The Seattle International Film Festival SIFF has acquired the historic Uptown Theater and will re-open it on Oct 20 in conjunction with the opening of its new film centre at Seattle Center.SIFF will transition from its current location at McGraw Hall in the autumn and offer increased seating capacity and additional screens at the new venue.Uptown Theater was originally opened in 1926 and operated in the AMC movie theatre chain until it was closed last winter.
