The digitalization of cultural experiences in physical and hybrid spaces prior to covid-19 | Author : AUTOR Otniel López Altamirano | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Between 2020 and 2021, different urban centers around the world restricted their activities after the waves of infections and the increase in deaths caused by covid-19, from essential activities to those that allow human development, such as social interaction, recreation, and culture. As a result of this measure, pre-pandemic projects are described that have already given new meaning to physical and virtual space and audiovisual design, while standing out as post-pandemic alternatives to be reinterpreted by artists or designers to diversify the user experience in more flexible, open, hybrid and even mobile environments. |
| Proposal for a system of indicators to measure trust and engagement on the Internet. Application in analysis of Disney Spain Company | Author : Inmaculada Martín Herrera; María José Herencia Cuenca | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The purpose of this paper is to study trust and engagement in virtual ecosystems. The specific case of Disney Spain is reviewed, on the website of the online store shopDisney.es, and on the @DisneySpain profiles on Instagram and Twitter. For this purpose, a measurement system is proposed based on the design of two instruments with registration and scope indicators. Direct observation and the subsequent content analysis determine that the company adequately manages strategies to generate trust and engagement. The diagnosis, carried out through the indicators, made it possible to identify the presence of mechanisms that pursue reliability in content, brand image and social interaction, in addition to certain shortcomings or needs for improvement in issues related to the web usability and communication with users. |
| Computer crimes in Mexico. Recognition in the criminal laws of the Mexican entities | Author : Miryam Georgina Alcalá Casillas; Miguel Ángel Melendez Ehrenzweig | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The global digital transformation has facilitated almost all human activities. The pandemic caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus increased this phenomenon, as commercial, labor, health, educational and social activities moved towards digitalization. In Mexico, this has given rise, among other effects, to computer crimes -such as theft and computer fraud, digital harassment or cyberstalking- which are evolving rapidly and therefore are not on a par with criminal legislation. The purpose of this article is to analyze and assess whether computer crimes are criminalized in the 32 Mexican states. For this purpose, the deductive method and exploratory research were used, in order to observe and confirm whether the entities that recognize digital anti-juridical conducts in their criminal laws contribute to the reporting and investigation, or whether those that do not recognize them promote their ignorance, that the crime is not reported or prosecuted. |
| MSMEs and e-commerce in Mexico | Author : Adriana Zambrano Martínez; Priscila Ortega Gómez | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The objective of this article was to analyze the factors that influence micro, small and medium-sized Mexican companies in the adoption of e-commerce. Data from the 2019 Economic Census, conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, were used. The sample included 135 775 companies that reported online revenues in 2019. For the analysis of the information, Tornatzky and Fleischers technology, organization and environment framework was taken as a basis, and a multiple linear regression model by firm size was created. The results reveal that firm size, cash sales, having a website and intranet access have a negative relationship for e-commerce adoption, while access to and use of e-mail, computers and the Internet have a positive relationship. This is because technological integration becomes less important as the company grows, going from being a facilitator to an inhibitor of the acceptance of online sales. This paper demonstrates that technological, organizational and environmental characteristics have significant effects on the adoption of e-commerce by MSMEs in Mexico; the findings may be of help to owners and managers, as well as to policy makers in Mexico responsible for expanding the number of firms adopting e-commerce. |
| The challenges of the new internet business entrepreneurs in a postpandemic world | Author : José Gabriel Aguilar Barceló; Ana Bárbara Mungaray Moctezuma; Ronal Mahecha Guerra | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The covid-19 pandemic pushed many women into microentrepreneurship supported by social networks, digital tools and information and communication technologies (ICT), which has generated economic benefits and greater empowerment. With data from the National Survey on Availability of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH) for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, and using descriptive statistics tools and correlation analysis, we study the evolution in the management of digital social networks and ICT of women entrepreneurs in Mexico, with special attention to the so-called "new internet business entrepreneurs" (nenis, in Spanish) in the environment of the beginning of the pandemic. The objective is to know if the dynamism observed in this commercial practice is guaranteed once the pandemic is under control or if the formula will require adjustments to maintain its validity. Among the results, it is found that the level of technological inclusion is significantly higher in the nenis in relation to the rest of the entrepreneurs, but it will be necessary a greater training and formality in their activities to achieve a technological advantage and the development of a differentiation strategy in accordance with consumers who will be more and more demanding. |
| The consumption information and political interactive conversation on the attitudes and political participation of young people in the metropolitan area of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Pre-election scenario 2018 | Author : Juan de Dios Martínez Villareal; Alma Rosa Saldierna Salas; Felipe Marañón Lazcano | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Traditional media (print media, radio and television) or those represented by the digital age (Internet and social networks) are suitable channels for the process represented by political communication; in turn, this is a factor that impacts on political attitudes and political participation of citizens. In correlation to the above, the main objective of this research is to determine the explanatory level of the consumption of political information and interactive political conversation against the political attitudes and participation of young people. The research design is quantitative, since an opinion poll was applied in the pre-electoral scenario 2018 in the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The main results indicates that the consumption of political content online is the variable that has a higher level of explanation about the interest in the policy of the participants of the study, There is also evidence that could bring the results of the research closer to the theories of political mobilization. On the other hand, in relation to political attitudes there is a very important contrast since there is a political interest and a feeling of openness of the relatively high political system in opposition to a very marked political cynicism on the part of young people. |
| Open Science Project Management. A Sociotechnical Approach | Author : Santiago José Roca Petitjean | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Open science is a category that has been gradually assimilated by academia to encompass research experiences characterized by the distributed location of cognitive resources and infrastructures, collaborative work practices and interaction patterns based on open licences. In this article we propose to explore the management of open science projects from a sociotechnical approach. To this end, in the first instance, the characteristics of this approach are explained as an expression of an integral understanding of knowledge, science and technology; subsequently, the adequacy of some notions of project management to the perspective of development of knowledge assets in open science is exposed, and later an analysis of an experience of open science project management carried out in a Research and Development center is offered. As a result, a set of approaches is presented to support the relevance of the sociotechnical approach as part of a theoretical-methodological platform for project management linked to open science. |

The objective is to account for the main actors in the digital public sphere that influence affective polarization and the risks of communicative phenomena such as hate speech and discrimination. This research seeks to contribute to feminist movements from communication and digital culture in Mexico, given the scarce academic literature. |
| Weak artificial intelligence and computational brute force II | Author : Alexandre Quaresma; Ítalo Santiago Vega | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The objective of this essay is to critically reflect upon the current condition of our most modern artificial intelligence (AI) systems, their latent potentials, their promising technical possibilities, as well as their intrinsic logical, structural, and functional limitations. In order to accomplish this, we will take as an emblematic example and subject of study the new LaMDA by Google, which is a powerful expert artificial intelligence system that processes spoken language, thus a system designed and utilized under the weak theory of AI, which inherently excludes any plausible hypothesis of consciousness right from the outset. |
| Proposal: Public Registry of Property supported by non-fungible tokens (NFT) | Author : Carlos Ortega-Laurel | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In this work a guide is proposed, introducing the idea of alternative implementation of blockchain technology to the popularized use as a currency. As an axis of the guide, the use and support of non-fungible token technology (NFT) for the Public Property Registry (RPP) is presented, as an example, which allows us to conceive the different technological and non-technological aspects that the use of this technology would involve in contexts such as the one explained. The research of the technological fund, the institutional-legal fund, and the techno-institutional-legal is exposed, this to holistically foresee the implications that would have the use of the registry transactions of the RPP through a blockchain supported by NFT tokens. Subsequently, and based on the set of variables, the interdisciplinary research problem is externalized, while summarizing the proposal and discussing its derivations and findings. Finally, it concludes by giving an account of the main challenges and guidelines in which any organization or institution with characteristics analogous to the RPP that seeks a digital transformation and innovation in the near future will have to work. |
| The effects of virtual and augmented reality on attitudes towards science in Mexican primary school students | Author : Mario Alejandro Salgado Reveles | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The present study was carried out with elementary school students in Mexico divided into two groups (control and experimental), and aimed to answer the question: what attitudinal effect will elementary school students have towards science if they experience the learning of scientific content through virtual and augmented reality? The intervention contemplated emerging technology because, in general terms, current students speak a digital language in a natural way, in addition, they are characterized by thinking and processing information in a different way than their predecessors. It was identified with a pretest and posttest that the educational intervention in the experimental group was an important tool to ensure that students develop favorable attitudes towards science, such as liking and enjoyment (p < 0.05), in addition to influencing the possibility of studying a career related to the scientific field. |
| Cybercafes as Instances of Public Access to Information and Coadjuvant in Closing the Digital Divide in Morelos, Mexico | Author : César Barona Ríos; Maricarmen Abarca Ortiz; Regina Arellano González | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This article presents the results of a research aimed at diagnosing the digital divide among users of cybercafes in Morelos (Mexico) in terms of access to Internet services (determinants) as well as the identification and management of information. For this purpose, a survey was designed and applied to 116 informants in 14 municipalities of Morelos. Results indicate that cybercafes function as access points to information, technological devices, and Internet navigation, thus reducing the digital divide, particularly in rural areas. It was also found that cybercafes allow users to access several services, users attend to obtain printing services, carry out governmental procedures and information searches, which would not be possible without the existence of cybercafes. |
| Risk urbanism, the principle of urban disasters and their prevention with geo-computerized systems, CDMX, Mexico | Author : Óscar Daniel Rivera González; Mary Frances Teresa Rodríguez Van Gort | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The so-called urbanism of risk created the conditions for the inadequate urban planning in Mexico City (CDMX), which affects the populations established there. This term is little known today and should not be confused with urban risk. Nowadays, the incorrect urban configuration creates awareness in the inhabitants about the risks present in their lives, according to the impact of natural phenomena (hazards). It is important to understand that the effects of disasters in urban areas are derived from growth in places with unsuitable characteristics, due to the irregularity of the terrain. Risk is the result between hazard and vulnerability, which becomes urban risk when it affects the established population. The contribution of this article shows that the beginning of the adequate urban configuration based on geoinformatics systems will prevent risk urbanism in areas where there is no city growth yet. As a result, it is shown the crossing of variables provided by governmental institutions and real events occurred, according to floods, landslides, earthquakes and collapse of mined areas, using geoinformatics systems to show the municipalities with greater affectation, according to the existing urban risk, which can be replicated and attended in other parts of the country and the world, based on the management between government, academics and population, with the objective of preventing the creation of risk urbanism. |
| Gender-based cyber violence and 8M 2021 in Tampico, Tamaulipas: comments and its reach on Facebook | Author : Rosa Amelia Domínguez Arteaga | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Information and communication technologies (ICT) are allied in the expansion of the feminist movement, however, they have also become its enemies due to the present cyber-violence towards the movement. This study aims to explore the comments on the 8M 2021 march in Tampico, Tamaulipas, posted on the Facebook platform. For this purpose, a content analysis was conducted, based on previous studies focused on social networks. As part of the results, we found mostly sarcastic comments against the march, related to gender violence on the network. Since these expressions seek to silence feminists and co-opt their right to demonstrate, it is concluded that this cyber-violence is a sign of the gender-based political violence experienced by this group. |
