Objective: to investigate the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in patients with HIV lipodystrophic syndrome (HIVLS). Methods: Transversal study with adult patients with HIVLS. Social-demographic, anthropometric and risk factors for CVD were collected. Results: 117 patients were studied, being 63.2% male, average age 44.61 (± 9.22). The majority (53,8%) presented the mixed form of HIVLS. As for the risk factors for CVD, it was observed that 20.5% of the patients smoked, 46.2% consumed alcoholic beverages, 70.9% were sedentary and 79,5% were dyslipidemic. Hypertension, diabetes and overweight were prevalent in 12.0%, 14.7% and 23.9%, respectively, independently from sex. The analysis of the food consumption has revealed a low consumption of food considered as protectors, just like fruit, vegetables and greens and a high consumption of food considered risky, like meat with apparent fat, chicken with skin, candies and sweets. Conclusion: The patients bearing SLHIV presented a higher risk for CVD, so the participation of the multidisciplinary team on the service for these patients is fundamental, stimulating them to changes in their life styles. |

Method: The study is qualitative with the use of descriptive method, which uses principles as aspects of social research on social representations. We interviewed 20 caregivers and analysis was by the method of content analysis. Results: The socio-demographic profile of caregivers provide important information regarding their integration into the care environment and how to carry these in their daily life, the perfect setting for nurses during the process of teaching and learning helps caregivers care, because when affected by stroke get the discharge, are the home care workers who will continue with the care needed for recovery of the subject in his home. Conclusion: We learned that it is of paramount importance, the process of analyzing the socio-economic and demographic profile of caregivers in order to understand the sociocultural environment in which they live, as well as social representations related to the care provided by these caregivers. |
| PRECURSOS LESIONS FOR CERVICAL CANCER AND SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CARRIERS | Author : Cássia Caroline Garcia Dalbem Teles; Rogério Ferrari | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : Objective: To demonstrate the sociodemographic characteristics of women with precursor lesions for cervical cancer seen at the outpatient clinic of the lower genital tract pathology and colposcopy (PTGIC), seeking associations with these variables. Methodology: This is a documentary study, cross sectional. It was considered, for purposes of this study, census of medical records of women in the Clinic of PTGIC in 2009, totaling 315 files. Applied the exclusion criteria left 142 records that were part of the study results. Results: Women with precursor lesions for cervical cancer seen at the outpatient PTGIC in 2009 have an average of 38,8 years of age, and 97 (68,3%) are married, 64 (45,1%)of color white, 78 (54,9%) with primary education, 81 (57%) of the home, and 66 (46,5%) as a result of these women had histopathological NIC 3 and carcinoma. Variables not significantly associated to cervical cancer. Conclusion: These findings suggest the importance of the implementation of educational programs in healthcare facilities, focusing on the need for periodic gynecological evaluation, aimed at preventing cervical cancer. |

The 1988 Brazilian Constitution, the implementation of normative political bases, the Pact for Health 2006 and Decree nº 7.508, 2011, for example, and the pedagogical features incorporated in the audit last year contributed to their empowerment as a tool for public management. In respect to technical reasons, many advances have been identified such as the redefinition of a new concept of practice management support and enhance the work process. However, with regard to the scientific production of the audit applied to health, there is still a wide field to be explored. This article aims to discuss about the conceptualization and implementation of the audit tool in the context of dental practice in primary care, high lighting the possibilities for action, difficulties of the process and the attributes required of the auditor for the good performance of the function. It also presents the audit in dentistry as a tool for quality management based on standards and ethical and legal concepts. |

It is about a bibliometric study, with descriptive character and qualitative and quantitative approaches. Among the 748 studies Virtual Health Library - VHL and the CAPES Theses Database, we selected 58 studies aligned to the theme, which were analyzed. Such analyzes led to the following highlighted results: (i) significant growth of articles published in the area but still in its infancy, considering the importance that the sector has for the economy and population health, (ii) increased amounts of dissertations and theses, and (iii) limited amount of scientific journals that emphasize the theme. |

Methods: This study is a quantitative and qualitative and descriptive. The sample consists of 34 professionals from 10 family health teams in the city of Cáceres-MT, 10 nurses, 09 nursing technicians, 09 physicians and 06 community agents. Results: Most (26 - 76.47%) of the subjects worked for over one year in units, few know the policy in question (8 - 23.52%), most (29 to 85.29%) argues that this policy is not implemented in the team which it belongs, although 19 - 55.88% deem necessary implementation, among the difficulties to implement the subjects reported to be a lack of interest of managers and lack of knowledge, and most (28 - 82.35%) claim never to have experienced or know of a case of discrimination in health services. Conclusion: For the realization of this policy in the states and municipalities, is required professional training of family health strategies, with continuing education where these workers can attend to the form of service they are using, as well as analyze where the need is greater when we talk about diseases prevalent in the black population. |

Thus, from February to July 2011, a Family Health Unit of Barra do Garças - Mato Grosso, the researcher observed the behavior of customers, through spontaneous expressions which referred to the materials or articles about health programs. At the end of the study, it was found that such programs stimulated and generated new behaviors, especially in women. But to do so, health professionals must engage with this media education and participate in the conduct of learned information in accordance with the need of the viewer. |

Descriptive research with qualitative approach, based on the Theory of Diversity and Universality of Cultural Care, conducted in the city of Jequié /Bahia with 29 subjects, 10 postpartum women and 19 family caregivers. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and participant observation subsidized by the field diary, and were submitted to content analysis. The results of this study showed that omphalitis are treated in the household of newborns by their mothers, family members and other caregivers of their network of relationships, and it is based on popular knowledge. Substances such as chicken feather powder, coffee powder and tobacco are used and can be harmful for the newborn, but they are part of the life history of the family and involve care practices transmitted through generations. From the data it was concluded that the scientific knowledge must go hand in hand with the popular knowledge so that they can merge consistently and respectfully. |

Behind the guiding inquiry in response to which the social representation of the alcoholic about alcoholism, we applied the semi-structured interview to 50 subjects and the technique of free association to collect the data, resulting in the construction of thematic unity: Alcoholism - an incurable disease and fatal. It is understood that there is a need for similar work able to grasp more fully the context of the psychosocial aspects to be explored on the subject as important and necessary to stimulate a more attentive in care we provide to these clients. |

This is a descriptive exploratory qualitative research, through interviews with 13 professionals of the nursing staff of a hospital surgical unit and the group discussion by holding two workshops to raise awareness of pain. The results indicate that practitioners report daily pain complaints and constantly use self medication. However, pain management by health professionals is often inadequate due to lack of knowledge and the physiopathology of pain phenomenon. Results point out that the way nurses act in relation to their pain, influences on how they think and act before the customer’s pain. |

| ACCESSIBILITY FOR DISABLED PEOPLE IN A FAMILY HEALTH UNIT | Author : Vagner Ferreira do Nascimento | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : This is an observational study, in order to check the accessibility of disabled people in a Family Health Unit in the municipality of Barra do Garças - Mato Grosso. To collect data we used an adapted form according to NBR 9050. The collection period took place in February 2012. The review process began with the presentation of data collected in the tables in the form of check list, after being grouped in categories like internal architectural structures, including stairs, ramps, handrails, furniture, equipment and bays. People with disabilities have physical disabilities, sensory or mental difficulties that often generate and impossibilities of performing activities common to others, especially to come and go. The study found that few criteria of ISO 9050 were included in the construction and maintenance of the health unit, providing barriers to service customers. But it is understood that there should be a sense on the part of professionals to include in their planning, the design of a new population profile, the one who gives priority to human peculiarities, is mobility, loss of some organ of sense or intelligence and ability to adapt. And this attitude would change considerably the social landscape that surrounds the patient with special needs, especially in health services, where this, fight and make war in order to get quality care, free of damage and barriers. |

Nursing is responsible for the largest contingent of the workforce of hospitals, with responsibility for the care and management in 24 hours. And in turn are exposed to environmental physical agents, chemical agents, biological agents and diseases of the work. This is a field research of a quantitative nature. The subjects were 36 nursing professionals (nurses, practical nurses and nursing assistants) who are involved in nursing care. According to this study, the participants of this survey are unaware of the Regulatory Standard No. 32 and know about the main purpose of the use of PPE, but in daily practice fail to do its proper use, putting unconvincing justifications for non-use , 56% say they have found some difficulty in making use of PPE, the greatest difficulties are related to use of glove with adhesive tape and procedure in emergency situations. 83% of respondents say that at some point in their professional experiences no longer make proper use of PPE. 71% say they have suffered an accident at work, these 90% were due to sharps, 49% of professionals justify the lack of attention as a reason for accidents. It follows that the knowledge of professionals on this subject are disabled, it is necessary to continue training the nursing team since its formation in your life, so that your work is performed with excellence. |

Research was carried out with semi-structured questionnaires with a group of 30 teachers of health of a higher education institution in the city of Montes Claros, Minas Gerais. Objective: Review studies on hearing loss in military in respect of hearing assessment and the type of noise exposure. Method: Search was conducted in the databases MEDLINE, LILACS, SCIELO, BIREME, PUBMED, COCHRANE, CAPES and textbooks, using the descriptors: hearing loss, occupational noise, military, hearing assessment and their related terms in the English language, in studies published from 2000 to 2010. Results: It was noted that the procedures more used in hearing assessment were evoked otoacoustic emissions and threshold tonal audiometry and high frequency audiometry; as regards of noise type, in the Army, the exposition to noise impact is greater in practice shooting, while in the Navy and Aeronautics, prevails the aircraft and vessels continuous noise. Conclusion: It is necessary a higher level of awareness about the risks of exposure to noise, as well as elaboration and deployment of Hearing Conservation Programs for the military. |

Therefore, the study aimed to describe the main concepts, forms and treatment of premenstrual syndrome in the view of traditional Chinese medicine through a literature survey. Constituted research sources, books, articles, dissertations and theses indexed in the LILACS database. Thus, using the keywords: menstrual tension and Chinese medicine, found 17 documents, among them, 05 articles, 01 dissertation and 02 theses. In Chinese medicine, the practicality and effectiveness in the treatment of premenstrual syndrome by acupuncture and herbal medicine occurs when, developed by skilled and qualified, offering no risk or adversity. |

Know them is a challenge to educators and families with a view to supporting the student. In this sense the study aimed to talk about the factors that influence the motivation for student learning. Nature study literature, we used five books and thirteen articles that relate to the theme. The results revealed that the motivation for learning in school can influence personal, family and social life in both positive and negative aspects. It is recommended that educators pay attention to identify students with learning difficulties and adopt procedures that may motivate them. The intersectoral approach to health sector and the strengthening of relations between the school and family is necessary for there to be an effective intervention in the student. |

After using the criteria employed in the methodological strategy as the inclusion / exclusion, was selected 16 studies published between 2002 to 2010, to compose the results. Results: With the analysis of studies evidenced the highlight of health professionals as a pre-disposed to develop this type of occupational stress is a chronic condition. By being professional occupations with care, focusing on providing care based on a humanistic philosophy, have a tendency to have high levels of stress. Methodology: This is a literature review with literature search of journals indexed in the databases LILACS and SciELO, published between 2004 to 2011. To this end, we used the descriptors search crawlers: Adolescence, Teenage Pregnancy, Risk Factors, Factors precursors. Results: We collected a total of 129 articles, and of these only 60 were analyzed and cataloged by paying attention to the object of research. From reading the themes were extracted to answer the goal and then create the following categories: 1-Profile of Adolescents 2 - precursors and risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy. Conclusion: The profile was found to have low socioeconomic status, belonging to the lower class, and low educational and cultural level, and most are not legally married. With regard to the factors highlighted the precursors to socioeconomic aspects. Getting even shown strong correlation between poverty, low education and low age for pregnancy. Also notable was the fact that the decrease in the average age of first intercourse and at menarche. Associated with this fact is not using contraception. With respect to consequences that affect the health of the baby, it was found that the most common complications are associated with perinatal death, epilepsy, mental retardation, blindness, deafness, miscarriage, preeclampsia, anemia, infections, complications in childbirth and childcare, and emotional disturbances. |

It can be observed that by providing students we see advances in expressiveness of the participants during the course and the commitment that perform to obtain a quality result, producing the material based on the information available on the website of the Brazilian society of speech therapy. It is therefore very important to maintain proper visual hygiene. Sight is a sense of relationship by which we perceive our environment and respond to it. Maintaining good visual acuity means quality of life. Functional vision is what we use in our daily lives, to recognize a face, come closer to a person or an object, see a traffic signal, go up or down a step and get on the bus, all of it with different degrees of illumination. We say that a person has good vision when he obtains skilful results in various functional tests such as visual acuity, visual field, color perception, contrast sensitivity, etc., given that good lighting has been used in the place where the activities are conducted during the test. |

The pain has been one of the biggest factors affecting the course of human history. The effective evaluation of pain in pediatrics has been a challenge for health professionals, given that the nursing staff to assess and measure pain in children is important to understand the characteristics of child development and behavior. So understand the child in pain, find a way to help her be a strategy to optimize the form of treatment. Considering the importance of assessing pain in our midst, the nurse as a member of a multidisciplinary team needs to acquire an understanding of the physiology of pain, ways to assess pain in children, since they are important knowledge for decision-making in situations in which the pain and could possibly be avoided. |

It is, therefore, a proposal for discussion, a simple, yet very relevant and pedagogical matters, providing information that will result in knowledge, prepared by participants of the course, in which Moodle is widely used. Proposed to the actors who use Moodle make better use of the ‘Forum Coffee’ without misrepresenting it from its core activity - relaxed and interaction among students, teachers and tutors and vice versa. Thus, interacting with his students, is the proposal to establish harmonically relevant content to be inserted in the forum in order to motivate more students, in addition to more advanced training courses to distance learning success. |

The interaction between students from different institutions and different courses favored the exchange and development of new knowledge. The contact with patients during field activities allowed students to better know the needs of their region and deal with situations that required more adaptability. Integration with the Office of Surveillance of the Municipal Health Department was also positive, because the monitors were able to know the functioning and importance of epidemiological surveillance within the action strategies of the Brazilian Health Care System. Several scientific papers were generated from the experience of the monitors in the PET-Saúde, and a newspaper article, the training of two professionals from municipal health care, the setting of a short-time course for the academic community, among other actions. The PET-Saúde throughout its course, allowed the students to developing technical, scientific, and humanely as a result of the experiences within it |
