CONCISE PROLOGUE OF POSITION OF SCHEDULED CASTES IN POST VEDIC PERIOD |
Author : Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Jeet Singh and Dr. Promil Diwan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :India has a long history of caste based society. Caste is
the building blocks of our society. Human being plays a pivotal role in the overall progress of a country. Acaste system is a social system in which one’s social position is given for a life. In caste societies, therefore, all individuals must remain at the social level of their birth throughout life. Prior to modern times, caste system was found throughout the world. In Europe, for example Jews were frequently treated as separate caste, forced to live in restricted neighborhoods and barred from inter marrying etc. The Indian caste system reflects Hindu religious beliefs and is more than 2,000 years old. According to Hindu beliefs there are four major caste i.e. Brahmins (scholars and spiritual leaders) on top and followed by the Ksyatriyas (soldiers and rulers), the Vaisyas (farmers and merchants), and the Shudras (labourer and artisans). Beneath the four castes
are those known as the untouchables or oppressed people,
Dalits) who as their name suggests are to be avoided at all
costs. In India, most of them are still limited to the worst
jobs in society such as removing waste, human excretes etc.
In traditional areas of India some members of higher castes
still regards physical contact with untouchable to be so
contaminating that a mere touch requires cleansing rituals.
India made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of caste in
1949 but aspects of the system remain in full force today.
The author of the paper has tried to peep into the glorious
past of our country and trace the status of scheduled castes
in ancient society. |

CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS |
Author : Rakesh S. P. and Dr. Geetha C |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :“Creative problem solving is looking at the same thing as
everyone else and thinking something different.”
-Albert Szent-Gyorgi
Creativity as a concept has different meanings and
interpretations for different people. It is a construct not
easy to define because it is a multi-faceted phenomenon. At
one place Guilford observed, ‘Creativity’ like love is a many
splendored things. Agreeing substantially with Guilford,
Mackinnon (1970) explains, many are the meanings of
creativity, for most it demotes the ability to bring
something new into existence while novel and valuable
products are fashioned. For still others, creativity is not the
process but the product. Definitions of creativity range all
the way from the notion that creativity is simple problem
solving to conceiving it as the full realization and expression
of an individual’s unique potentialities. Such creativity
properly carries all these meanings and many more
besides. It is indeed a multi-faceted phenomenon.
However, despite the fact that concept of creativity is so
amorphous it is also highly useful.

EMERGING TRENDS IN EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT |
Author : Dr. Ratheesh. R |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Employee Engagement is not a new concept and its effect has been manifesting itself even in olden days when managements and employees came together. But this concept attracted the attention of research scholars and management experts only in the recent periods, particularly after the advent of the concept of rationalization of commercial or industrial operations in
the large scale. Again, this concept got currency and publicity among research scholars in particular only after 1990 when Kahn conceptualised it and explained its ramifications. Much has been studied and written by different authors and research scholars since then and the imperative need of ensuring employees-management relations has been proved beyond doubt not only for “employees satisfaction but also for customers? satisfaction. Among the different factors leading to
Employee Engagement aspect, attraction and retention
hold the key. The main factor which motivates employees to
continue in any organisation is a healthy environment in
which they work and this depends on a variety of factors.

HIGHER EDUCATION FOR A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN INDIA |
Author : Mr. Santosh Pandurang Rathod and Prof. K S Malipatil |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This paper argues that in the concept of Higher Education and Sustainable Development has a distinct character focusing Indian education system in 21th century. According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Education is the basis for a Sustainable Development. It has become a social process of
construction of a pedagogical object, plural, as full of contradictions as reality itself. The creation of an
educational system which takes into consideration gender
differences as well as differences among all sectors,
whether it is formal or non formal education, to reach
the non communicated communities, is considered as a
fundamental element of Education for a Sustainable
Development (ESD) for the last 40 years, Higher Education (EE) has played an important role in several discourses. For some, it has been more part of the problem than of the solution. Nevertheless, Education has become a source of inspiration for many of us. educators here in India, for instance, although doing different things and dealing with different needs, have been able to define strategies of pedagogical research, to build collective identities, to identify and share strategies to find
common objectives and to persevere as we reach for
them. In this way we considered many higher education
indicators to educational sustainability in India. |

Abstract :In fibre-optic communication, a single-mode optical fibre (SMF) is an optical fibre designed to carry light only directly down the fibre - the transverse mode. Modes are the possible solutions of the Helmholtz equation for waves, which is obtained by combining Maxwells equations and the boundary conditions. These modes
define the way the wave travels through space, i.e. how the
wave is distributed in space. |

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR COMMUNICATION NETWORKS |
Author : Bhanu Pratap Singh |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In this paper, we have presented an overview of swarm
intelligence applied to network routing. Inherent properties of swarm intelligence as observed in nature include: massive system scalability, emergent behavior and intelligence from low complexity local interactions, autonomy, and stigmergy, or communication through the environment. These properties are desirable for many types of networks. Swarm intelligent based
approaches hold great promise for solving numerous problems of ad-hoc power aware networks. Swarm intelligence however is a new field and much work remains to be done. Comparison of the performance of swarm-based algorithms has been done by emulation. |

ROLE OF THE STATE IN CONSUMER PROTECTION |
Author : Dr. Rajaram Nathaji Wakchavre |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Consumer protection has become a serious issue with the liberalization of Economic policies in India. The liberalization has opened the flood grades for the entry of big players from the world over into the country. The profit motive has surfaced as a major motive, leading to jettisoning the much avowed objective of giving prime importance to consumers interest. In the wake of such a situation, the issue would be who should take the
responsibility of protecting the consumers. Should the protection of consumers be left to consumers only or to
their organizations ? In the realm of the consumer protection, what should be the role of the state ? Should the protection of consumers be left to consumers only or to their organizations ? In the realm of the consumer protection, what should be the role of the state ? Should the state adopt a passive approach or reactive role or proactive role? The analysis of the data reveals that much more is required to be done by state governments. |

Abstract :Single crystals of strontium oxalate have been grown using gel method at ambient temperature. Thermal characteristics and kinetic parameters of strontium oxalate crystals were determined by thermo-gravimetric analysis (TG) under non-isothermal heating conditions. The pyrolysis experiments were performed with increasing 0 0 temperature up-to 600 C at heating rate of 5, 7 and 10 C in nitrogen gas atmosphere. The pyrolysis curve showed that 0 loss of mass took place mainly in the range of 250-360 C. At higher temperature there was a significant mass loss due to decomposition of oxalates. Ozawa and Coats & Redfern methods were used to determine the apparent activation energies of material degradation. The apparent activation energies for strontium oxalate crystal were obtained 220.42 and 230.53 KJ/mol for the respective methods. |

CLIMATE CHANGE AND CONSERVATION OF GEOGRAPHICAL AND ROCK CYCLE |
Author : Dr. Sakdeo Babita Marutirao |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :When the earth was first created, the materials that it made were so hot from the contractions that formed the planet and from the heat generated by the core that the outer layers were mostly liquid. Over time, it slowly cooled, and a hard crust formed on the outer surface. This was much like the thin layer of ice that first forms over a pond when the temperature dips
below freezing. And just as there is liquid under the layer of
ice, there is still liquid magma flowing under the crust. As this
happened, a cycle of events began to be put into place that
causes changes in the rocks that exist on the earth. This cycle
is known as the rock cycle. The rock cycle is a model used to
describe the creation, alteration, and destruction of the
rocks that form from magma.

THE SOCIO-POLITICAL IDEAS OF M.G. RAMACHANDRAN |
Author : C. Gopikrishnan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :For communicating the ideological symbol of Annaism, MGR has taken many pains. He has resorted to all known forms of mass communication efforts. In fact there are two effective audio techniques, monitored by him: (i) In all the public meetings,
electioneering attempts, radio talks and television appearances. In the early years of the party, Annaism has strengthened it slowly, yet steadily and strongly. With the cherished goals of bringing in a clean administration and the unseating of the DMK Government, Annaism has taken up the following stages of action, to educate its own followers and common masses: (i) The first step was a process of creating consciousness among the masses to make them aware of the real defects in the organisation and administration of the DMK regime; (ii) The second step was the renunciation of the benefits of office among the followers of Anna, (iii) The third step was to restore a sense of confidence in the people, so that they can think, unite and move to make a new history for themselves; (iv) The
fourth step was to explain to the people about their glorious
past achieved by CNA; and (v) the fifth step was to create
among the masses a desire for clean administration and
sustain that desire by investing it for a political change.
After obtaining power, Annaism has served the party in
three important areas, viz., society, party and Government.
Annaism reminds the leader and the party constantly about
the milestones to be reached. It has made them conduct
periodical elections within the party to maintain inner party
democracy. The very same ideology has been the root for
the various policies of day-to-day administration. |
