RELATIONS FOR GENERALIZED ORDER STATISTICS FROM DOUBLY TRUNCATED GENERALIZED EXPONENTIAL DISTRIBUTION AND ITS CHARACTERIZATION |
Author : DEVENDRA KUMAR, M. I. KHA |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : In this paper we give some recurrence relations satisfied by single and product moments of generalized order statistics from doubly truncated generalized exponential distribution. These relations are deduced for moments of record values and order statistic s. Further, using a recurrence relation for single moments we obtain a characterization of generalized exponential distribution. |

FIXED POINT THEOREMS IN G - METRIC SPACES WITH W MAPS |
Author : K. CHAKRABARTI |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The concept of a W function was introduced very recently by Chen [1] and was used to prove several common fixed point theorems in complete generalized metric spaces. Using a a subclass of these W functions introduced in [1], we prove some fixed point theorems with one, and a pair of self maps on a G-metric space. |

ITERATIVE METHODS FOR SOLVING NONLINEAR EQUATIONS BY USING QUADRATIC SPLINE FUNCTION |
Author : ROSTAM K. SAEED , KAWA M. AZIZ |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : In this paper, iterative methods of order three and four constructed based on quadratic spline function for solving nonlinear equations.Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the efficiency and performance of the iterative methods ; the methods are also compared with some other known iterative methods. |

BOUNDARY GRADIENT OBSERVABILITY FOR SEMILINEAR PARABOLIC SYSTEMS: SECTORIAL APPROACH |
Author : BOUTOULOUT ALI, BOURRAY HAMID , EL ALAOUI FATIMA - ZAHRAE |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The aim of this paper is to study the notion of the gradient observability on a subregion ? of the boundary of the evolution domain O for the class of semilinear parabolic systems. We show, under some hypotheses, that the flux reconstruction is guaranteed by means of the sectorial approach combined with fixed point techniques. This leads to several interesting results which are performed through numerical examples and simulations. |

RBF - PS METHOD AND FOURIER PSEUDO SPECTRAL METHOD FOR SOLVING STIFF NONLINEAR PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS |
Author : MARJAN UDDIN , SARDAR ALI |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Radial basis function-Pseudospectral method and Fourier Pseudospectral (FPS) method are extended for stiff nonlinear partial differential equations with a particular emphasis on the comparison of the two methods. Fourth-order Runge-Kutta scheme is applied for temporal discretization. The numerical results indicate that RBF-PS method can be more accurate than standard Fourier pseudospectral method for many nonlinear wave equations. |
