| Journal Description : | Forum Sociológico was founded in 1992, within the Instituto de Estudos e Divulgação Sociológica, by Professor Moisés Espírito Santo and other members of the teaching staff of the Master in In-depth Sociology and Portuguese Reality at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. The first series was published till 1995 and aimed at editing short articles about ongoing research at the Institute and at fostering debate in Social Sciences. The second series of the journal, from 1999 onwards, kept the initial objectives and proposed to conform to international scientific publishing standards, fundamental for its public affirmation, while remaining a permanent forum of debate and reflection about the Portuguese society, as well as other societies, giving space to scientific critique. Today, the journal is a publication of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA) and has become available online at the OpenEditionJournals collection. |
