Author : R. Sticlaru, L.M. Crengani?, M. Diac |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The problem of sustainable energy sources is one of the main discussion themes around the globe at this moment. The energy production of traditional methods have a big negative impact on the planet. This analysis will offer valuable information about electrical energy production potential, and even an estimation of the time required for the investment to pay for itself. |

A Practical Methodology for the Determination of Density and Depths Indicators in the Habitat Fragmentation Caused by Geoprocessing |
Author : T. Bor?an, I. Maican |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The present paper proposes a methodology consisting of a guide for the capitalisation of analytical principles that offer quantitative valences to the habitat by using the geoprocessing functions of GIS. The analysis is based on a complex of processes and operations performed in toolsets and leading to the determination of specific coefficients of the density and depth of habitat fragmentation. |

Author : A.C. Dascalu, L.M. Crengani?, C. Bofu |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The main purpose of the article aims in creating a GIS for an urban area with an eye to efficient management of this. Also, the application includes an inventory of all the component elements for an urban area. Other undertaken and proposed objectives are represented by creating an attribute database, relationing that database with graphic entities, making analysis, queries, thematic maps and basic notions of spatial modeling. |

Use the UAV Technology in Determination of Digital Land Model |
Author : I. Ienciu, G.M. Sonica |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The earth surface is the place where a geographical phenomenon is constantly occurring. Thus, the representation of the relief becomes a reference field for the use of GIS systems. Surface modeling does not involve the representation of well-defined models in space, but provides valuable information on its continuous dynamics. The present study aims to achieve the digital model of the terrain in order to represent it as accurately as possible. The collection and transfer of data through UAV technology leads to an efficient management of data on obtaining digital terrain models, this study being largely structured on the presentation of the application side of UAV technology by highlighting the results obtained. |

Golden Valley – Neighborhood of Sibiu, Alba County |
Author : D.M. Oprean Crasoveanu, L. Cuntan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Golden Valley is an young neighborhood, being the last district built during the communist period between 1982-1986. Although it is not big nor with a special architecture, this sector of the city attracts with some features that take it out of anonymity. Built at the edge of the Dumbrava forest, far from the noise of the center or the pollution from the industrial areas, this part of the city was and remains a marginal neighborhood, for collective constructions.
From a morphological point of view, it was built on the bridge of the third terrace of Cibin, at an altitude of 455 - 460 m, in an area with a maximum suitability of relief for constructions, without risk of water erosion of the soil.
Urban morphology is represented by a modern urbanism, with free, airy and green spaces between the blocks with a continuous and regular tissue, geometrical.
The last district built by the communists and the smaller as size, stands still in the top districts in the country, according to a study made by Storia.ro. The agency D&D Research 2017, ranks it 1st in the country in terms of tranquility and services of transportation and also as 3rd in the country, 1st in the city, in terms of air quality. This part of the city is with the best access to recreational facilities such as green areas, sports and cultural facilities.

3D Modeling Techniques for the Restoration and Conservation of Historical Buildings |
Author : C.C. Ceau?u, S.A. Dreghici |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In the restoration and conservation of historic buildings and monuments, for verification and repairs of any kind, accurate information on shape, size and architectural details are of utmost importance. The field of photogrammetry plays an important role in this process, through the possibilities of 3D modeling and representation of historical buildings and monuments. At present, there are a series of photogrammetric software with expertise in image processing algorithms, with digital photogrammetric techniques that establish the direction of development of the applied instruments. The process of photogrammetric modeling uses terrestrial and aerial images of the building attached to the solid model, obtaining a 3D realistic model. This is easily visualized, analyzed and modified by users, even in other fields, such as architecture or history. The advantage of the “multi-view 3D reconstruction technology” is the possibility to use images no matter the shooting distance, as long as each two images contain common points. |

Optimization of Measurements in the Geodetic Network for Monitoring the Horizontal Deformations of the Rogojesti Dam |
Author : C. Chirila, B.P. Siminicaru, C. Cucoara |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The monitoring of the horizontal deformations of the dams in Romania was done by means of classical geodetic methods of angular measurements and, sometimes, of distance measurements. With the advent of GNSS technology, testing the capability of spatial geodetic networks to meet the precision requirements in monitoring the horizontal deformations of the engineering structures has begun. The case study was carried out for the monitoring network of the Rogojesti dam, which is made of local materials and located on the Siret River, 12 km from its entrance in the north of Romania. Optimization of measurements in the monitoring network has been analysed from the perspective of global precision indicators (standard reference deviation) and errors in the horizontal positioning of new points, highlighted by the graphical representation of standard error ellipses. The optimization problems were taken into consideration by both the classic geodetic micro-triangulation network and the modern GNSS network, used either individually or through the horizontal distance components, in a combined micro-triangulation-trilateration geodetic network. The conclusions highlight that by combining both classical measurements (angular measurements) and GNSS measurements (by horizontal distance determinations), positioning errors can be diminished and an improvement in the geometric configuration of the error ellipses in the newly determined points compared to the simple network of geodetic micro-triangulation becomes noticeable. |

Abstract :This article presents the importance of RADAR images in general and in particular a way to use Sentinel 1 Radar images in monitoring process of the crops. Sentinel images representing the European Space Agency (ESA) project were used in this research, and was designed to provide a vast amount of data and images for the Copernicus program in Europe. The Sentinel-1 system is equipped with two polar orbital satellites designed to provide spatial data for environmental monitoring. Sentinel 1 satellites take images both during the day and at night, being a Synthetic Aperture Radar - SAR. The captured images were pre-processed and processed using the SNAP program. The study area is part of the lands in the patrimony of BUASVM Timisoara, more precisely within the Experimental Didactic Station. and the monitoring period of agricultural crops was February - October 2020. |
