis.
Inclusive education in special education may be a recent concept, but it is an accepted approach in general
education in the Indian context. In a general classroom in India, Children of different I Q levels study together.
A classroom teacher usually targets the average learner in his/her teaching, but is also exposed to situations
of handling slow learners as well as academically advanced learners. Therefore, inclusive Education on the
basis of cognitive abilities is already in vogue in general education in General classroom teachers apply this
method of teaching without labeling it as inclusive education. |

Author : Dr. Oinam Ranjit Singh |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Marriage is an institution which authorizes man and
woman to family life. The establishment of the institution of
marriage is a landmark in the history of human society. It did
not prevail among the primeval people because in the early
days sex life was absolutely free and promiscuity was well
founded. As civilization advanced, people started to lead
settled life abandoning the habit of shifting from one place
to another in search of food. In this phase, food gathering
economy turned into food producing economy and man
began to lead some regulated life. As in the food gathering stage the sex relationships was promiscuous, only
motherhood alone could be the ascertainable parenthood without the trace of definite fatherhood.
Fatherhood could be possible to judge if sex relationship became exclusive union of male and female. In
mens aim to identify with the paternity of children lie the seeds of the institution of marriage. From
promiscuity to monogamy there was a long march from pre-agricultural to agricultural economy in which
monogamy and monogamous marriage were institutionalized. Society permits man and woman to be
husband and wife and to have children by involving the right of sexual relation through the institution of
marriage. At diverse places and in different stages of human development marriage had been emerged in
different forms with elaborate rule, regulation and custom. |

RECYCLING OF AGRICULTURE WASTES THROUGH OYSTER MUSHROOM CULTIVATION TO MITIGATE STUBBLE BURNING PROBLEM AND EMPOWER RURAL PEOPLES |
Author : Parimal Mandal |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Agriculture is the backbone of Economy in India. About
60% of Indian population directly depends on agriculture and
its allied fields. The agriculture wastes as byproduct are largely
burnt on field that led to emission of air pollutants, one of the
major problems by stubble burning practice in India. Recycling
these agriculture wastes viz. Paddy straw, Wheat straw and
Maize straw by cultivation of Oyster mushroom, Pleurotus
sajor-caju, a nutrient rich fungus was studied in the present
work to mitigate stubble burning practice. Biological efficiency
of this mushroom cultivation on different agro wastes
available in my study was studied. It was found that maximum efficiency was found on wheat straw followed
by paddy straw and maize straw. So, Oyster mushroom cultivation may be treated as socio-economically and
ecologically more effective in consideration of nutritious rich health food to combat malnutrition,
economically more profitable and opportunity of new employment generation, recycle of agro wastes which
can reduce emission of air pollutants to mitigate stubble burning practice, no land or very small space and
minimum capital investment which may be an alternative way of employment opportunity for rural landless
farmers. |

following dependent variables were selected for this study namely Speed and Explosive power. The data were
collected on selected dependent variables at prior and immediately after the experimental period as pretest
and posttest respectively. The records were scrutinized by smearing dependent ‘t’ test and analysis of
covariance (ANCOVA) was charity to find out the significant difference among the groups, if any discretely for
each dependent variable. Since, two groups were compared, whenever the obtained ‘F’ ratio for adjusted
posttest was found to be significant. The 0.05 level of confidence was fixed to test the level of significance
which was painstaking as an apt. The result of the study showed that plyometric training group has
significantly differed on selected dependent variables namely speed and explosive power when compared to
control group. |

Author : Micheal Solomon L. and Dr. Arun Lawrence |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Kerala is one of the fastest developing state in India.
The overall development in Kerala is far ahead when
compared to other states in India. Because of which Kerala is
known as a second generation state. People of Kerala have
been very much uplifted in various spears of life such as
socio-economic activity and education. Even though the state
is said to be highly developed, there are various deprived
social groups who are far behind from the mainstream of
development. Fishermen community is one of the prominent
group in Kerala social system but they are deprived of
various socio-economic amenities. The central Government, State Government, RBI and NGOs have
conducted various measures to uplift the standard of living of fishermen community through financial
inclusion. Social audits show that these measures are not as effective as expected in connection with
fishermen community. They are still unaware of modern financial market, financial instruments and
intermediaries. The various policies taken by various bodies are ineffective and does not have a positive
impact among the fisherman community as expected. The study thus tries to evaluate the financial literacy of

A STUDY CONCERNING PLEASURE ETHICS OF THE EPICUREAN AND THE CARVAKA SCHOOL OF PHILOSOPHY |
Author : Shantaraj Debbarma |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The most desirable object in this world is obviously
the pleasure. There may be different views regarding the
origin, nature and class of pleasure, but nobody can deny the
pleasure. Pleasure is one of the basic things of our life,
without this, human development is impossible. Man can get
pleasure in anytime, anywhere, any form and from any
object. There are levels of pleasure in our society. As a social
and rational being, we should not approve all kinds of
pleasure. The definition of pleasure may be differing from
person to person and community to community, but the real
pleasure should be the one which brings pleasure not only for oneself but for all. And to attaining the
pleasure, knowledge is required, avoiding the knowledge one cannot think about pleasure. Pleasure will
automatically come out if one lives a life with honor, justice and wisdom. Justice resides there, where honor
or respect is present and without wisdom justice is impossible. So we can say that to attain the pleasure and
to staying in the warm of pleasure, wisdom is needed. |

HOW TO LIVE IN HUMAN WORLD |
Author : Tran Thi Mai |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :It is observed that a more significant percentage of
human beings need to develop their mind to their fullest
capability to realize its true benefits being a human being.
The human nature at the beginning of its young mind is
considered innocent and ignorant of what merits and
demerits that could be obtained living in this mortal realm.
Without the real basis of measurement to assess the merits
and demerits, they tend to interpret and evaluate the value
of things based on sensual pleasure. Therefore things of
sensual pleasures are regarded as being of high importance. In other words, it could be said that our human
civilization at the beginning of our history would attest to this fact. We find human being was unable to find
the true peace and happiness in this mortal realm until the emergence of the teaching Buddha in 550 BC.
That was the beginning of this Buddha Sasana when the Lord Buddha discovered the correct pathway to
liberation. It was then that, human being began to understand the good and bad actions. |

HETROMOLECULAR NUCLEATION OF H2SO4 AEROSOLE |
Author : Anurag Kumar , Vikas Mishra and Prakash Mishra |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In the present paper the values of the critical radius
(r*) and the Gibb’s free energy of formation for a critical
nucleus (?G*)as a function of no. of molecules of H2SO4
(nB)and weight percentage (X) of H2SO4 at different
temperature for no .of molecules of water (nA=900) is
calculated from the result we concluded that in nucleation
process of H2SO4 .nH2O the cluster depends on the relative
values of nA and nB. The molar volume of solution depends on
the vcalue of molar fraction (X)of sulphuric acid. At a given
constant value of nA as weight percent age (X) increases the critical radius (r*
),Gibb’s free energy of formation
of critical nucleus and the values of nB will increased.

DEMOGRAPHIC DIVIDEND OF INDIA – ROAD TO FUTURE ECONOMIC SUPER POWER BY 2050 – A NATIONAL STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVE |
Author : Dr. S. P. Rath and Dr. Chandu Ravi Kumar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :India in its latest census 2011 has shown the
demographic dividend as the sign of economic growth in the
true sense. Globalisation will be benefited from the
population dividend by 2020 and onward. No wonder
demography has gone beyond the headcounts; study of the
population in every census in India raises issues of National
and International concern. Especially, India is at the
alarming stage of demographic developmental studies as
per the statistical anticipation of having the worlds’ largest
population by 2036. Censuses in India have defined the population growth as – 1891 – 1921, as Stagnant
Population, 1921 – 1951, as Steady Growth, 1951 – 1981, as Rapid Growth, 1981 – 2011 High Growth with
signs of Slowing down, 2011 – onward, as Controlled Growth which has been used as parameters of
measuring many social sciences studies. Current census of 2011 clearly defines the Indian Population as the
emerging Super Power in Manpower of the world by 2020 because of the largest segment of the young
population, which is of course a transit advantage for the country. Like other censuses this current census
2011 has highlighted the issues like (CSR) declining Child Sex Ratio, higher level of (TFR) Total Fertility Rate,
Increased Literacy Rate etc. as controllable measures for the nation. The most significant is the issue of

RURAL INDEBTEDNESS AMONG AGRICULTURAL LABOURERS IN KARNATAKA: AN ANALYSIS OF ITS NATURE AND MAGNITUDE |
Author : Shri Ravikumar Pattanashetti and Dr. H H Gadwale |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Indebtedness among the agricultural labour
households is one of the key problems in India. As
agricultural activities are heavily dependent upon natural
factors such as quality of soil, temperature, rainfall, etc.,
these ultimately affect the annual income from agriculture
and thereby repaying capacity of the farm labourers. Most of
the farm labourers still depends on non-institutional sources
of credit. They are often exploited through high rate of
interest and conditions of the loan. Farm labourers borrow every year but they are not in a position to repay
the debt because either their loans are larger or their agricultural output or amount of wage is not enough to
pay off the debt for a longer period of time. Agricultural labourers are compounded by the fact that they are
landless labourers, many small and marginal farmers also work partly on the farms of others to supplement
their income. This study is mainly based on primary data. Karnataka state is selected for the purpose of the
present study. The total sample size of the study was 200 agricultural labour households. Simple statistical
tools and techniques like simple averages, ratios, and percentage were employed for analysis of data. The
main findings reveal that the proportion of agricultural labour households which had contracted loan was
found to be quite significant as compared to that of the hereditary loan. It has been fund that a majority of
agricultural labour households have taken loan for unproductive purposes like household consumption and
marriages and other ceremonial expenses. It has been also observed that the proportion of average debt per
indebted ALHs was found to be quite significant in institutional-cum-non-institutional source as compared to
that of other sources, followed by non-institutional source and institutional source. Finally the present study
suggested that the State Government should organize special programmes to improve the standard of living
of the agricultural labourers like providing housing sites, agricultural land, fair price shops, health centers,
maternity wards, vocational and technical training, etc.

Author : Aruna Paarcha and Prof. R. B. Singh |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) of a city has been a significant way to determine the level of
urbanization and quality of city life. In the past few decades India as well as the globe have observed the
rapid growth in urbanization. Cities in India also have observed lot of problems due to Urban sprawl and
therefore in the study change of land use and land cover has been analyzed for Dehradun city and its
surroundings using Landsat satellite images. Landsat images for the year 2001, 2011 and 2017 have been
obtained from United States Geological Survey,(USGS). Classification of satellite images has been done in five
classes, with respect to crop land, built up area, water body, vegetation and other classes. The accuracy
assessment of the classification has been a very significant step for result validation and it has yielded
significant result in overall accuracy (90.40per centfor 2001, 89.05per centfor 2011 and 95.25per centfor
2017) and Kappa Coefficient (0.82 for 2001, 0.86 for 2011 and 0.94 for 2017). Urban sprawl has increased in
Dehradun city with the passage of time (2001 – 2017). Change detection results have shown the rapid and
continuous positive growth in built up area from 20.76per centin 2001 to 35.68per centin 2017. On the other
hand, negative growth has been found in other classes i.e. cropland water body and vegetation cover. The
rapid growth in built up area at the expense of agricultural lands, natural vegetation and open spaces has
bound to have serious environmental consequences for the already vulnerable and earthquake prone city of
Dehradun and therefore sustainable planning is required to make the city resilient. |

Author : Dr. P.V. Srinivas |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :For a breach of contract the remedies are available
in right in personam. Parties to the contract can file a suit on
other party for damages. Generally damages are nominal or
substantial damage. In certain circumstances the parties to
the contract can directly move to the High Court or Supreme
Court under Article 226 or Article 32 for remedies. For breach
of contract the aggrieved party generally seeks remedy in the
Civil Court but the procedure is lengthy and sometimes the
aggrieved party may not get expected relief from the Civil
Court, especially when the opposite party is Government. It is
very difficult for the plaintiff to get appropriate remedy under these circumstances. It is advisable to the
aggrieved party to move High Court or Supreme Court to get quick remedy against the Government and

MADHU LIMAYE’S VIEWS ON SOCIALISM |
Author : Dr. Neelam Pandey |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Madhu Limaye was a leading personality among
modern socialist leaders. Limaye was socialist but he was
not the follower of Marx. He had no faith in rigid Marxism.
The Marxian concept of dialectical materialism never
appealed Limaye. He has realized that Marxian materialistic
interpretation of History is useful concept provided that is
not applied dogmatically. Socialism according o Limaye
undoubtedly presents bewildering variety of forms and
doctrines, and this alas is not necessarily an index of its
vitality for analysis. In a discussion of socialism, Limaye feels
the central problem is of the social change. The problem of social change is acute in the undeveloped
countries where the primary task of organizing and creating the productive forces is yet to be performed.
Limaye also fought for the equal status of women in every walk of life. We can see that Limaye’s Socialism
also included social reforms.

CRITICAL OVERVIEW OF SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BETWEEN INDIA & CHINA |
Author : Prin.Dr.V.S.Adigal and Asst. Prof. Pranita G. Joshi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :India and China both are agrarian economies. China is
number one in the population followed by India. Cropping
pattern of both the countries is same as both countries are
leading in production of food grains, Pulses and Milk etc. Both
were under the shadow of colonialism, and got independence
on the same timeline i.e. India got independence in 1947
whereas China got the same in 1948. Both countries are
geographically very giant with huge population so the common
line between the two nations has to feed the population is
their prime motive. Both the countries are relying on planned
economies. Geo-political issues are somewhat same, still today China is quite spearheading than that of
India. That doesn’t mean India is not growing. Though both the economies are performing well at their own
level still India has to address to huge extent to the sectors such Agriculture, Industries, Service, Defense,
Space and Technology and Research and Development etc. Instead of just boasting upon our victory if India
seek keenly the development of our neighbor, it would realize that to what extent we need to tap the
untapped potential that we treasures. Though India is known to be as a robust economy, China is emerging
aggressively as a third world economy. China has dramatically increased its participation rate from almost
zero in the mid-1990s to a level of over-involvement in international organizations for its level of
development. Here researcher is trying to show comparative glimpses of both these giant economies with
respect to Agriculture, Industry and service sectors, position of both the economies in different indices and
bilateral trade in between the same nations etc. Researcher is trying to show an impetus that India should
learn the strategies of China and accountable enough to spearhead the global economy. |

BABASAHEB BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR’S VISION TO ACHIEVE THE INCLUSION OF THE MARGINALISED WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO RIGHT OF EDUCATION FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED CHILDREN |
Author : Shruti Kirti Rastogi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Everybody has the right to be educated and by its
means become empowered to evolve. Education should be
free in the primary and upper primary and fundamental
stages. Basic training for each citizen should be imperative, be
it in the global or the national context. The marginalised
sections of the society include various stakeholders who
despite being integral to the fabric of our nation remain
disadvantaged. This ambit also includes the differently abled
children whose rights to education are not only undeniable
but essential as well. The 86th Amendment of the Constitution of India ensures the right to education to every
child. Uttar Pradesh is among the few states in India which has implemented and notifies the Right to
Education Act for all the children of 6-14 years of age for getting free and compulsory education. Noticeably,
the Right to Education Act’s provision for the differently abled children is mandatory and free education to
the age group from 6 to 18 years. In the past decade, education of children with disabilities has seen a
paradigm shift from segregated education in separate schools to inclusive education in regular schools along
with the normal children. Successful implementation of inclusive education requires consideration of policy
matters, legislation reforms, financial resources, human resources, infrastructural resources and intellectual
resources. There is an urgent need for providing competencies at various levels for inclusion to be successful.
As the Chairman of Drafting Committee, the First Law Minister of Independent India and Bharat Ratna Dr.
Bhimrao Ambedkar fought for the inclusion of disabled in framing his vision of the inclusive society. His aim
was to make a society based on social justice. Babasaheb has given equal status to the disabled through
various provisions in the Indian constitution for strengthening and upliftment of the position of disabled. |

Author : S. Irissappan and Dr. E. Ramganesh |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :“Education is the single most important factor in
achieving rapid economic development and technological
progress… in all branches of national life education becomes
the focal point of planned development,” (GOI, 1961). The
Indian Higher Education System has established itself as the
largest system in the world in terms of number of institutions
and third largest in terms of student enrollment after China
and USA (MHRD, 2012) However, the access to higher
education is measured in term of Gross Enrolment Ratio,
which is a ratio of persons enrolled in higher education institutions to total population of the persons in age
group of 18 to 23 years. As per UNESCO estimate, at least 20 per cent of GER in higher education is a
prerequisite for rapid socio economic development of country (Chauhan, 2010). The access in higher
education has increased over the years, 10% of GER was found in the year 2000.However it is increased 24.3
% in 2015-16, followed by 25.2 percent in 2016 -17(MHRD, 2018). Indian higher education is more reliable,
competent to that the coming generation can be more skillful to face the challenges in their life. It is in this
context, the paper makes its attempt to highlight the GER of Indian higher education at present scenario.

Author : S. Uma Shankar and Dr. R. Subramanian |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Judo had its origin in the ancient Japanese art of
jujutsu, a system of hand-to-hand combat. Randori training is
a free exercise training which is practiced under conditions of
actual contest. It includes throwing, choking, holding the
opponent down, and bending or twisting of the arms.
Uchikomi training is repetition training and is used in Judo to
refer to the repeated practice of a throwing motion up to the
point where the throw would actually be executed. The
purpose of the study was to determine the effect of randori
and uchikomi training on stress among junior state level
judokas. To achieve the purpose of the study, forty five judokas were randomly selected from Tamil Nadu
state junior state championship in the age group of 18 to 21 years. They were assigned into three groups of
which one group participated in randori training, second group participated in uchikomi training and the
third group served as control group. The training programme was scheduled for three days a week and each
training session consist of 45 minutes including warm up and cool down exercises. Analysis of covariance
(ANCOVA) statistical technique was used to test the adjusted post-test mean differences among randori
training and uchikomi training groups and the adjusted post-test result was significant, the scheffe’s post-hoc
test was used to determine the significance of the paired mean differences. Randori training made significant
reduction on stress among junior state level judokas due to the six weeks of randori training. It was
concluded that randori training can be better utilized for controlling stress than uchikomi training among
junior state level judokas. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Background:Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (NET) consist of
uncommon, acute, life-threatening mucocutaneous diseases. They reveal a hypersensitivity reaction and may
be due to medications, infections and neoplasias. Objective: The objective of this study is to report a clinical
case of a child, who developed SJS by CBZ and perform a review of the literature. Case report: Escolar, S.B.R,
female, 9 years old, coming from Manaus attended in the Hospital Samel Pronto (Manaus, Amazonas), with a
history of 3 days of odynophagia already in use of Azithromycin. The physical examination findings in the ICU
showed a very severe and anasarcted patient, developing a septic shock, with a foul-smelling content in the
nasogastric, acyanotic, icteric (2 + / 4 +), afebrile, hypotensive, dehydrated, normocorate and sedated
patients. Conclusions: The HLA alleles of the patient in question are not among the most frequent in the
literature, however, she is not a descendant of Asians. Patient care should be taken over the prescription of
the drug, since CBZ is well reported in the literature promoting SJS. Further studies on the frequency of alleles
associated with the presence of SJS need to be documented in order for the health team to be alert to
patients orientations about possible reactions. |

A SYSTEMATIC STUDY ON VARIOUS SOFTWARE DEFECTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON SOFTWARE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT |
Author : Meer Tauseef Ali and Dr .Syed Abdul Sattar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :As new Software project success measures are being
discussed, the projects failing to be complete within the
traditional constraints continue to hamper major
corporations, global business and Government agencies.
Even though majority of projects fail to be completed on time
and on budget every year, trends are not showing any big
improvements in these areas. As large projects continue to
face performance issues, project managers can relate project
size to increases in severity and frequency of many common
project challenges. During review of many of these surveys
the correlation between project size and project failure is evident. Global business specifically to IT projects
different methodologies do not provide a large enough benefit to combat the challenges of increased project
size. The objective of this study is to define and implement Defect Prevention mechanism, for the various
stages of software project development, to reduce the quantity of defects and then to determine a strategy
for decreasing the testing effort needed for development projects in an organization. |

METHODS OF MEASURING ADVERTISING EFFECTIVENESS |
Author : N. Logambal and Dr. R. Kannan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Promoting is gone for enhancing the business volume
of a worry so its viability can be assessed by its effect on
deals. The greater part of the directors trust that the
advertising straightforwardly influences the business volume
and thus they assess the adequacy of the promoting effort by
the expansion in the business volume. The intensity of this
multivariable factorial structure is clarified by G.H.Brown,
previous Fords Director of Marketing Research. As it is
extremely hard to quantify the immediate impact of
publicizing on organizations benefits or deals, most firms depend vigorously on backhanded measures. So as
to be successful, the commercial must pick up introduction. The presumption of this kind of measure is that
there is an immediate connection between the notices and the mindfulness. Buyers for the most part use
notices as a methods for getting data about the item, brand or the producer. . It appears from the
examination of the above techniques for estimating viability that specifically or in a roundabout way changes
in deals or benefits are taken as the estimating bar of the adequacy of the promoting. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Ocotea neesiana (Miq.) Kosterm. (Lauraceae) commercially known in the Amazon as "louro-aritu"
was widely used for decades in civil construction but there is little knowledge pertaining to its chemical and
anatomy of wood. The objective this study was to evaluate the composition of essential oil, technological
aspects and contribute to the identification of louro-aritu wood from demolition. Thus, a part of demolition
wood used at least the last forty-five years as roofing structure was submitted to volatile constituents
extraction through hydrodistillation in a Clevenger system. (1.70-1.87) associated with the general Analyzes
of anatomical characteristics confirmed the identity of the wood as belonging to species Ocotea neesiana
(Miq.). Kosterm. Basic density (0.69 g cm3) and anisotropy coefficient characteristics confirm the
technological potential this wood for producing several artifacts. The chemical identification of essential oil
was carried out by gas chromatography, the monoterpenes a-terpineol (53.89%), a-borneol (16.20%) and
fenchol (9.80%) showed to be predominant. In this study was also evidenced that the essential oil producing
cells of this wood are individualized and only release the volatile compounds after their rupture. |

Abstract :Hepatitis C is a viral, infectious and contagious
disease that represents a serious public health problem of
global, national and regional distribution. The general
objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical-laboratory
profile and therapeutic response of patients with Hepatitis C
to the direct-acting antiviral drugs (AADs) treated at an
outpatient clinic linked to a university hospital located in the
city of Manaus/AM. About the methodology, this is an
observational, descriptive and retrospective study, with a
quantitative approach, of a series of cases, notified and confirmed of hepatitis C, making up a sample of 18
(eighteen) patients, attended at the Ambulatory Araújo Lima (AAL), linked to the University Hospital Getúlio
Vargas (HUGV), Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), from January 2016 to January 2018. Demographic,
clinical, and laboratory data on patients were collected from medical records. A review was also carried out
in the literature, to base the research carried out theoretically. The results found lead to the following
conclusion: the disease had a major involvement at the age of 61, of which 55.5% were male and 44.5%
female, with a predominance of men, data compatible with the national profile. It was observed that
genotype type 1 is more frequent, with 83.4%, followed by genotype 3, with 16.6%. This genotypic pattern is
compatible with the pattern found in several places in the country. With therapeutic success rates, which
reach 96 to 100%, the AADs can allow the possibility of eradication of the disease in the world and in Brazil in
the next years. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The management of pirarucu (Arapaima Gigas) has been carried out by the traditional communities
of Amazonas, especially the municipality of Fonte Boa since 2002. This activity consists of annual and joint
work among communities and institutions of Technical Assistance, where the community organization,
counting , monitoring and surveillance of lakes are part of this process. The minimum size for the capture of
Pirarucu was established under the rules of the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable
Natural Resources (IBAMA) in 150 cm, which is released for areas that have a fishing agreement and
Conservation Units. The present work consists of a descriptive analysis on the Pirarucu Length Structure
(Arapaima Gigas) managed in the middle Solimões River / Amazonas - Brazil. The objective was to analyze
the morphological aspects related to size (Total Length), gender and gonadal stage females caught during
fishing. For data collection, the fishery monitoring charts were used in the Database of the Institute of
Sustainable Development of Fonte Boa / AM. Data from 33,395 specimens collected during the period from
2013 to 2016 were analyzed. Of these, 17,038 were females and 16,357 malais, being in the year 2016 and
2014 to larger number of females captured, totaling 5,458 species, and in the years of 2013 and 2015 they
presented higher numbers of males caught 7.710. In relation to the total length are being captured in greater
quantity species with measures between 161cm to 170 cm. Only in 2016 was it possible to find a specimen
with 291cm of total length, female in the gonadal stage III. Regarding the gonadal stage, it was possible to
notice that there is an index of 1.669 that is found in the gonadal stage I (without ova) and presenting the
Total Length - CT between 150cm and 160cm. With this same measure we found 111 species in the IV
gonadal stage (mature oocytes). In this way we can verify that a greater number of species are being
captured that have not yet reached their stage of maturation.

ADULT’S SECRETS BURIED IN CHILDREN’S GARDEN: A POSTCOLONIAL READING OF FRANCES HODGSON BURNETT’S THE SECRET GARDEN |
Author : Satyajit Roy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Children’s books have a long history around the world,
and they have absorbed into themselves the elements of folk
and fairy tale, and the oral tradition. It perceptively began
maturing with the stories of ancient myths or folk-tales with its
aim to amuse children as well as to teach them. But the genre of
children’s literature, in spite of its apparently-fantastical
appearance, began to earn its place among serious writings
because of its concern with different important issues of society.
During 19th and 20th century, the events like Economic crisis, rise
of Imperialism, development of science and industries, the Wars, the fights for Independence all had left
influences in the writings of children too and these wide range of global issues made children’s literature
more appealing to its readers (adults) and scholars. My paper will re-examine the children’s novel The Secret
Garden in postcolonial perspective to bring out the issues relating to racisms and imperialism, domination,
power politics, including Western views of the “Orient” and establish the consequences of reading a
children’s text that contains imperialistic ideologies like England as a ‘better’ place than India and many
more.

WHAT I LEARNT FROM BRIDGET: READING CHICKLIT |
Author : Prof. Sarvajit Mukerji |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Chicklit emerged as a sub-genre of women’s writing in
the West in the late 1990s and was immediately hailed as the
new women’s writing.Chicklit, which always has a single
working woman as the protagonist, makes for light and
amusing reading. Nevertheless, it merits serious consideration
for what it says about women, and for its relationship with
feminism. The present paper takes two texts, the iconic Bridget
Jones’s Diary which may be said to have started the trend, and a
recent novel I Quit,What Next? as two representative texts, from the UK and India and seeks to tease out its
vexed relations with the experiences of contemporary women and feminism. |

ETHICAL BACKGROUND OF JAINISM |
Author : Dr. Doreswamy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :It cannot be controverted that human nature is
essentially end-oriented. This en-orientation of man implies
that human life is a striving towards certain ends. In other
words, “it is thoroughly teleological that it cannot be
understood apart from what it is seeking to become”. The
discipline which deals with the process of seeking and striving
in terms of good and bad, and consequently in terms of right
and wrong is termed Normative ethics and the judgments like
A was a good man, to harm someone is wrong are known as
Normative judgments of Value and Obligation respectively. Again, the discipline which aims at philosophical
analysis of ethical terms or concepts like ‘right’, ‘good’, etc., which asks the meaning and definition of such
terms, seeks justification of normative judgments, discusses their nature, and is concerned with the analysis
of freedom and responsibility is termed Meta-ethics. Besides, there is descriptive historical inquiry to explain
the phenomenon of morality in the various periods of history. Thus normative ethics, meta-ethics, and
descriptive ethics constitute three kinds of ethical inquiry. IN the present paper, I propose to look at Jaina
ethics from the normative and meta-ethical perspectives, to the exclusion of its descriptive historical inquiry.
In other words, I shall not be describing the Achara of the Householder and that of the Muni in the various
periods of history, but shall be dealing with some of the questions regarding value and obligation and metaethics, from the point of view of Jaina ethics in order to bring out the contribution of the Jaina to the above
ethical questions. |

philosophy, as well as in our daily life. This paper has
tried to give an account of the Lokayata concept of Ome.
To explain this, it is discussed at first about the various

Then it is discussed here regarding the Lokayata

the Lokayata acceptance of linear Ome, denying the
notion of cyclic time.To establish the notion of linear
time, it is analysed by the Lokayata about their
acceptance of mere percepOon and denial of inference as source of valid knowledge. In this context, this
arOcle has explained shortly about Jayarasis Ta?vapaplavasim?ha to express the Lokayata method of
philosophical thinking. Also to understand clearly the Lokayata noOon of Ome, the controversy of Lokayata
school with others schools of Indian Philosophy(as Bouddha,Jaina,Nyaya,AdvaitaVedanta, and Sam?khya) has

Author : Pratidnya Prakash Mane |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Rural–Urban fringe is a dynamic region with
imprecise boundary associated with the growth and
developmental activities taking place in and around the city
region. Various developmental processes act as a catalyst in
bringing about socio-economic change both at micro and
macro level. These changes have positive as well as negative
implications for urbanization of the region. Highways, as an
agent of integration of rural and urban economic activities,

pioneering work in various fields, in the course of which they
helped to raise the community standard of life, to build character and to broaden the outlook on life, because
of their principles of love, service, and sacrifice. This paper throws light on the contributions of christian
missionaries to the development of karnataka. Christian missionaries were responsible for introduction of

Christian Missionaries who came to India with the sole objective of propagating their faith, found
communication as the primary obstacle. Hence, they started mastering the native language and imparting

SECTOR-SPECIFIC MUTUAL FUNDS IN INDIA: A STUDY ON THE PERFORMANCE OF ‘DIRECT PLANS’ OF BANKING FUNDS |
Author : Gobindalal Mandal and CMA Dr. Samyabrata Das |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Sector-specific funds are volatile as their investments
are very narrow and concentrated. Since the investment is
focused mainly on one sector, the risk is definitely higher.
Therefore, sector-specific funds generally attract risk-takers
who are aggressive. These funds are for savvy and seasoned
investors who are familiar with equities and understand the
unique investment proposition offered by such funds. ‘Direct
Plan’ has a lower expense ratio than the ‘Regular Plan’
because of the non-involvement of the intermediaries. As a
result, the returns from the ‘Direct Plan’ are on the higher
side than that of the ‘Regular Plan’ due to the absence of the intermediary commission. But investment in
the ‘Direct Plan’ requires substantial skill and knowledge. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The Indian Banking Industry is full of competition
due to liberalization and its performance is the vital
indicator of economic performance of the country.
Employee productivity is an important criterion to measure
the performance of banks. So the present paper intends to
analyze employee productivity of sixteen private sector
banks during the second reform phase. The parameters
used to depict employee productivity are net profit per
employee, spread per employee, interest income per
employee, total expenditure per employee and deposits per
employee. The tools used to measure employee productivity include Herfindahl’s Index of Concentration and
Exponential Growth Rate (EGR). The result depicts that Federal bank occupies the first rank in terms of net
profit per employee and spread per employee because the Exponential Growth Rate of Federal Bank is
highest among all the private sector banks with respect to these two variables. Among all the banks only
IndusInd bank is showing negative exponential growth rate in respect to spread per employee variable. In
regard to exponential growth rate of interest income per employee and deposit per employee, South Indian
Bank is at first rank. Furthermore with respect to total expenditure per employee Nainital Bank is at top
position and IndusInd Bank occupies last rank i.e., it is at better position than other banks.

methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus in patients
population is a major public health concern. The coagulase
positive species S. aureus is well documented as a human
opportunistic pathogen and responsible for more serious
infection. The purpose of present study was to evaluate
molecular identification and characterization MRSA in
Vidarbha region. Materials and Methods: Total 329 MRSA
isolates were obtained from three tertiary care clinical centres
of Vidarbha region by disc diffusion and MIC method. The presence of mecA gene was determined by PCR
among MRSA isolates. The PCR products of 16S rRNA and methicillin resistance gene were Sequences and
verified by BLAST search using the NCBI website. Result and Discussion: The prevalence of MRSA in Vidarbha
region was found 60.92%. The novel finding of this study is all the tested MRSA strains were found positive to
mecA gene. The blast analysis results were showed the 100% matching of both sequences of mecA of B26
isolates with USA 300 strain. Conclusion: The diverse genetic group of clinical MRSA isolates found globally,
however four distinct genotypes of MRSA strains were identified among hospitalized patients in ICU. Our
study revealed that ST8/SCCmec/IV/PVL clone of MRSA with multidrug resistance was found in hospitals of
central region of India. Study proposed the continuous and nationwide MRSA surveillance studies are

PERCEPTION OF CLASSROOM COMMUNICATION BARRIERS OF THE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF GENERAL DEGREE COLLEGES: ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH AND PREDICTION FROM THEIR ATTITUDE TOWARDS COMMUNICATION SKILLS |
Author : Subhas Chandra Roy and Suman Jana |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Communication is a process of transfer of information
through vocal, written, visual or non-verbal media. Being able
to communicate effectively is the most important of all life
skills that can improve all aspects of a student’s life. The
present study attempts to measure undergraduate students’
perception of classroom communication barriers and their
attitude towards communication skills, and tries to detect their
relationship. Data was collected from 204 undergraduate
students of general degree colleges under Vidyasagar
University of West Bengal randomly. The tools used to collect data were: ‘Perception of Classroom
Communication Barriers’ (reliability=0.632) and ‘Attitude towards Communication Skills’ (reliability=0.642).
The students were found to experience moderate to low level of perceived classroom communication barriers
(mean=63.324, SD=8.88). Also they had strong positive attitude towards communication skills (mean=79.108,
SD=6.94). Significant and negative correlation was found between the perception of classroom
communication barriers and attitude towards communication skills (r=-0.210). In this regard, the coefficients
of correlation for the perception of physical and psychological barriers were significant whereas the other
two coefficients (perception of language and background barriers) were not significant. Further, 4.4% of the
variance in the students’ perception of classroom communication barriers could be explained through the
attitude towards communication skills. The mathematical model was found to be significant at 0.05 level
(F=9.308). A regression equation was also developed accordingly to predict the perception of classroom
communication barriers from the attitude towards communication skills. This study may prove its importance
to detect the existence of different classroom communication barriers among the students across different
grade levels, and to find out ways to minimize these barriers by improving their communication skills.

SCHOOL CURRICULUM FOR COUNTERING THE MENACE OF BULLYING |
Author : Dr. Piku Chowdhury |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :While a whole-school policy is vital for creating a
framework in which incidents of bullying can be dealt with
effectively over the long term, it is also important to consider
preventative work of a positive kind, so that incidents are less
likely to occur in the first place. A curriculum which is rooted in
co-operative values can create the kind of context where
bullying is unlikely to flourish and fostering such a climate
might be part of a whole-school policy. In addition, such
curriculum work can help raise awareness and empathy,
important aspects of the first stage of policy development. This
paper remains a humble attempt at exploring the curricular modifications in schools to counter the menace
of bullying. |

"THE REVIVAL OF LANGUAGE IN THE PLAYS OF JOHN OSBORNE" |
Author : Dr. V. Vijay Sarthi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Though drama is prominent literary form, it does
depend on non-literary accessories like stage, actors and
spectators, for its survival and success. Like any other form
of art, drama attempts to present the emotional content of
life, but as it does this function with the help of non-art
paraphernalia, many times drama also is described as a
composite art. This is an indication to suggest or even to
assert that drama is inseparably linked with stage, actors
and spectators. It is true this organic and vital connection
with the stage, actors and spectators is essential at least at the time of its composition. The playwright must
be aware of the social ethos and the pulse of the people, and to make his presentation of life appropriate and
lively, he expresses it through the popular idiom i. e. dialogue. Actually the part played by dialogue in drama
need not be over-emphasised. A proper dialogue is needed not only to establish the necessary relationship
between the actors and the audience, but also to justify that the vision of life presented on the stage is a
lively image. To achieve this a playwright wants to grasp the contemporaray idiom and to transform it into
an affective means of creation and communication. A cursory review of the successful ages of drama would
reveal that, whenever the popular idiom could be transformed and transported by the dramatist on to the
stage the popular taste welcomed it. It is repeatedly proved that the form of drama as a real depiction of
contemporary life, as an authentic voice of contemporary ethos, and also as an aesthetic form blending art
with popular taste, draws its vitality from dialogue. |

SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORKPLACE: THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE |
Author : Prof. Axaykumar N. Prajapati |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Sexual harassment at work is generally preferable to
institutional tolerance such as workplace features. However,
sexual harassment can occur during the inequality of
encouragement between the supervisor and the worker. In
particular, due to high-voltage encouragement for the
supervisor and low-volatile encouragement for the supervisor,
the supervisor with the reinstatement of sexual harassment to
workers becomes a shortage of workers. In return for positive
performance reviews or product-related bonuses, supervisors
can find sexual preferences. Power asymmetry can also be a contributing factor. The concept of the power
concerned can motivate supervisors to ignore the institutional rules related to sexual harassment
inappropriate at work. Power asymmetry can also have an impact on the workers understanding of their
ability to get an alternative job. When analysing the aggregate micro-datasets in the garment factories in
Haiti, Jordan, Vietnam and Nicaragua, we inculcate inconvenient support among supervisors and workers,
and the power impaired between the supervisor and the workers; think of the high concern that sexual

AS A GREEN COMPOUND FOR THE ADAPTATION OF ALDEHYDES AND KETONES TO GEM-DIHYDROPEROXIDES USING AQUEOUS 30% H2O2 WITH REFERENCE TO BORIC ACID |
Author : Mohit R. Joshi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Mani-dihydroprooxide is known to be an important
arbitrator in the synthesis of anti-malarial malaria, due to
almost constant peroxide derivatives of aldehydhids and
ketones. Also, because of the high levels of peroxidic oxygen,
some of these compounds are used in oxidation reactions as
solid, efficient, and powerful oxidants. Generally, these
compounds are synthesized by the precocidation of aldehydes
and ketones. Therefore, in this work, the importance of beedihydroproxide has been explored as a effective, cheap,
commercially available, green, and rich solid catalyst of boric
acid, which is 30% hydrozone solvent in acetonitis, peroxide at room temperature, for aldehydes and
peroxides of ketones. This work has been studied both aromatic and alfactory aldehydes and ketone types.
The response was run in a few times. High yield and net refinement of products were obtained. In all the
reactions, no sub-product has been observed. This method is handy, mild, almost green, efficient and
available. |

Author : Dr. Debasish Joddar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :With the development of microentrepreneurship
under microfinance programme in rural India, the issue of
long-term sustainability is a big challenge to the researcher
of social sciences. Performance of an enterprise or an
entrepreneur can also be judged in terms of ‘efficiency’. The
question regarding the compatibility of ‘sustainability’ and
‘efficiency’ comes up in the forefront. Based on a primary
survey in West Bengal in India, the study attempts to
determine average level of sustainability of microenterprises
and also seeks to explore the performance of rural micro
enterprise activities by investigating efficiency. In order to determine level of sustainability and efficiency,
Principal Component Analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) have been used as a tool respectively.
The analysis suggests that 97% of sustainable microenterprises have performed at higher level of scale
efficiency. It highlights the fact that sustainable microenterprises have been found to be efficient too. Few
microenterprises having lower Composite Sustainability Index suffer from pure technological inefficiency.
Some sustainable microenterprises have been found to perform well and some enterprises, though
sustainable, have been found to be lagging behind due to lack of access to information, non-availability of
market as well as poor infrastructural facilities. |
