| Journal Description : | Aim: Social science and especially the religious and philosophical sciences, have an important responsibility in terms of social and scientific research in the field. For the reflection of the constructive and improvable power of science and the earth to be a habitable area, the scientific mentality is necessary to lead society. Journal of Islamic Research provides a medium to be introduced to the world of Islamic thought produced in Turkey and the Islamic world of intellectual knowledge on a global scale, since 1986. The journal aims to improve this function further every passing year, in terms of scope. Besides, the journal archive prioritizes to bequeath, in a sense, the adventure and evolution of thinking to scientific community.
Journal of Islamic Research is a peer-reviewed journal and targets to make use of the experiences of local and foreign professionals. The journal also aims the intellectual consideration of scientific richness of global scale Islamic thought via an analytical method and to emerge the intellectual knowledge of Islamic thought, critically. The journal publishes original research articles about Islam and Islamic thought, philosophy, history, geography, science, art, aesthetics, and literature. Additionally, the journal aims to publish copyrighted articles or their translations that haven’t been published previously, targeting to present the true identity of Islam and, about fundamentals and scientific, social and, cultural issues of Islam. Finally, up to date essays including suggestions, discussions and solutions about today’s human being’s and societies’ problems; scientific book, symposium, panel, conference reviews and scientific interviews will also be published in the journal.
Area: Journal of Islamic Research accepts to publish articles, review essays, biographies and book reviews. Submissions are accepted in Turkish and English contributing to the various fields of Islamic studies such as Quran Research, Tafsir, Hadith, Kalam, Islamic Law, Islamic History and Arts, Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Religious Education, Sufism, Literature, Sociology, Psychology, History of Religions, Movement of Thought, as well as to the various disciplines of Islamic Thought and Science.
Scope: Study and research ofIslamic Thought, Science of Religion, Islamic Science and comparative civilization.
Manuscript Review Process :Journal of Islamic Research is carrying on all publishing process of the manuscripts on electronical platform as online.
By this system; manuscript sending, editor-advisory board reviews, personal information update and manuscript follow-up process of all authors can be done online.
The formal deficiencies of the manuscript (if any) are sent to the author (to the corresponding author if there is more than one author ) upon online system. The process does not continue without completing the formal deficiencies of the manuscript.
The manuscript that has no formal deficiency is sent to the editor for prior review. The editor can decide for the manuscript “to be evaluated by advisors” or “to be corrected by the author (scientific reasons should be determined)” or “not to be put into process”.
The decision about the manuscript that has been rejected after prior review of the editor is sent to all authors via e-mail. All authors can see the jusfification statement of rejection over online system.
The manuscript that has been decided to be put into process is sent to two advisors among advisory board members who are related to the field of the manuscript.
Advisor responses can be various as; “to be published” , “to be published after correction in accordance with the critiques”, “to be re-evaluated after correction in accordance with the critiques” and “not to be published”.
If one of the advisor’s response is “not to be published” and the second advisor disagrees with it, then the editor can decide to send the manuscript to the third advisor (adjudicator advisor) for evaluation .
After completion of advisor responses, the editor review the manuscript by considering the advisors’ opinions. Editor can decide to reject the manuscript or re-evaluate it in accordance with advisor critiques or publish it as the same as it is.
The manuscript that is wanted to be corrected is re-evaluated by the editor after this correction and various final decisions can be made about it as “to be re-evaluated by the same advisors”, “to be published” or “rejected”.
Acceptance letter for the manuscript that is decided to be published is sent to all authors via e-mail.
Rejection letter for the manuscript that is decided to not to be published is sent to all authors via e-mail. The authors can see the jusfification statement of rejection over online system.
The manuscripts are submitted for publishing considering the date of arrival, the period of the journal and the category as research-review. Before printing, the authors sometimes asked for correction that may be required after emendation. The manuscripts are not submitted for publishing if the required corrections are not made.
The authors and the advisors are not paid.
