In comprehensive stroke care, the focus historically has been on physical rehabilitation and preventing secondary cardiovascular events. However, the growing recognition of post-stroke psychiatric disorders, as highlighted in recent comprehensive reviews and studies, highlights the urgent need for a paradigm shift in stroke management. Beyond physical weakness, stroke survivors often suffer from a range of psychiatric ailments such as depression, anxiety, cognitive impairment, psychosis, and even rare conditions like post-stroke mania and delirium. These conditions not only impair quality of life but also complicate rehabilitation efforts and increase the risk of recurrent stroke.

Microvascular decompression (MVD) is a fundamental treatment and standard procedure for hemifacial spasm (HFS). However, it is difficult to perform when the compressing vessel is the vertebral artery (VA). In addition, cases involving the bilateral VAs are rare, meaning that such surgeries lack precedent; thereby making them difficult. In this report, we describe the successful results of MVD for HFS involving bilateral VAs.

Epidural abscess occurring because of spondylodiscitis requires prompt intervention. Posterior interlaminar and transforaminal endoscopic techniques have gained popularity in the recent past as an effective intervention for discectomy and decompression. Endoscopic techniques can be very promising in treating lumbar epidural abscess. We report a case of ventral epidural abscess resulting from pyogenic spondylodiscitis that was treated successfully by posterior Interlaminar approach.

The presence of internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion in patients presenting with acute ischemic stroke are still debatable. The prevalence of ICA occlusion in India is reported to be above 40%. Various management strategies are reported in the literature for ICA occlusion, with best medical therapy to be administrated urgently in order to prevent further worsening of the symptoms. This study reported the clinical profile, treatment, and outcome at discharge and at 6-month follow up in patients with symptomatic ICA occlusion.

This is more so for resource deficient countries who have to develop productive work force in a market driven economy.

This study aimed to assess the Pulsatility index value as possible significant predictor of functional outcome among acute ischemic stroke patients who received intravenous thrombolytic therapy. Patient and Methods: this is a case series report involved three cases from three different centers in Egypt and UAE, those patients had acute ischemic stroke and received intravenous thrombolytic therapy as per guidelines and they were followed up over a period of three months.
