The aim of this research is to investigate the optimization of cutting parameters (cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut) for surface roughness in turning of AISI 8620 alloy steel using coated cemented carbide insert. Experiments have been carried out based on Taguchi L27 standard orthogonal array design with three process parameters namely cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut for surface roughness. The objective function has been chosen in relation to surface roughness for quality target. Optimal parameters contribution of the PSG-A141 Lathe machine turning operation was obtained. The analysis of variance is applied to identify the most significant factor.

The growth and popularity of online social networks have created a new world of collaboration and communication. Facebook, which is one of the most popular and commonly used social networks connecting millions of users together, has been embraced by many educational institutions in the Western world in order to facilitate enhanced communication, collaboration and research. However, the usage and effectiveness of Facebook in the Arab World remain unexplored. The present study aims to fill the gap by examining the extent and intensity of Facebook usage among King Saud University’s students and investigates their reasons/purposes for using this social software. In addition, it is intended to understand and measure students’ attitudes and perceptions and the challenges and concerns associated with the use of Facebook in education. As expected, above 97% of students in the survey had a Facebook account and younger users significantly found to be spending more time on Facebook than their older counterparts. The paper concludes that the phenomenon of Facebook usage in Saudi Arabia is rising among university students as it provides individuals with a way of maintaining and strengthening social ties, which can be beneficial in both social and academic settings.

The present paper investigates the performance of Indian banking industry across the different categories of banks during the post reform era using latest published data from RBI. The measurement of efficiency is done using non-parametric Data E nvelopment Analysis (DEA). Three different approaches viz., production approach, intermediation approach and value added approach have been employed to differentiate how efficiency scores vary with changes in inputs and outputs. The findings suggest a positive impact of deregulation measures on the efficiency of Indian banking industry. All categories of banks are found highly efficient in the study period. Foreign banks and nationalized banks emerge 100 per cent efficient under the all three approaches during the entire study period. It is also observed that public sector banks are operating as efficiently as private and foreign banks.

The present study is conducted with an aim to analyze the nature of the science news stories published in Indian dailies. For this research paper, four National dailies are taken in to consideration- two leading English newspapers namely Hindustan Times and Times of India and two leading Hindi dailies namely Hindustan and Dainik Bhaskar. The content analysis technique is employed to study the importance given to scientific news coverage by these Indian newspapers, with an aim to bring out the due importance given to the Science Communication in relation to types of scientific literature published, frequency of news on various subjects, origin of the story (national origin and international origin) and pictorial support in science news articles.

Child labour is an unfortunate reality in many of the world’s poorer countries. It is a complex reality, a burning problem and a universal phenomenon. It is a chronic and deep- rooted problem, peculiar to developing countries, especially India. It is, in fact, a betrayal of child’s rights as a human being and an offence against civilization. Child labour today figures to an astounding 250 million and India holds the dubious distinction of harbouring the largest number of children in servitude. As per Government figures, 185,000 child domestic labourers and another 75,000 children in dhabas etc. out of total number of 12.59 million child labourers exist in the country. However, non-government figure claim that 60 million children are employed full time, including 10 million in dhabas and another 10 million children as domestic help workers (Kaushik: 2008).

The aim of the present research was to study mental health and death anxiety among institutionalized and non- institutionalized senior citizen in relation to gender. The total sample consisted of 120 senior citizen of institutionalized and non- institutionalized. The sample was randomly selected from various areas and various old age home of Pune city. 2x2 factorial research design with 30 senior citizen in each cell representing different level of two independent variable like type of senior citizen(institutionalized and non- institutionalized) and gender (male, female). Mental health scale by Kamlesh Sharma and Death anxiety scale by G.P. Thakur used for data collection. To find out main and interaction effect of two independent variable on mental health and death anxiety two way analysis of variance was used. Results indicate that significant difference existed between institutionalized senior citizen and non- institutionalized senior citizen on their mental health. Significant difference existed between male senior citizen and female senior citizen on death anxiety.

The only reserve for millions of fishermen in the world is the marine resources. They are solely depending upon the sea for their livelihood. Due to marine pollutants, the fishermen as well as the people who consume fish have adverse effect like skin irritations, eye irritation, blindness, lung and liver problems, low fertility and poor birth survival rates. Further, there is a drastic fall of marine fish from 60 per cent in 1990-91 to 36.70 per cent in 2012-2013. The recent research states that the world’s largest landfill is not on land but in the Pacific Ocean. Adding to that, 80 per cent of all marine pollution originates from land-based sources which are primarily industrial, agricultural and urban. Therefore, this research paper focuses on addressing the readers and the policy makers about the extent of pollutants that are submerged in the sea water and its serious effect on both marine and human life. Results indicate that 52.4 per cent of the sample respondents yearly income is less than 1, 00,000 per annum due to depletion of fish in the sea. 45.8 per cent of the sample respondents spend above. 10000 for medical purposes. This investigation aims to develop a mathematical model for prescribing the behavior of an idealized vibrating string. By mathematical model we can calculate theoretical amplitudes for the different harmonics, based on the extent and position of the pluck. In this paperwe are presenting an investigation on the influence of the position and method of plucking a guitar string for the distribution of energy between fundamental tone and overtones. It was done by recording sound samples from an acoustic guitar, and numerically analyzing the data using computer software. Conclusively, it is stated that there were more overtones produced when the string was plucked close to the edge of the guitar. Since the paper was a physics investigation, it examined the matter experimentally, presenting little to no mathematical explanations for the results.

The child is highly receptive to the environment and learning potentials are at its peak.The current study examined the impact of intervention on mental abilities of preschool children. This study was conducted in purposively selected preschool laboratory run under the department of Human Development and Family Studies COHS, CCSHAU Hisar district of Haryana State, India. The sample for the study comprised all the children enrolled in the preschool lab was selected for the present study. McCarthy Scale was administered to all preschoolers to assess their mental abilities. Developed intervention was given to all children of Preschool Laboratory for improving their mental abilities for four months. McCarthy (1972) was administered on 21 last year selected children individually in home situation. Results revealed that children were superior in abilities on block building and tapping sequence at both the testing. In other aspects of perceptual abilities at pre and post testing like puzzle solving, rightleftorientation, draw a design, draw a child and conceptual grouping aspect they lagged behind when compared with the standards. A comparative analysis showed that there were significant differences in pre and post performance of children after intervention program as calculated‘t’ values were statistically proved to be significant for all aspects of verbal, perceptual and quantitative.

Present study was designed to find out the minimum muscular fitness of healthy 11th class girls students between 16 to 18 years of age by applying Kraus Weber Minimum Muscular Fitness Test. 120girls’students’of 11th class of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Bawana, Delhi were selected for the present study. The age limit of the students was 16 to 18 years. Data was collected by applying six tests of Kraus Weber Minimum Muscular Fitness Test ofgirls’students on the same day. The data was analysed by applying simple percentage formula. Result of the study showed that minimum muscular fitness ofgirl’s students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Bawana, Delhi is not very good.

The present study was carried out on Dhukeshwari Temple Pond, the freshwater lentic ecosystem in Deori, District Gondia to obtain the baseline data of Crustaceans with reference to Cultural Eutrophication for the period of 2014-15. As like Rotifers, Crustaceans are also one of the most important biotic components in the freshwater ecosystem as they are integral part of the aquatic food chain, in which they dependent on phytoplanktons and detritus, they contribute to minimize the biomass of phytoplankters. Crustacean becomes most important component of the natural purifying system in Eutrophic waters. The Dhukeshwari Temple Pond is under pressure of anthropogenic activities. In the present observation 27 species of Order Cladocera were recorded from the 06 families, with highest diversity with 08 species in Family Chydoridae and Aloniae with 08 species. In Subclass Copepoda, 04 species were recorded from order Calanoida, 01 with order Harpacticoida and 01 with Cyclopoida. 04 species for Class Ostracoda from Cypridae family are also observed. Their role in determination of the trophic status of pond ecosystem is discussed.

There is a trend of product diversification of sugarcane by product in major sugar manufacturing countries including India. The major byproducts of sugarcane processing consist of bagasse and molasses which have been the major raw materials for producing extractive chemical and biochemical products apart from co-generation of electricity. The study unit of The Ugar Sugar Works Limited in Belgaum district of North Karnataka has been a pioneer in the co-generation of electricity using bagasse in this part of the country. The unit has been engaged in producing ethanol, rectified spirit, denatural spirit and alcohol. The unit has well established distillery. However the study has revealed that the unit has not been able to fully utilize its production capacity in the production of the chemicals and alcohol and to generate higher quality of electricity.

Therefore the present study investigates whether female teachers of primary schools they are facing role conflict, if so, what level and what factors contributing for it. The area of the study has been confined to Shimoga District. The data for the present study collected from primary and secondary sources. 554 female teachers were selected through stratified random sampling method. Role conflict was measured by the Role Conflict scale developed and standardized by the researcher.

The subdivision extends from the first táxon on a smaller scale, 1: 250,000 related to Morphostructure, by the fifth and sixth táxon on a scale of 1: 20,000, with the latter respectively include the forms of strands and current erosion and accumulation processes . The partitioning are grouped into morphostructural unit, morfoescultural unit, morphological units, relief types, types of slopes and current processes. The basin is located in the urban area of the city of Porto Velho - RO, flowing into the right bank of the Rio Madeira. For this work we used GIS techniques to define the geomorphological units, among which remote sensing, the vectorization of geospatial data and map-making.
