Low Power Design of 40 Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Controller Using Hyper Transport Protocol IO Standard |
Author : Bhagwan Das |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Nowadays, the low power design requirement for
the communication equipment is becoming essential for green
communication systems. The Ethernet Media Access Controller
(EMAC) is an important source interfacing the physical devices.
However, the high-speed data operation consumes an enormous
power. This limits the performance of existing Ethernet Media
Access Controllers in real-time. In this work, a novel low power
design of 40G EMAC is developed using Hyper Transport
Protocol (HTP) IO standard technique. The designed 40G EMAC
is developed using Xilinx and tested for high frequencies of 5
THz, 10 THz, and 15 THz. The developed 40G EMAC using HTP
IO standard is consuming less power for THz frequencies. It is
also demonstrated that 70% power reduction is archived for
5THz, and for 10 THz and 15 THz, 69% and 68/% power
reduction is attained respectively for 40G HTP based EMAC.
The developed EMAC can be used in existing communication
system in order to make the green networking. |

Prototyping Non-holonomic Hovercraft for Path Planning and Obstacle Avoidance |
Author : Ghulam-e-Mustafa Abro |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : By definition, autonomous control systems are the
systems that sense the physical quantities from their environment
and may execute any dirty, difficult, dull and dangerous task
without any intervention. These systems are mostly used in the
transportation of large packages from one place to another
autonomously by selecting the shortest path, accurate speed and
obstacle avoidance. This paper describes the development of
fuzzy based PID control algorithm to tackle the dynamic
constraints of localization for proposed non-holonomic
hovercraft. Furthermore, in order to monitor the hovercraft that
whether it is hovering in a familiar or strange environment;
paper suggests the incorporation of digital image processing
technique which will regularly correlate, the images being
captured by the prototype. Moreover, paper methodology also
provides the deployment way along with the interfacing
techniques of some configurable sensors, which will share the
information related to the surroundings of hovercraft using
internet of things (IoT). |

Impact of Sales Force Automation System on Performance of Salesman: Pakistani Companies’ Perspective |
Author : Adeel Naqvi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Rapid growth in advance technologies has
changed the life of sales force. Sales Force Automation (SFA) is
marketing tool which provides the functions to sales team and
managers to monitor sales, forecast sales and analyze employee
performance. Acceptance of the SFA tools such as phone, pagers,
wireless devices etc., in sales tasks will remain an issue for sales
force. Researcher wants to investigate the impact of SFA system
on performance of salesman from Pakistani Fast Moving
Consumer Goods (FMCG) perspective. They have selected 162
salespersons from Lahore based companies (who are using
automated sales devices), and sample size and MANOVA
(Multivariate Analysis of Variance) were utilized to find out the
relationship between independent and dependent variables. It
has found that SFA system has positive relationship with
improvement in performance and sales of salesforce. |

Secure Architecture for E-commerce Websites |
Author : Tooba Ahmed |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :With the rapid growth of Information Technology
(IT), the current markets are being transformed into e-markets/ecommerce.
This has created a need for a secure approach to
implement e-commerce and to keep its security. To meet this
need, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), is one of the best
proficiencies to opt to, because it is flexible and easy to use.
However, together with the advantages of SOA, there is also a
possibility of unauthorized access of data, and interfering with
key data is also easy. It is therefore a challenge for some
organizations to implement secure e-commerce. This paper will
explore/highlight the significance of SOA for e-commerce and
also the issues/faults in the current e-commerce systems. An
implementation design of a secure architecture for an ecommerce
system supported by SOA has also been suggested in
this paper. |

Lifespan and Decomposition Effects of 1st and 3 rd Generation Silicon Solar Cell with respect to Environment and Health |
Author : Sadaf Faryal |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Utilization of solar photovoltaic is increasing day
by day to reduce dependence on the power grid. Decomposition
of 1st and 3rd generation silicon solar cells not only depends upon
the plastic and other materials but also the hazardous element
mainly used as their character on the bases of which they are
categorized as 1st , 2nd and 3rd contemporaries solar cells. These
ingredient are mostly carcinogenic and some of them having life
span of more than 100 years. After abjection of solar cells, they
remain in the soil for many years and cause serious problem to
land environment and also responsible for causing carcinogenic
disease in human and other living beings. This paper explores
decomposition rates of the chemical element mainly used in 1st
and 3rd generation solar cells throughout the past years, possible
environmental and health effects by the hazardous elements used
in them typically silicon (atomic number 14) and focusing on
possible suggested solutions or alternatives |

Techno-economic Study for Water Pumping by Solar Power Driven Three Phase Induction Motor |
Author : Muhammad Abdullah |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The paper primarily focuses on water pump
irrigation by operating the three phase induction motor, using
photovoltaic supply. In many far away regions, mainly in
villages, the main hindrance in agricultural production is the sole
dependence on electricity. Up till now, solar application employed
for DC motors throughout the world because of its simplicity and
torque controlling techniques. In addition to it, regular
maintenance of brushes and commutator is mandatory. Also it is
not possible to replace all, already installed three phase induction
motors with DC motors. A three phase induction motor with the
help of inverter performs robustly. The primary goal of this
paper is to study a DC-DC converter and DC-three phase
inverter, to integrate three phase induction motor. The
exploratory results satisfied the targets as it was effectively
managed as a water pump with optimal efficiency and cost, using
three phase induction motor |
