and flowering between May and September. For this purpose, cross-sections of root, stem and leaf parts of the plant were examined
and demonstrated by photographs. The glandular hairs and hydathode was observed in the cross-section of stem are characteristics
for S. hispidula. |
| Suggestions of Conservation and Monitoring Programs for Freshwater Ichthyofauna in Nevsehir | Author : Erdogan Çiçek, Sevil Birecikligil, Selda Öztürk, Burak Seçer, Yasemin Celepoglu | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study was carried out in order to determine freshwater ichthyofauna of Nevsehir between May and September 2014. A total of
13 fish species have been sampled using electrofisher and gill-nets in Nevsehir province belonging to Cyprinidae, Cyprinodontidae,
Cobitidae, Nemacheilidae and Percidae families. These are Alburnus orontis, Aphanius marassantensis, Capoeta sieboldi, Capoeta
tinca, Carassius gibelio, Carassius auratus, Cobitis simplicispina, Cyprinus carpio, Oxynoemacheilus angorae, Sander lucioperca,
Seminemacheilus lendlii, Squalius cf. cephalus and Tinca tinca. Some species, Silurus glanis and Luciobarbus escherichii inhabits
in Kizilirmak, Oreochromis niloticus and Atherina boyeri reported from Damsa Dam Lake have not been sampled during the study
period. Of these, 4 are endemic fish species for Turkey, 4 are introduced and others are wide distribution in central area and
Kizilirmak River Basin. In this study, based on data obtained from observations made in the fish ihtiyofaunal and biodiversity
conservation are given to proposals that are required for monitoring and improvement |
| The Existing Conditions, Its Problems and Suggested Solutions for Small Animal Breeding in Agri Province | Author : The Existing Conditions, Its Problems and Suggested Solutions for Small Animal Breeding in Agri Province | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :By using the data collected between 2004-2014 years, the existing problems of small animal breeding is identified and solutions are
suggested for related problems in Agri province. In this period, significant changes have been observed in small animal population.
When the small animal population in 2014 is compared to 2004, it has been found that the number of sheep decreased by 14.36 %
while the number of goats increase by 6.60 %. According to TÜIK data 2014, small animal population comprises 3.5 % of whole
country small animal population. This population is made up domestic breeds. Again according to the same data, in the whole
country the contribution of the province to red meat, leather, milk, wool, and goat hair is 3.8 %, 3.2 %, 3.6 %, 4.8 % and 1.0 %
respectively.
Major problems in the city are as follows: marketing problems of small animals and their products, unsuitable small animal shelters
for breeding, low yielding pastures, insufficient and unplanned agriculture of the feeding plants. Planning and producing small
animal products according to market demands, creating a stable system to deliver to the consumers within an efficient and shortest
way and as well as giving incentives to promote for building suitable environments and shelters for animal health and reorganizing
pasture improvements would help in application of right solutions. |
| Determination of Yield and Yield Characteristics of Some Red Lentil (Lens culinaris Medic.) Genotypes Under Sanliurfa Conditions | Author : Ayse Gülgün Öktem | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study was conducted in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 growing seasons under Sanliurfa conditions. This study was aimed to
determination of high yield red lentil varieties in Sanliurfa conditions. Experiment was established accordingly to randomised
completed experimental design with 4 replicates. According to both of years and year combined variance analysis flowering period,
plant height, thousand kernel weight and grain yield was found significant. According to average of years; flowering period varied
from117.6 to 127.9 day, plant height from 37.3 to 45.1 cm, thousand kernel weight from 33.55 to 46.10 g and grain yield from 72.82
to 186.16 kg/da. The highest grain yield was obtained from Sakar variety (186.16 kg/da). The lowest grain yield was found at Yerli
Kirmizi variety (72.82 kg/da). Sakar, Altintoprak, Tigris and Evirgen varieties gave higher grain yield than other varieties. |
| Design and Implementation of Portable Agility Measurement System | Author : Ugur FIDAN, Mehmet Yildiz,Muhammet Ali USER | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The main purpose of all coaches and athletes is to achieve the highest performance. Agility plays an important role in success of
team and racket sports. In literature, defined as ability to change direction effectively with minimum rate of loss speed and control,
agility is categorized as planned and reactive. Reactive agility test will need be reconsidered as into the agility associated with visual
strategies, cognitive abilities and team sports greatly. The purpose of this study is determined as performing and designing a new
reactive measurement system included a lot of stimulus related to team sports. In this study, wiring is prevented by utilizing
telemetry system as a different from existing agility measurement devices and the number of direction change is increased to 2
times. It has also been developed a more useful measurement system by utilizing the optical reflection instead of splash mats that
makes often failure. |
