Abstract :An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the clinical behavior of oral cavity cancer in the General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja "in the period from January to December of 2015. The universe consisted of 273 patients with a diagnosis of cancer, the sample consisted of 21 patients with a diagnosis of oral cancer, the variables age, sex, patient origin, anatomical location, lesion size and histological type. The disease predominated in patients from 46 to 60 years of age, of rural origin and their location prevailed in the lip. Epidermoid carcinoma was the most frequent histological variety. |

Abstract :A quasi-experimental, longitudinal and prospective study was carried out, with the aim of evaluating the treatment of complex bone defects with coralina and collagen membrane. The universe consisted of 18 patients of both sexes between 25 and 54 years of age attended in the Clinic "Lidia Doce Sánchez" of Guantanamo from 2014 to 2017. The patients were distributed according to age groups, were evaluated after the being operated. The age group of 35-44 years, the absence of periodontal pockets, the grade 0 tooth mobility were evidenced. The osseo integration grade III and a good evaluation of the treatment with coralina and collagen membrane in complex bone defects coincided in primacy. |

Abstract :A cross - sectional descriptive study was carried out of fissured lip palatal patients treated at the Pediatric Teaching Hospital "Pedro Agustín Pérez" of Guantánamo, 2007-2017. The universe was 44 patients. The age group that predominated was 0-3 years; the male sex was the most affected. The majority of the studied patients were of rural origin. The hereditary pattern affected only some patients, environmental factors played a more decisive role. The ultrasonographic diagnosis only detected a minimum percentage of the total of fissures. Surgical age behaved in such a way that cheiloplasty and joint staphylography were performed at around 3 to 8 months of age; palatorrhaphy was usually performed between 18 and 20 months. The most used surgical technique was the Millard for lip closure, less than half of the patients were operated with the functional technique in combination with other techniques. The most used orthodontic treatment was after the intervention. The combination of the functional technique with orthodontics obtained satisfactory results in the cases where this treatment modality. |

Abstract :A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in "Ramón Guevara Montano" Stomatology Clinic from September 2015 to May 2016 with the objective of characterizing the epidemiological behavior of periodontal diseases in the population. The periodontal status of the individuals according to sex was evaluated and the Russell Periodontal Index was used. The universe consisted of 400 patients from which a probabilistic sample was selected by simple random sampling (MAS) of 80 patients. The female sex predominated, the most significant age group was of 40-49 years, with established periodontitis manifesting, it was this type of periodontal disease that most afflicted patients. |

Abstract :A study of therapeutic intervention was conducted during the period from June 2015 to June 2016 in 29 patients who presented a need for tooth extraction at the "Ramón Guevara Montano" Stomatology Clinic in Baracoa, Guantanamo, The patients were included in the sample according to the reception order after their informed consent. The variables were used: pain, cleaning of the operative field, complications after tooth extraction and tissue repair. The clinical evolution of the patients was satisfactory. |
