CERTAIN BASIC KINETIC STUDIES ON WASTE WATER | Author : Ögüz Akpolat, | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Water contaminated or changed their properties partially or entirely as a result of household, industrial, agricultural and other uses is called as wastewater. The analysis used to determine the characteristics of the wastewater are those of quantitative chemical instead of those of qualitative biological or physical. These are Biochemical Oxygen Demand test (BOD5, Chemical Oxygen Demand test (COD), Total Organic Carbon Content test (TOC) and Dissolved Oxygen (DO). In this study, BOD curves were generated for the particular reaction conditions and the effects of reaction rate constant on these curves were studied firstly. This is foreseen regarding the reaction kinetics. Secondly, the correlations among the results of BOD, COD, TOC and DO tests in determining the quality of water resources were searched, and it was seen that finding a correlation among these tests results would be impossible directly but some correlations could be done among the results of these tests applying for the same sample diluted in different rate. However, these correlations could not show on-line changes exactly among their relationships. |
| ANTIOXIDANT, ANTICHOLINESTERASE INHIBITORY AND TYROSINASE INHIBITORY ACTIVITIES OF IRIS XANTHOSPURIA EXTRACTS GROWING IN KÖYCEGIZ REGION | Author : Yusuf Sicak, Halit Büyüksakalli, Salih Malkoçoglu, Mehmet Ali Özler, Mehmet Öztürk, | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study was aimed to investigate antioxidant, anticholinesterase inhibitory and tyrosinase inhibitory activities of n-Hex, DCM, EtOAc, and n-BuOH extracts obtained from rhizome and stem of Iris xanthospuria. Generally, it exhibited the best activity in both antioxidant activity tests of the rhizome and stem EtOAc extracts of the plant. EtOAc extracts reflected moderate activity on butyrylcholinesterase enzyme in BChE assay. EtOAc extract of rhizome showed the good tyrosinase inhibitory activity IC50 value of 4.30±0.25 g/L. In this study, EtOAc extracts may be potentially a source of natural antioxidant, anticholinesterase inhibitory and tyrosinase inhibitory activities. |
| SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION, UREASE INHIBITORY AND TYROSINASE INHIBITORY ACTIVITIES OF SOME CHIRAL PYRAZOLO DERIVATIVES | Author : Yusuf Sicak, Said Nadeem, Bedriye Seda Kursun Aktar, Emine Elçin Oruç Emre, Mehmet Öztürk, Aysegül Karaküçük Iyidogan, Mehmet Ali Özler, Ibrahim Demirtas, | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :A series of some pyrazolo derivatives (1-2)(a-f) were synthesized and their urease inhibitory and tyrosinase inhibitory activities were evaluated. Among synthesized compounds, 2f, 2e, 1f, 2d, 1e, 2b, and 1d showed excellent activities (IC50) i.e. 11.73±0.28, 14.21±0.56, 15.37±0.89, 17.66±0.82, 18.64±0.19, 19.55±0.39, and 22.08±0.96 µM, respectively. According to tyrosinase assay results, compound 2f showed the good tyrosinase inhibitory activity i.e. 6.12±0.40 mM of IC50. |
| SUGARS AND PHTHALATES FROM MUSHROOM SARCOSPHAERA CRASSA (SANTI) POUZAR | Author : Zain Ullah, Erhan KAPLANER, Mehmet Hüseyin SINGEÇ, Akhtar Muhammad, Muhammad Tahir NAWAZ, Mehmet Öztürk, | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Herein we report the first mycochemical and cytotoxic activity investigation of Sarcosphaera crassa (Santi) Pouzar, an edible mushroom when baked. The dried mushroom material was divided into two parts, and one was cooked. The baked and unbaked extracts were subjected to column chromatography. As results, one known phthalate and four sugar moieties were obtained. Their structures were elucidated by GC/MS, FT-IR, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. |
| Worldwide Financial Crisis: Exploring the Special Role of US Banks and Regulations | Author : Muhammad shoaib Khan, Dr. prveen Shah, Dr. Saleem Rahpoto | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Abstract: The monetary markets have after the extremely seismic essentialness of the worldwide money related emergency the greatest disturbances endured, the controllers contend that the Banking part has a unique task to carry out in setting off the reasons for the subprime Booms, which prompted the rise of the worldwide budgetary emergency. Banks used to act just as a monetary mediator, yet certain advancements in worldwide financial part, for example, deregulation, mechanical advancement, solidification and Competition, securitization and budgetary development , which prompted banks being engaged with subprime credits and in this way having an explanation behind doing as such inconvenience .The objective of this work is, the uncommon job of banks in the worldwide financial emergency to the requirement for expanded ORDER and its effect on the financial area to stretch. The present investigation will in this manner be the examination the primary highlights of the worldwide budgetary emergency contribute and administrative proposition of the financial part give and the legislature as a whole |
| Interrogating Anti-colonial Rhetoric by Post Modern African Leaders in Their Bid to Entrench Themselves in Power | Author : Tawanda Mukurunge & Takura Bhila | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Abstract: African politics of liberation mobilized citizens through spelling out injustices by western colonizers to the extent of militating against
euro centrism socially and economically in order to prop up the political ideology of African nationalism. The challenge today, however, is that
this jingoistic supra Africanism aimed against western colonialism and neocolonialism is a veneer covering up the African ‘liberator’s’ intent to
supplant the western colonizer and in turn oppress the same people and loot resources that should belong to the people. The result is that the
poor who were brutalized by European colonizers are still languishing in their state of dereliction under their own countrymen’s leadership. This
study therefore interrogated how Africa can liberate itself from the yoke of depravity under this post-colonial political dispensation by
investigating the Southern African countries; Zimbabwe, South Africa and Lesotho. This was done through document analysis and in depth
interviews with scholars, activists and civil society representatives from the countries under study.
