THE NATURE AND PREVALENCE OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT OFWOMENAT WORK PLACE : THE INDIAN SCENARIO |
Author : Ashutosh Bairagi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Sexual harassment of women at workplace is neither new nor rare, yet it is not reported or even talked about enough. Most working women face sexual harassment at workplace in some form or the other. It is there, yet never acknowledged. Actually, it is an extension of the patriarchal violence, at home and in society, at large, but it is not enough. Patriarchy reigns control by ensuring that women do not have equal access to available resources in the society and that they have restricted mobility and reduced efficiency, leading low or poor employability. Since the whole edifice of the economy rests on the society, economic empowerment can never be a meaningful reality without rooting out existing gender inequalities situated in the social structure. Sexual harassment is one of the chief ways that men resist gender equality in the workplace. It creates a hostile environment for working women. In India, the legal directive for addressing issues of sexual harassment came from Supreme Court verdict in the Vishakha vs. State of Rajasthan in 1997. The Supreme Court stated that every instance of sexual harassment is a violation of Fundamental Right. So, in order to understand and analyze the extent of sexual harassment at workplace and the effect of Vishakha Guidelines and to have an overview and critical evaluation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 the present study has been conducted. |

A STUDY ON IMPACT OF DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENTS ON PRICES OF SHARES INDEXED WITH BOMBAY STOCK EXCHANGE |
Author : C. Sathish Kumar,G. Madan Mohan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Dividend policy is a major policy decision to be made by a company, deciding the proportion of profits to be distributed to owners of the company by way of cash dividend and the proportion to be retained by the company as retained earnings for investment in its expansion endeavours. A desirable balance has to be maintained by company on the part of profits to be retained and to be distributed to owners as cash dividend. Dividend payment exerts a significant impact on wealth of shareholders of a company. However, some theories such as the Miller-Modigliani hypothesis theory stresses that dividend has no relevance on value of firms. Contrary to this, Walter and Gordon formulated a theory which supposed that investment policy and dividend policy of a company are interlinked and significantly affects price of its shares. This descriptive research proposes to test the Walter and Gordon theory by analyzing the impact exerted by dividend announcements made by companies on prices of their shares. The study is based on secondary data, pertaining to share prices of companies indexed in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which have made dividend announcements. The data have been analysed using the Statistical package of SPSS, employing the statistical tool of T Test Analysis. Results of the study reveal that a dividend announcement exerts a significant impact on share prices of companies. |

Author : Deepika Bhatnagar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Offenders now have several well-entrenched rights, but a growing number of surveys have revealed widespread dissatisfaction among their victims. Many countries have now recognized the need to provide services to victims to help them recover from the effects of crime and assist them in their dealings with the criminal justice system. Until 1970s the victims of crime were a forgotten entity in the criminal justice system. The attitude began to change as the discipline of victimology came into its own. In India except in the area of providing compensation, very little has been done either statutorily or through schemes to address the entire range of problems faced by the victims .This paper proposes to examine the prevailing legal framework in India in regard to victim's rights and notices relevant judicial dicta. The paper also emphasizes the need to provide assistance to crime victims, some immediate steps have also been suggested to be implemented by the law enforcement agencies in India to improve the position of victims in criminal justice system . |

REDUCING DEFECTS ON STONE CRUSHER CASTINGS |
Author : K. Subrahmanyam , Ch. Venkata Rajesh and V. Varun Kumar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Metal casting involves pouring molten metal into a mould containing a cavity of the desired shape to produce a molten product. Foundry industry suffers from poor quality and productivity due to the large number of process parameters, combined with lower penetration of manufacturing automation and shortage of skilled workers compared to other industries. Global buyers demand defect-free castings and strict delivery schedule, which foundries are finding it very difficult to meet. The casting is then removed from the mould and excesses material is removed, often using shot blasting, grinding or welding processes. The product may then undergo a range of processes such as heat treatment, polishing and surface coating or finishing. Unfortunately, this is not an easy task, since casting process involves complex interactions among various parameters and operations For achieving the defect free casting, Design of Casting process is very necessary. By fallowing the sequence of designed steps, the designed casting will be prepared. In this work, we present a 3-step approach to casting defect identification, analysis and rectification. Casting the defects will be identified Visual inspection, MPI (magnetic particle inspection), U.T(ultrasonic testing), R.T(Radiographic testing), and Final inspection. By all these inspections defects need to be diagnosed such as correctly for appropriate remedial measures, otherwise new defects may be introduced. Some defects diagnosed as cracks, Undersurface cracks, External slag inclusions, shrinkages, gas generated defects. These defects will be analyzed and rectification processes fallowed, so finally defects will reduced. |

Author : Krishna Kumar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The cultivation of food crops within the overall boundaries of towns and cities is not new, but has been forgotten or ignored in the last 20 years, while urbanisation has, it is thought, absorbed a disproportionate share of national resources. Though primary activities are absent in urban areas of developed countries but it has its presence in urban areas of developing countries. Urban agriculture is practiced within the city and outside the city boundary. Though small in area and production its worth is noting. The role of agriculture in metros especially in Delhi is undermined due to its low contributions in urban economy. However; it plays a key part in influencing food supply chain as well as in stabilisation of prices of agricultural produces. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The state, Manipur, extending between latitudes 23° 50' and 25° 4' north and longitudes 93° 2' and 94° 47' east and acquiring an area of 22,356sq.km, is sited as the easternmost border of India which has a lucid geographical unit comprising of hills and valleys. It is a land populated and lodged by the hill and valley inhabitants together since eternity. Veritably, one cannot subsist without the other, the hill is nothing without the valley and so is the valley without the hills. It has neighbouring states, namely, Nagaland on the north, Myanmar on the east, Cachar (Assam) on the west and Chin hills of Myanmar and Mizoram on the south. The valley areas of Manipur retain a portion of the state with an area of 1,800 sq. kms particularly dwelt by the communities known as Meitei and Muslim. Some other religious communities like Tribes and Mayangs (a term used for non-Manipuris residing inside the state) are also staying in the valley areas of Manipur. In this context, an attempt is being made to explore as to how the Muslims started the settlement and formation of their community in Manipur since their arrival in the state in 1606 A.D., i.e. during the reign of King Khagemba (1597-1652). Significantly, another attempt is to trace out the historical analysis of how far the doubtful phrase “Prisoners of War” used in the history of Manipuri Muslims is correct. Their socio-cultural practices like Marriage system, Clan system (unknown in the Islamic World), Dresses, Belief system, Language etc. and its impacts on the expansion, settlement and formation of the community are scrutinized briefly during the 17th and 18th centuries. Moreover, why the population of Muslim community in Manipur is still low is also examined historically. |

Author : Deepa Kaushal,Dipika Kulkarni |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : A comparison of the services performance of the top 15 countries for the 11 year period from 2001 to 2011 shows that the increase in share of services in GDP is the highest for India with 8.1 percentage points. These 15 top countries include major developed countries along with Brazil, Russia, India and China. While China's highest services compound annual growth rate (CAGR) stood at 11.1%, India's very high CAGR of 9.2% was second highest and also accompanied by highest change in its share. This is a reflection of the fact that India's growth has been powered mainly by the services sector. India's services sector has emerged as a prominent sector in terms of its contribution to national and state incomes, trade flows, FDI inflows and employment. For more than a decade the sector has been pulling up the growth of Indian economy with great stability. The share of services in India's GDP at factor cost (at current prices) increased from 33.3% (1950-1951) to 56.5% in 2012-13, as per advance estimates. Including construction, this would increase to 64.8%. With 18%, trade, hotels and restaurants are the largest contributors to GDP among the various sub sectors. This is followed by financing, insurance, real estate and business services with 16.6% share. Community, social, and personal services with 14% share stand in the third place. AUTOMATIC TYRE INFLATION SYSTEM |
Author : HemantSoni, AkashLahurgade,SourabhRelkar,SourabhBabhulka |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Driven by studies that show that a drop in tire pressure by just a few PSI can result in the reduction of gas mileage, tire life, safety, and vehicle performance, we have developed an automatic, self-inflating tire system that ensures that tires are properly inflated at all times. Our design proposes and successfully implements the use of a centralized compressor that will supply air to all four tires via hoses and a rotary joint fixed between the wheel spindle and wheel hub at each wheel. The rotary joints effectively allow air to be channeled to the tires without the tangling of hoses. With the recent oil price hikes and growing concern of environmental issues, this system addresses a potential improvement in gas mileage; tire wear reduction; and an increase in handling and tire performance in diverse conditions. |

It is observed that only three members are against propagating cooperative principles as a measure to improve the condition of cooperatives. But more than 30 per cent of the total members are against procedure should be simplified. Again, more than 20 per cent of the total members are against more friendly. About11.67 per cent of the members have no definite opinion on the issue of election and more loyal to the society. Further nearly 13.3 per cent of the total members are against liquidating or merging weak societies and 86.67 per cent of the total members are support service of experts. Since the p-value (0.000000) is less than 0.05, there is significant difference between the assessment of members for improving the performance of cooperatives and their acceptance. |

MARKETING STRATEGIES OF FINANCIAL PRODUCTS IN INDIA |
Author : A. K. Mohideen , R. S. Arun |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The Indian economy has a large number of investors in financial products. Many firms with claims to their cash flows regularly trade in the active secondary security market. In addition to these investors and firms, there are also a number of financial intermediaries contributing to the market efficiency through financial products created to satisfy specialized investors demands. The liabilities of the intermediaries are covered in the secondary markets for the firm's securities, with transaction and marketing costs, prohibiting investors from directly creating these products. Mutual Funds and Financial Derivatives are the two important aspects of the Indian financial sector. Mutual fund is such an avenue, which offers good investment opportunities to investors. Like all investments, mutual funds also carry certain risks. Investors should compare the risks and expected fields after adjustment of tax on various instruments while taking investment decisions. In this regard, the investors may require advice from experts and consultants including agents and distributors of mutual fund schemes while making investment decisions. Therefore, investors prefer to avail the advisory services of the marketing personnel free of charge, rather than hiring the expert and paying a handsome amount. |

Abstract : Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's Arranged Marriage (1995), a collection of eleven short stories, deals mostly with the lives of Indian or India-born American women. The present paper specifically takes for study two stories, The Bats and The Ultrasound to demonstrate how women characters in them are victims of patriarchal socio-cultural set up. Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The aim of the project work is to protect the distribution transformer or any other power transformer, burning due to the overload, over temperature and input high voltage. Normally most of the transformers are burning because of these three reasons; hence by incorporating this type of monitoring and control circuits, life of the transformer can be increased. In addition to the monitoring and control, information about these three parameters can be transmitted to the nearest electrical office where the maintenance staff of the electrical department can monitor the transformer continuously without going nearer to the transformer. For this purpose, radio communication is utilized in this project work, so that, due to what reason the transformer has been failed, at what time, when the power is resumed etc., can be monitored and this information can be stored in a computer at the receiving station. With the help of this kind of system, the maintenance staff of the department can have a continuous vigilance over the transformer. |

WOMEN AND WORK |
Author : Hanamantharayya Baragali,PrakashM Badiger |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : PROFILE OFWOMEN WORKERS Women form an important part of the Indian Workforce. According to the information provided by the Registrar General of India, the work participation rate for women was 25.68 per cent in 2001. This is an improvement from 22.73 per cent in 1991 and 19.67 per cent in 1981. The two important aspects that require mention are that while there has been an improvement in the work participation rate of women, it continues to be substantially less in comparison to the work participation rate of men. In 2001, the work participation rate for men was 51.93 per cent. Secondly, there seem to be a rural urban divide in so far as work participation of women is concerned. In 2001, work participation rate for women in rural areas was 30.98 per cent as compared to 11.55 per cent in the urban areas. In the rural areas, women are mainly involved as cultivators and agricultural labourers. In the urban areas, almost 80 per cent of the women workers are working in the unorganized sectors like household industries, petty trades and services, buildings and construction. |

Author : J. P. Kumar,N. Brindha,A. Abirami |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Empowerment in the context of women's development is a way of defining, challenging and overcoming barriers in a woman's life through which she increases her ability to shape her life and environment. It is an active, multidimensional process, which should enable women to realize their full identity and power in all spheres of life. India envisions a future in which Indian women are independent and self-reliant. It is unfortunate that because of centuries of inertia, ignorance and conservatism, the actual and potential role of women in the society has been ignored, preventing them from making their rightful contribution to social progress. Women must be empowered by enhancing their awareness, knowledge; skills and technology use efficiency, thereby, facilitating overall development of the society. The concept of Self Help Groups (SHGs) is proving to be a helpful instrument for the women Entrepreneurship. SHG is an organization of rural poor, particularly of women that deliver micro credit to undertake the entrepreneurial activity. Entrepreneurship development and income generating activities are a feasible solution for empowering women. It generates income and also provides flexible working hours according to the needs of homemakers. Economic independence is the need of the hour. Participation in income generating activities helps in the overall empowerment of women. Thus to investigate the empowerment of women through entrepreneurial activities of self help groups, this particular research was conducted with the specific objective to investigate the empowerment. |

THE DEPENDENT ORIGINATION IN THEREVÂDA BUDDHISM |
Author : Janaka,C. Balu |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The doctrine of paticcasamuppada [dependent origination] taught by the Buddha is profound; consequently, majority of people cannot understand the law of dependent origination. Nonetheless, it is as valid today as it was when the Buddha explained the doctrine to Ven. Ananda some 2500 years ago. The doctrine of dependent origination, the core of Buddhism, is so difficult to comprehend that people commit serious errors in understanding it, and thereby distort the Buddha Dhamma. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Field studies were conducted in Chinsurah, West Bengal, India during from 01.08.2012 to 31.12.2012 to enumerate the relations between the insect-pest attacks and plant bio-morphological features. The dates are taken on 05.09.12, 20.09.12 and 05.10.12 [15 days interval] (except white ear head damages, taken on 20.10.12) under bothshallow and semi deep land situation during kharifseason, 2012. The 23 individual rice cultivars are planted is both shallow and semi-deep situation, maintaining the replicated yield Trial (RYT) with Randomized Block Design (RBD). Field investigation in clearly shown that the LPR 1131 is much affected than any other rice cultivars by Hydrellia sp. (Whorl Maggot) and also has highest leaf length and flag leaf length in both shallow and semi-deep situation. The NDR 9460 is less affected than any other rice cultivars and has the lowest leaf length and flag leaf length in both conditions. The mean AV.% of pest attack in shallow land is higher than the mean AV.% of all pest attack in semi-deep land. The plant height of individual 23 rice cultivars in semi-deep land situation is larger than shallow land situation. The whorl maggot (Hydrellia sp.) damages are directly proportional to the leaf length and flag leaf length. From the calculations, it is shown that the rice cultivars of semi-deep land are less affected by insect-pest damage than the rice varieties of shallow land during Kharif season, 2012. It is also stated that having high water depth, the cultivars of semi-deep land are less damaged by pest. Due to the water depth, the plant heights of semi-deep land are higher than the plants of shallow land. So, it is concluded that the rice cultivation in Semi-deep land condition is more fruitful than shallow land situation. |

THEORY OF TRUTH AND ITS REALIZATION |
Author : Ramakrishna. G |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Truth is a deeper subject then it at first appears. A concept which confronts us at the start of discussion is the different forms of truth which all the "truth theories" assume. On an existant level everything which lies within our consciousness is in its own way true. The god Mars is true in its existance as idea, it is not however true as a physicalized incaration. It is these embodied facts which the Correspondence theory deals with, its theory is that that which is true is that which corresponds to reality, but before it even lays the first courner stone of its definition of truth it has already assumed the definition it seeks to prove by claiming reality is simply a cold collection of physicalized facts. |

Arun kolatkar a versatile genius contributed much to enrich the tradition of Indian English poetry by experimenting with fusion of the traditional and modern poetic forms and content. His poetry was so realistic . he had wrote the jejuri. Jejuri was a great success in Indian poetic world. First of all ,tha main question to be discussed is ,how far does jejuri appeal as an analysis of the contemporary Hindu religious and spiritual sensibility for which Indian is traditionally known . The poem describes the poet's visit to the town of “jejuri “and the hill of khandoba or lord shiva as the incarnation also known as malhari martand . the visit is completed in a half revolution of the sun ,starting in the early morning and ending in the late evening .the entire experiences is secularized and trivialized. The visitor is starkly noninvolved and frankly impervious to a sense of devotion, a spirit of worship which ordinarily and normally prompts thousand to visit jejuri. It is strikli8ng and intriguing to note that the experience is so familiar and yet so striking and intriguing who is an Indian. |

EQ COMPETENCIES AT WORKPLACE |
Author : Janet Bina Money |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Managing one's own emotion, understanding them and using that understanding to turn situations to one's own benefit is an important competency of EQ. It should be clearly understood that emotional intelligence not only enhances the ability of the human resource but also create professional relations among individuals and groups within the organization. What is the secret of human happiness and fulfillment? Philosophers, prophets, and other sages have debated this question since ancient times without arriving at a satisfactory resolution. The advance of psychology in the last century has raised the hope of a scientific answer. Perhaps, systematic, empirical study of human success and failure will tell us how we should live. Recently psychologists have proposed that understanding the emotions of oneself and others is the key to a satisfying life. Those people who are self-aware and sensitive to others manage their affairs with wisdom and grace, even in adverse circumstances. On the other hand, those who are ''emotionally illiterate'' blunder their way through lives marked by misunderstandings, frustrations, and failed relationships. A scientific understanding of this emotional intelligence may allow us to train our emotional skills so that we can live more fulfilling and productive lives. This paper analyses the various competencies that helps a person at his workplace. |

ADAPTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION |
Author : Mitesh A Patel ,Anand Rathod |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : In numerous applications of signal processing, communications and biomedical we are faced with the necessity to remove noise and distortion from the signals. Adaptive filtering is one of the most important areas in digital signal processing to remove background noise and distortion. As received signal is continuously corrupted by noise where both received signal and noise signal both changes continuously, then this arise the need of adaptive filtering. In last few years various adaptive algorithms are developed for noise cancellation. The least mean square (LMS) algorithm is an important variant of the classical adaptive linear filtering algorithm. It possesses many advantages over other algorithm, including having a good convergence and providing for an automatic timvarying choice of the LMS stepsize parameter that affects the stability, steady-state mean square error (MSE), and convergence speed of the algorithm. An auxiliary fixed step-size that is often introduced in the LMS algorithm has the advantage that its stability region (step-size range for algorithm stability) is independent of the signal statistics. This paper describes the development of an adaptive noise cancellation algorithm like LMS(Least Mean Square)for effective recognition of signal on MATLAB platform .We simulat e the adaptive filter in MATLAB with noisy signal and obtained result shows that LMS algorithm eliminates noise from noisy signal and get desired result at the output. |

CONCEPT OF EQUALITY UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA |
Author : Omdutt |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The guiding principle of the article is that all persons and things similarly circumstances shall be treated alike both in respect of priviledges conferred and liabilities imposed. In fact public welfare requires that persons, property and occupations be classified and be subjected to different and appropriate legislation. Government is not a simple exercise. It encounts and must deal with the problems which come from persons in an infinite variety of relations. The Supreme Court has stated that the equal protection of laws guaranteed by Article 14 of the constitution does not mean that all the laws must be general in character and universal in application and that the state is no longer to have the power of distinguishing and classifying person or things for the purpose of legislation. Equality before the law means that amongst equals the law should be equal and should be equally administered and that like should be treated alike. |

Author : P. Jayakumar,S. Arulkumar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The explosion of e-commerce activities required industry and academia to understand the key determinants of consumers' internet purchase intention. We developed an integrated model by examining how utilitarian factors (perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness) and social/psychological factors (trust) directly or indirectly influenced consumers' continuance intention in the context of internet shopping. Results from confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis with AMOSE 20 indicate that both utilitarian factors and social and psychological examined through this model provide statistically significant explanations of the variation in consumers' internet purchase intention. In the post-purchase stage, utilitarian factors play a more important role than social and psychological in predicting customer internet purchase intention. The integrated theoretical framework explains 63% of the variations in internet purchase intention. |

SCHINDLER'S LIST :A PROBE INTO THE ELEMENTS OF BACKGROUND SCORE |
Author : Tapti Roy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Schindler's List entered the long list of holocaust movies in 1993. The film is the only of its type directed till date by Steven Spielberg. It won seven academy awards including Best Director and Best original Score. Set between Kristallnacht and the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, it is the story of a salesman from Zwittau-Brinnlitz and his famous 'list' which is believed to have saved the life of about twelve hundred Jews from extermination at the hands of German Schutzstaffel. In a certain neorealistic mode the film portrays the psychological transformation of Schindler from a profit-mongering enamelware producer to a benevolent savior of the Jews in the P³aszów concentration camp. Shot in monochrome the film is a montage of a series of innumerable short shots held together by its background score. Spielberg has employed all possible measures to distance the audience from his work so as not to allow catharsis. In Spielberg's words the film was intended not to be identified with but to haunt the audience. The film evades pathos and swiftly moves to capture the excruciating tragedy in a documentary-like, matter-of-fact tone. |

Author : U. Albert Anand,B. Arun |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Low back pain is the most common musculoskeletal symptoms seen in 85 % of individuals in their life time. Pain arises without any inflammatory signs or traumatic signs termed as mechanical back pain. Though there are various means of management for the back pain, still no means proved efficient. Motor control exercises concentrate on segmental stabilization which works to prevent and treat the causative factor of mechanical back pain. This study focused to find out the motor control exercises on pain, functional disability and kinesiophobia in mechanical low back pain. Randomized control trial with 42 patients with mechanical low back pain were selected and assigned into two groups. 21 subjects in experimental group as Motor control exercises with back care advices whereas 21 subjects in control group with general back exercises with back care advices. Both groups were assessed for 8 weeks of duration. Following that the subjects pain scale, functional disability and kinesiophobia were analyzed using VAS, Oswestry disability index and Tampa scale of kinesiophobia. The values were analyzed using student 't' test and Anova. The result of the study shows that motor control exercises produces a significant change in pain, functional disability and kinesiophobia in mechanical low back pain. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : National budget includes two basic pillars of Revenue and Costs budget from viewpoint of law, is accordance and legal document for running countries annual matters, is in balance between executive and judiciary branch. Managing and organizing budget is the direct effect of political structure and relations between branches. The essence of budget sources is not the same. A part of government's incomes, derived from transmitting national wealth. Having access to this part of incomes is because of government's authority on public wealth and incomes. The other part of budget is the result of increasing in the value of economical activities along with taxing the society. The origin of accessibility of government to these resources is the power of governance that government has upon the society. Other part of governments income is derived from, the governments control over public establishments. Finally, some sections of governments income, comes from borrowing and temporary receptions. Author : Sandip Saha ,V. Gopinath |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : -In the present electronics era most of the adolescent are not participating in physical activities and concentrate on studies. Regular physical activity would be important for life's quality even if it had no relationship to disease and longevity. Physical activity is a significant ingredient in the quality of life, because it increases energy and promotes, physical and mental well being in addition to conferring health benefits. Boys from various schools of [Tripura (TR), Meghalaya (ML), Assam (AS), Mizoram (MZ), Manipur (MN), Nagaland (NL) and Arunachal Pradesh (A.R.)] (N=21000) North-Eastern states of India were selected as subjects at random. Their age ranged from 13, 14 & 15 years (studying from 7th to 10th standard). Flexibility was measured by the sit and reach box test. The collected data were analyzed by using one-way ANOVA. Among the groups and if any significant difference, scheffe's post hoc test was used to find out the paired mean difference (P ≤ 0.05). The results of the study show that, the adolescent boys of North-Eastern states were differing on hip flexibility. Hence it was concluded that, age, geographical region, growth, social behaviour, food habits and level of physical activity may influence the flexibility of adolescent boys. |

Author : Dnyaneshwar M.Sirsat,Madhusudhan T. Bachute |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : An environmentally benign and clean synthesis of â-Enamino ketoneshas been achieved using aqueous extract of Acacia concinna pods as a natural surfactant type biocatalyst. We found for the first time that the aqueous extract of Acacia concinna pods could be effectively used for the synthesis of â-Enamino ketones. This efficient process proceeds smoothly in aqueous medium at room temperature. The low cost, easy availability of the catalyst and simple reaction conditions suggest the possible use of present method for the large scale preparations of â-Enamino ketones. |

Author : Baiju Abraham |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The purpose of the study was to predict the performance ability of jumpers and throwers in relation to selected Motor fitness components. Forty male athletes aged between 14-18 years were selected from Sports Authority of India (SAI) Lucknow. To find out the Motor fitness components to the long jump and shot-put performance correlations, multiple correlations and regression analysis statistical technique were employed. The result of the study showed insignificant difference in motor fitness components in long jump performance of jumpers muscular strength (pull-ups), muscular endurance (bent knee sit-ups) circulatory respiratory endurance (600yards run/walk) and agility (shuttle run) and shot-put performance in throwers (speed (50 yards run), muscular power (standing broad jump), circulatory respiratory endurance (600yard run/walk), flexibility (sit and reach) and agility (shuttle run). The Motor fitness components namely speed (50 yards run), muscular power (standing broad jump) and flexibility (sit and reach) are significantly related to long jump performance of jumpers and muscular strength (pull-ups) and muscular endurance (bent knee sit-ups) are significantly related to shot put performance of throwers. The multiple linear regression equations developed in the study for independent variables are Motor fitness components which have shown significant relationship to long jump performance of jumpersand shot-put performance of throwers. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The global economic recession caused by the misdeeds of investment banks such asLehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs aided and abetted by insurance behemoths such as AIGled to the collapse of the investment banking industry in the US, failure of over 60 banksand financial markets meltdown. Due to the interlinked nature of the global economy andwith many central banks and institutions across the world holding securities of theinvestment banks, the failure of investment banks led to panic across the world and hugelosses. The crisis has led to great loss of investor wealth, huge job losses, loss of investorconfidence, increased risk of counter party losses, steep decline in demand and exports.Economies across the world face a bleak future in terms of GDP growth rates and tradelosses. The Indian insurance industry which has enjoying healthy growth rates and beingone of the fastest growing insurance markets in the world is expected to be impacted by theglobal economic recession. The entry of many private companies has created a paradigmshift in insurance marketing in India in terms of products, tariffs, customer service etc., andhas been the prime cause of the upswing in the insurance market. Considering the fact thatinsurance penetration in the country is abysmally low when compared to other developingcountries it is imperative that the growth momentum is sustained. This paper explore thestrategies that insurance companies can adopt in order to ensure that they continue to maintain high levels of growth in order to be able to counter the negative impact of theglobal economic recession |
