| Journal Description : | “Turkology” began to be published as a mutual publication of the Academy of Sciences of USSR and the Academy of Azerbaijan SSR under the title “Sovetskaya Turkologiya” in 1970. Having functioned under the title “Sovetskaya Turkologiya” up to 1992, it has begun to be published under the title “Turkology” since 1993.
Many distinguished scientists have been the Editor –in- Chief of the Journal in different years, such as, Acad. M. Shiraliyev – in 1970-1987, Edhem Tenishev – in 1987-1992, Acad. Aghamusa Akhundov – in 1992-2014 and Acad. Tofiq hajiyev – in 2014-2016.
By the Decision of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NASA) dated February 17,2016 Acad. Kamal Abdullayev was appointed as the Editor-in Chief of the journal, Corresponding Members of NASA – Acad. Mohsun Naghisoylu and Acad. Mukhtar Imanov – Deputy Editor – in –Chief and Dr.Elchin Ibrahimov – the Executive Secretary of the Journal.
After the appropriate Decision by the Presidium of NASA, besides Linguistics, papers connected with Literature, History, Philosophy, Mythology, Written Monuments, culture and art, centres of Turkology began to be published in the Journal.
“Turkology” is a quarterly journal (published in March, June, September and December).
Papers sent to the Journal are firstly checked according to the requirements of publication and then sent to appropriate experts to be received.
The Journal “Turkology” has been indexed in the MLA (Modern Language Association) International Bibliography, New York / USA since October, 2017. |
