Mathematics is an important subject of learning for all including children with hearing impairment in schools. The prescribed Mathematics textbooks contain several typical mathematical terms. Understanding and recalling of these terms play an integral role in learning Mathematics. The major factors influencing the recall of mathematical terms are familiarity, concreteness, imagery and signability (Lang & Pagliaro, 2007). The present study aimed to compare the abilities of students with and without hearing impairment in recalling the mathematical terms.

Open recruitment process is adapted by Public Sector Unit's (PSU) in India through a common entrance examination Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers (GATE) which takes place for the field of engineering. It generally clashes with the final year examination of the colleges which posses' problems both for the company and the applicants. The research was carried out during the summer internship period at one of the leading oil companies in India at their corporate office. Due to lot of expenses involved by the company and genuine reasons by the candidates, it became necessary to find out a way that could reasonably solve the problem of both the parties involved.

Optimal nutrition is essential for athletes. Coaches could influence dietary habits of athletes,since they are important figures in the athlete's lives. The objectives of this study were to measure and compare sports nutritional knowledge of school and college coaches and to evaluate the dietary recommendations by these coaches to their athletes. In the present investigation a total sample of 70 coaches were taken with equal number of coaches training school and college athletes.. A 5-section questionnaire was developed to obtain data on demographic characteristics, weight management practices, dietary and fluid recommendations before, during and after training, knowledge on female athlete triad and sports nutrition.

This was primarily recognized as an abnormal chromosome and thereafter named as “Philadelphia Chromosome”. This translocation results in the Bcr-Abl fusion gene and activation of protein tyrosine kinase (PTK). Mainly, malignant transformation of Bcr-Abl is dependent on the protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) activity. Normally, c-Abl1 is involved in cellular processes and is rigorously controlled in order to prevent oncogenic activity but this activity of c-Abl1 protein is negatively regulated by its SH3 domain, and deletion of the SH3 domain results in transformation of Abl1 into an oncogene

Abstract: Juvenile delinquency is one of the serious social problem not only in under developed countries but it is equally serious problem in developed countries, though the living conditions welfare measures and development facilities are more. The reason of juvenile delinquency varies from place to place and culture to culture. In some nation poverty is the cause whereas in prosperous countries social factors are more prominent. Impact of mass media, access to new technology, materialistic culture, loose control of social values and deteriorating family system are some of the main reasons responsible for pulling children in anti social activities as per the Juvenile Justice Act. In India considerable numbers of children are engaged in criminal activities.

Nutritional status is one of the crucial indicator of health services and economic development of the nation. India is one of the countries where 40% children are mal nourished. There are various reasons for malnourishment. Due to poverty parents are not able to feed their children with appropriate nutrients, vitamins and minerals. To prevent malnutrition government of India has launched very prestigious programme “Integrated Child Development Scheme” with the assistance of UNICEF. Under this programme supplementary feeding programme, immunization, growth monitoring, health checkup, supplementation for the pregnant and lactating mothers, early childhood education etc, programmes are being provided.

Psychiatric disturbances affect most people in this world. Medical care is not enough to overcome these problems. What is required is the restoration of the mental health and the overall health of the patient concerned. To this effect, however, the Western approach is found to be inadequate. Instead, the Indian psychological approach to mental health and health is said to be optimal. The world's biggest employment Guarantee programme Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) was notified on 7th September 2005 and came into force from 2nd February 2006. It was launched by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly Government of Karnataka formulated the scheme MGNREGS and it came into force from 2nd February 2006. Karnataka implemented this programme in 3 phases. Around 83,517 Lakh households were given employment. MGNREGA is not just an employment provider, it is a programme designed to create rural infrastructure like roads connectivity, minor irrigation works, public buildings, water supply, water conservation and harvesting, drought relief, forestation etc. and to empower the women in rural areas, especially from the lower strata of the society.

Quantitative Real-Time PCR is the conversion of the fluorescent signals from each reaction into a numerical value for each sample. A relative quantification assay is used to analyze changes in gene expression in a given sample relative to another reference sample.

Traditionally India is an agricultural nation and occupation of majority of its inhabitants has been agriculture and related activities. Fibre reinforced composites due to their high stiffness to weight ratio and strength to weight ratio are being considered for liquid nitrogen cylinders. Tests have been shown that graphite/epoxy composites have tendency to micro crack at very low temperatures. In the case of cylinders these micro cracks can act as passages for the cryogenic liquid to penetrate which could ultimately lead to failure of the whole structure, hence it is very important to understand the fracture behavior of fibre composites at cryogenic temperatures before they are used in cryogenic storage systems.

Astaxanthin provides health benefits to humans and that is also used in mariculture feed to enhance tha color of salman flesh. The vegetative stage optimization is one of the difficult and most important step in astaxanthin production process. The potent strain of Haematococcus pluvialis Flotow collected from Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand, India. Pithoragarh is located at 29.58°N 80.22°E. It has an average elevation of 1,514 metres (4,967 feet). In the present study, we optimised the effect of pH, light, NaNO , K HPO , NaHCO for enhanced the 3 2 4 3 vegetative growth of Haematococcus pluvialis. The maximum level of growth rate, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid were observed in pH – 7.0, light - 12 hrs th Light : 12 hrs Dark, NaNO – 0.3 M, K HPO – 0.08M, NaHCO – 0.08 M. on 40 day of 3 2 4 3 incubation period.

Psychological variables have a significant influence on the performance of athletes. Self-confidence is one of the vital factor responsible for success of the most of the athletes. The present investigation was aimed to explore differences among three levels of the hockey players represented intervarsity inter-collegiate and inter-school levels. 300 hockey players (100 in each group) were recruited as potential subjects to explore differences on the dimension of self-confidence. ANOVA was employed for statistical treatment to the obtained data collected on Sports Self-Confidence Inventory developed by Kaul and Mittal (2003).

Rumen fluid samples from adult Indian cattle (Bos indicus) were collected and observed to study the morphology of rumen ciliate protozoa belonging to genus Entodinium. The present paper deals with the morphology of a new species Entodinium commanum from the rumen of Indian cattle. The body measurements, frequency distribution and variations of the characters are recorded, critical comments are made on its specific identity, Entodinium commanum is characterized by having small size, elongated, triangular slightly curved ventrally and comma wedge shaped body with humpback appearance, body is pointed, posteriorly, Thin wedge shaped macronucleus placed high up near a adorsal lip.

The need for achieving food security is felt significantly in the recent years due to enormous pressure from the ever-increasing population in India. Food security in India has to be understood as a distress phenomenon, as with marginal increase in their incomes over time they are forced to cut down on their food consumption to meet other pressing demands of health and education that were not considered important in the past. High economic growth rates have failed to improve food security in India leaving the country facing a crisis in its rural economy. The polycrystalline samples of the mixed spinel series Ni Mg Cr Fe O with 0.5 0.5 x 2-x 4 x= 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 have been prepared by standard ceramic technique and were studied by means of X-ray Diffraction and IR absorption spectroscopy. The X-ray analysis showed that the samples are formed in single-phase spinel structure. The lattice parameter 'a' obtained from X-ray diffraction data decreases with the increase of compositional parameter x. The infrared absorption spectra of all the samples of the -1 -1 series studied at room temperature in the range of 200cm - 1000cm showed two main bands. The force constants K and K have been obtained from the IR absorption data. 0 t The force constants have been observed to decrease with the internuclear separation for both the octahedral and tetrahedral sites.
