THE REALTIES AND DEFENSE OF DALIT HUMAN RIGHTS IN TAMILNADU |
Author : C.BHASKARAN |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Human Rights violations in the Hindu society have continued to remain an integral factor in India for about 3000 years. Violations were originally the result of strict observance of 'Varunasirama-Dharma' code which was diametrically opposed to the Dalit masses in India. Even after May years of our Independence, the concept of 1 fraternity among Indian brotherhood remains theoretical. The limbs of Indian Democracy, such as the Administrative set up, laws and courts, serve the ruling class of India rather than the welfare of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes (SC/STs). Hence it is inevitable for Dalits to organize themselves and lead agitations for the promotion of their welfare. But the intolerant higher caste people launch counter attacks 2 on Dalits by mobilizing their socio-economic and political power. As a result Dalits houses have become the targets of attack, endangering their precious life and livelihood, either overtly or covertly. Therefore, the violations against Dalit Human Rights have assumed higher dimensions. |

Abstract :Micro watershed is defined as a small watershed, in which a certain number of families live, make use and manage the resources of the area, mainly the soil, water, vegetation, including crops and native vegetation, and fauna, including domestic and wild animals. From the operational point of view, the micro watershed has an area that may be planned by a technician counting on local resources and/or a number of families that may be treated as a social nucleus that shares some common interests and here the use of land is very much associated with the local physiography and that is why the study about land use should give emphasis on the relief characteristics. The present paper is based on a small river basin and its changing land use. So here it is very important to study about the drainage morphology as a whole or especially on that particular area where the changing tendency of land use has already been recognized. At the same time it is also to be noticed that the land use pattern may also be affected by the anthropogenic effect. So it is also very necessary to give stress on the anthropogenic factors associated with the basin area. |

No one can judge the thought process of his mind unless and until he reveals what he wants. In fact at times he himself do not know what he want. He cannot give a clear or definite explanation to what actually satisfy him to the maximum extent, Therefore satisfying a customer to the full extent is a difficult task for the marketer. THEORETICALLY EVALUATING THE FORMATION OF HYDROPHOBIC CLUSTERS IN CERTAIN ELEMENTS USING ULTRASONIC FREQUENCY |
Author : J.THENNARASU AND G.MEENAKSHI |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Particularly the anomalous increase of ultrasound attenuation near the critical region of binary liquid mixtures has been widely studied. The solutions have been carried out at some temperature range with the frequency range of about 200 Hz/sec. The data can be described quantitatively in terms of the Relaxation process, which can be approximated as Ideal solutions. In the case of ethyl alcohol & Dioxane, all of the ultrasonic data are consistent with the formation of intermolecular Hydrogen bonding associated with thermodynamic and kinetic constants. The results are discussed together with corresponding data for the above solution from previous works. It was concluded that for the solvent effects in an aqueous alcohol binary mixture are limited almost entirely to the hydrophobic ground-state stabilization by the organic co-solvent. This can be evaluated in pure water with “hydrophobic” clusters of hydrocarbon portion of 1,4 Dioxane. The composition dependence of absorption is analyzed in the light of Gordon G.Hammes theory together with Eigen & Maeyer's solution model |

COMPLEXITY ANALYSIS OF ALGORITHM |
Author : N.VEDAVATHI AND DHARMAIAH GURRAM |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This paper explores the competing issues of coverage efficiency and power available in wireless sensor networks. Specifically, a shortest distance routing protocol is implemented, and total network system lifetimes are determined using a variety of small percentages of the available system nodes. Using a network simulator developed in Java, wireless sensor nodes are simulated, and power consumption algorithms are included in each node that take into consideration all aspects of power consumption in the operation of the node. Simulating different coverage schemes on the same network system, same initial power sources, and routing protocol, an increase of overall system lifetime of 900% is demonstrated, but also that the network lifetime increase does not increase linearly as the percentage of nodes used in the system is decreased. Wireless sensors, and the arrangement of these small, electronic devices into radio networks, have introduced the capability of remotely monitoring a physical environment for a wide variety of parameters. In effect, there is additionally the ability to interface the physical world, monitoring whatever parameter is of interest, with the internet. |

Abstract : This paper examines basic preferences of the people while planning for investments in the age group of 18-35. The analysis indicates that most of the working people have invested at their end and the statistics reflect that the preferred sector is the Government sector. The private sector is also playing the equal role in the economy. More generally, most of the invested funds are in Banks following the Insurance and real estate. One of the possible explanations for this pattern may be due to the faith in the Government sector rather than the returns out of it. |

Abstract : This paper shows the design of an open-ended, less specified pr oject for r emotely contr olled lawn cutting r obot. Since ther e is no good solutions in the medium segment when it comes to a concern for the envir onment we have chosen to appr oach our pr ocess in a r espectful way r egar ding the envir onment. Quality is often r eflected upon technical solutions and the level of advanced components the mor e advanced technology the higher risk of something br eaking down. Historically lawnmowers ar e usually seen as pr oducts with high quality . They last for a long time, sometimes for several decades. The long life can be explained by the use of long-lasting materials and most often a solid assembly . The r obot must simulate lawn mowing, by installing markers on its body , which can map wher e it has been on the surface pr ovided. The r obot must be able to distinguish any obstacles set up on the surface and navigate ar ound them, without any outside interfer ence. The entir e surface pr ovided to simulate the lawn mowing pr ocess on must be totally cover ed by the r obot, or as much of it as possible as the case may be. The r obot should navigate the surface ar ea as quickly as possible. All above point ar e taken into consideration when the r obot is designed |

EFFECT OF MN DOPING LEVEL ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Ni SUBSTITUTED COBALT FERRITE |
Author : M.M. SUTAR , J. S. GHODAKE , S. R. KOKARE AND P.B. JOSHI |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : It has been observed that for cobalt ferrite the coefficient of magnetostriction is maximum but the observed value of magnetoelectric coefficient is low as compared to the value calculated on the basis of known piezo-electric coefficient(d) and magnetostrictive strain(ë). It was predicted that a large value of magneto crystalline anisotropy of cobalt ferrite reduces the effective magneto electric coupling. To improve the magneto electric coupling still maintaining the values of resistivity (p), Saturation magnetization (Ms) and initial permeability (ì) high, substitution of Nickel is found to be useful. Further substitution of Mn at A or B-site is reported to improve , and reduce anisotropy energy k1, coeresive field (Hc) and curie temperature (Tc) of the material. Therefore it was interesting to determine Magnetic properties of submicron level Ni and Mn substituted Cobalt Ferrite. |

PRESENT STATUS OF INDIAN AGRICULTURE |
Author : S.KAYARKANNI |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Agriculture sector is the mainstay of the Indian economy, contributing about 15 per cent of national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and more importantly, about half of India's population is wholly or significantly dependent on agriculture and allied activities for their livelihood. This paper is aimed at strengthening agriculture sector in sustainable economic as well as human development. Development of agriculture will help in upliftment of the farmers but also benefit the larger section of the rural poor who are directly engaged in agriculture or indirectly linked with agriculture as consumers. Efficient way of production, stabilized prices, higher income from agriculture would create a more conjugative environment in the country for the development of the economy as a whole and of rural population in particular. One of the most important component of the much needed reforms is not only implementation of the policy in time but also simultaneous review and evaluations of the impact of the policies and taking immediate steps to rectify the negative impacts if caused by any of the policies. Inter sectoral linkages and organisation of the agricultural sector needs to be taken up. Sustainability is another key issue. Empowerment of the small and marginal farmers through education, reforms and development will ensure a better, efficient and strengthened Indian agriculture. Motivation new models in production and marketing along with creating awareness and imparting education to small farmers will help in development of the sector and more importantly improving the economic status of poor farmers. The action plan to strengthen agriculture in India needs to be on domestic reforms through reduction of government intervention in the market economy but playing major role as evaluator and implementation of the policies, increased investment and prioritising the area to invest, parallel action plans in this direction are needed in research to increase productivity and irrigation and water management |

WOMEN AND TRAFFICKING – THE REALITY BEHIND THE MYTH |
Author : PRANEETHA BALAJI AND DEVAIAH NOORERA |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Women in India are worshipped as Adhishakthi- Source of Power and hence women have a respectable position in India. Yet the reality check of this concept shows the dark side of the situation. According to the International Labour Organization, 2.45 million people worldwide are exploited and treated like slaves every year, and another 1.2 million people are trafficked. Though we accept that we are in the era of globalization yet the treatment meted out against women is inhuman and uncivilized and one such torture meted out against women is TRAFFICKING. Globalisation has created a new demand in certain feminized Economic sector (commercial sex, bride trade, and domestic service) which are characterized by lack of bargaining power and low wages. Rights which are given to women are inadequate and this is a major factor which has led to their increased trafficking and migration. Besides, failure on the part of governmental machinery to protect women specially in respect to their civil, political, economic and social rights has led to increase in trafficking of women. Human trafficking is world's third largest illegal activity after Smuggling of drugs and weapons, yet it continues to thrive despite adequate legal provisions. According to the US State Department, South Asia accounts for second highest number of victims of trafficking. India was among 32 countries on US' Watch List, 2006 of countries involved in human trafficking |

Abstract : The use of focus gr oups to determine patr on satisfaction with library r esour ces and services is extensive and well established. This article demonstrates how focus gr oups can also be used to help shape the futur e dir ection of a library as part of the strategic planning pr ocess. By r esponding to questions about their long-term library and information needs, focus gr oup participants at the University of T exas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas Library contributed an abundance of qualitative patr on data that was pr eviously lacking fr om this pr ocess. The selection and r ecruitment of these patr ons is discussed along with the line of questioning used in the various focus gr oup sessions. Of special inter est is the way the authors utilized these sessions to mobilize and involve the staff in cr eating the library's strategic plan. This was accomplished not only by having staff members participate in one of the sessions but also by sharing the pr oject's major findings with them and instructing them in how these findings r elated to the library's futur e. The authors' experience demonstrates that focus gr oups ar e an effective strategic planning tool for libraries and emphasizes the need to shar e information br oadly , if active involvement of the staff is desir ed in both the development and implementation of the library's strategic plan |

DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF WATER TANK MOUNTED ON HCV's |
Author : DIVIJA PAVANI.S AND CHANNANKAIAH |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The tanks used for the transportation of liquid over the r oad-ways is an integral part of the Carrier V ehicle. The tank is expected to withstand the unbalanced for ces on account of the transit over uneven and irr egular surfaces of the r oad and also due to sudden acceleration or deceleration (due to application of brakes) phenomena. Analysis of the sloshing motion of a contained liquid is of gr eat practical importance. Motion of a fluid can persist beyond application of a dir ect load to the container; the inertial load exerted by the fluid is time-dependent and can be gr eater than the load exerted by a solid of the same mass. Hence the associated structural behavior must be investigated in the design of tanks. The container design ( shape, materials with elastic, viscoelastic and elastoplastic behavior ) can have a considerable effect on the dynamic damping of the sloshing waves. Internal baffles in tanks ar e also widely used for efficient sloshing wave damping. This paper describes the design and analysis of W ater tank mounted on Heavy commer cial vehicle (HCV) |

Abstract : When W orld W ar I br oke out in 1914, all factions in India offer ed their loyalty to the British cause, including the pr o-independence Congr ess party , whose leaders imagined their support would yield self-government. V ictory over Germany , however , did not bring the expected transfer of power . On the contrary: Bengal was partitioned between the pr edominantly Muslim east and Hindu west – widely seen as a further enfor cement of Britain's policy of divide and rule. Ther e wer e mass pr otests all over the country , marshalled by the Congr ess party and its leaders, for emost among them Mohandas Karamchand "Mahatma" Gandhi, who advocated non-violent pr otest to bring about the end of British rule. |
