Journal Description : | History of Nursing: Electronic Journal (HERE), ISSN 2176-7475, is a continuous publication of the Brazilian Association of Nursing (ABEn Nacional). Its mission is to disseminate knowledge in the history of nursing, health, and education through the publication of articles that contribute to the expansion of theoretical and methodological references, historical records, sources of historical research, and facilitate dialogue between researchers and interested parties in the scope of the journal.
Created in 2009 by ABEn Nacional within the scope of the Permanent Forum of Researchers in the History of Nursing, HERE is currently linked to ABEn Nacional's Board of Publications and ABEn's History of Nursing Department. It began with semi-annual periodicity in electronic version and open access.
It accepts manuscripts in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Starting in 2023, it will be published in two languages, one of which must be in English.
HERE follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct and Best Practices Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as well as the guidelines set forth in resolutions and other normative acts of the National Commission on Research Ethics (CONEP) for research involving human subjects in Brazil. For research involving human subjects carried out in other countries, it follows the guidelines provided for in the Declaration of Helsinki, and it advocates for initiatives by the EQUATOR Network aimed at improving the construction of research reports.
HERE disseminates works that address issues related to the history of health and nursing, culture, philosophy of health and nursing education from a historical perspective, in the various theoretical and methodological currents that deal with care practices and knowledge production in its various dimensions. It also carries out studies in the area of historical preservation and management of the cultural heritage of health and nursing.
It publishes original articles, literature reviews, biographies, analytical and reflective historical essays, historical sources and documents, experience reports, reviews, In memoriam, and book reviews of historical value.
HERE adopts an open access model with a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. Therefore, anyone is allowed to read, download, copy, and disseminate its content for educational purposes.
The abbreviation of its title is Hist Enferm Rev Eletron, which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, legends, and bibliographical references. |
