Author : Yaima Bermúdez Padrón |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Spanish is a language with great possibilities of expressiveness, so the speaker of the Cuban variant of Spanish has various resources to articulate the weighting. In this way, the study of the superlative is current in linguistic research, where it includes all those phenomena that increase, expand and / or exaggerate, traits, qualities or communicative situations. This paper analyzes the expression of the superlative in the novel Tumbaga by Samuel Feijóo and, specifically, focuses on the textual level. The analysis of this novel means the search for popular and Cuban essences, as is the case of the expression of the superlative. In this sense, the objective is to describe the linguistic procedures that express the superlative at the textual level of the novel Tumbaga by Samuel Feijóo. The methodological foundation is based on authors such as Albelda Marco (2005 [2004] and 2014), Arboleda Granda (2012) and González Calvo (1984-1988) who precisely studies the superlative at the textual level. In the novel, different textual procedures that enhance the expressive content and take full significance in the communicative context are recognized. The following linguistic procedures stand out: superlative content by accumulation and superlative valuation; the profusion of linguistic procedures, such as the amplifying metaphor. The profusion of expressions and resources to superlativize at the textual level is evidenced, which also have a marked stylistic character. |

The prosodic focus as a communicative strategy of the teacher in the class. Acoustic study in a sample of university conferences |
Author : Madeleyne Bermúdez Sánchez |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The objective of this work is to describe the ways of prosodic marking of the focus and its pragmatic values in the teacher’s speech. In each focused element, F0, Intensity and Time are measured to determine their incidence in the focus marker. The results demonstrated the use of certain prosodic marks to highlight the informative components of the statement. The priority use of tonal prominence accompanied or not by a rise in intensity and division in an independent attuning unit, can be seen as marking strategies. To a lesser extent, the vocal elongation and the slowing down of the speak rate. |

Author : Gema del Carmen Valdés Acosta, Mercedes Garcés Pérez |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In spite of the development in the last decades of the lexicographical afrohispanics studies, their theoretical and methodological bases are still in a continuous process of proposals for, starting from the general lexicography, to face the particular phenomena that are present in the study of the lexicon and their organization of these special contacts among languages. This report is about this problem, and it proposes adjustments for the field of study of the African linguistic legacy in Spanish of America. Starting from an analysis of the theories and current methods of the lexicography are analyzed the variations of the linguistic data that present many of these words; changes that have impeded, up to now, to establish orthographic norms for an elaboration of glossaries and dictionaries lowers scientific linguistic perspectives. |

The representation of the woman in Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda’s non fictional prose |
Author : Osneidy León Bermúdez, Claudette Betancourt Cruz |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This research paper was motivated by the shortage of studies related to how the woman is represented in Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda’s books non fictional prose. This investigation is set to systematize the representation of the woman by this 19th-century Cuban author, specifically in her non fictional prose. The main result of the present investigation glimpses that Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda’s incursion in the non fictional prose devices a subversion program of the hegemonic-patriarchal discourse standing from the reflexive literature, and it proposes the feminine emancipation from the public writing, since the non fictional prose has been used by the author as a vehicle to express her vision of the woman which opposed to the 19th-century ideal. |

The linguistic competence of foreign language teachers |
Author : Bertha G. Salvador Jiménez, Esperanza L. Guelmes Valdés, Alfredo A. Camacho Delgado |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :However, despite the fact that the concept of competence is not new and that it is widely used nowadays, it is necessary to characterize the linguistic competence of foreign language teachers and to distinguish it from the linguistic competence of language learners for general purposes. That is why, after a process of systematization as the main method, academic linguistic competence is established and its distinctive features and parameters are provided. This paper explains this result and its application to the improvement of foreign language teacher education, particularly to the evaluation of a key area of the didactic competence of this professional: the academic linguistic competence. |
