Author : T. Hareeshand V. V. Narasimha Murthy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Cascaded Half-Bridge(CHB) multilevel inverter is a popular converter topology and has found widespread applications in industry, for instance, in high-power medium-voltage drives and reactive power compensating. In this, power cells are cascaded using two inverter legs in series. In the place of two parallel inverter legs, as used in CHB power cells. The Half–Bridge cells are usually connected in cascaded mode on their ac side to achieve medium-voltage operation and reduction of harmonic effect. Both IGBT/Diode switches are used in same leg with input voltage as Vdc/2. In this, Half-Bridge connection, half of the power is dissipated through the switches. The explosion severity of a power cell is reduced to half by this connection. The reliability of the system is improved and cost effectiveness. The phase shift pulse width modulating technique is used where five level cascaded Half-Bridge inverters are present. |

The slum population has been multiplied in recent years due to : lAvailability of the employment opportunities in the big towns and cities. lAvailability of the means of livelihood in the urban areas against the rural areas. This implies that the rural poverty gets transferred to the urban areas. The rural people are attracted to the urban areas for the economic reasons exclusively irrespective of the nonavailability of the physical infrastructures. They struggle to find housing facility. TRANSLATION AS PROTEST |
Author : KumarAshish |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : « Nowhere in Hindustan is the language of the village the same as the language of the court and the school » India is a multicultural and multilingual country. There are more than 1600 languages spoken in India. We all speak at least two or three languages in our daily life, so translation is not something new for us. Normally, we consider that translation is just a transfer of a code from one language to another. But it is not the true picture of the reality. In Indian context, the equivalent terms defining the word ‘Translation’ represent different connotations. Besides, the strategies used by the translators are also not the same. There are many nomenclatures to define the process of translation. For example, the word ‘Rupantar’ signifies the change in form while ‘Anuwad’ stands to say afterwards. The word ‘Bhashantar’marks the change of code from one language to another. They are several other words also like ‘Sahsrijan’, ‘Sweekaran’, ‘Bhawanuwad’, ‘Tarzumaan’, ‘Anukaran’etc. |

Author : Rajkumar Rathod |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Education is a continuous and never ending process. The concept “Human Resource Development” is of high value in business and industry and has been used and applied since years. In industry and business the human element is considered as a resource and hence its development and protection is very essential and inevitable. Of all the factors of production, human resource is the only factor having rational faculty and therefore, it must be handled with utmost care. Right recruitment, right training and right induction followed by faultless monitoring and welfare measures are but decisive factors in business and industry. Altogether there is a constant attention up on human factor there. But this is not a practice at all in education. So far there has not been any such measure of care and close watch and performance analysis of human resource on education front. This may be the main reason for lack of accountability in the sphere of education. |

RECENT TRENDS IN MULTILINGUAL SPEECH PROCESSING |
Author : Deepak H. More , Ashok T. Gaikawad and Vivek H. |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : In this paper, we describ Multilingual speech processing has been a topic of ongoing interest to the research community for many years and the field is now receiving renewed interest owing to two strong driving forces. Firstly, technical advances in speech recognition and synthesis are posing new challenges and opportunities to researchers. For example, discriminative features are seeing wide application by the speech recognition community, but additional issues arise when using such features in a multilingual setting. Another example is the apparent convergence of speech recognition and speech synthesis technologies in the form of statistical parametric methodologies. The second driving force is the impetus being provided by both government and industry for technologies to help break down domestic and international language barriers, these also being barriers to the expansion of policy and commerce. Speech-tospeech and speech-to-text translation are thus emerging as key technologies at the heart of which lies multilingual speech processing. |

THE MENACE OF THE UNKNOWN: RE-READING HAROLD PINTER’S THE BIRTHDAY PARTY |
Author : Tanmoy Baghira |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : After the two world wars men were unable to come out of its horrors and disillusionment. The war which was glorified sooner brings forth total confusion and disorderly situation which none can avoid. This era therefore gives birth to a number of dramatists who constructs The Theatre of Absurd. Pinter’s early plays are often been attributed as ‘comedy of menace’ due to their superficial fun, and inherent menacing, verbal violence, erotic fantasy, obsession jealousy, family hatred and mental disturbance in terms of wordless language. Language plays an important part in constructing the meaning of any text; it simultaneously can voice or silence any issues it is dealing with. Pinter problematizes the use of language in his several plays. His dramas often involve strong conflicts among ambivalent characters who struggle for verbal and territorial dominance and for their own versions of the past. My intention in this paper is to identify how the motif of menace is actualized through verbal violence, uncertain past of characters and sudden, unexpected drop from a comic surface to an underlying seriousness and uncanny. |

Author : Jagdish Chand |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : In the Indian Himalayas on the western edge of the Tibetan plateau, Ladakh, or 'Little Tibet', is one of the highest and driest inhabited places on earth. The enormous mass of the Himalayas creates a rain shadow, denying entry to the moisture-laden clouds of the Indian monsoon. Ladakh is thus, a high altitude desert. The main source of water is the winter snowfall on the mountains. The regions on the north flank of the Himalayas-Dras, the Suru valley and Zanskar-experience heavy snowfall and remain virtually cut off from the rest of the country for several months in the year. Summers are short, although long enough to grow crops. Ladakh displays a cold-desert landscape sculpted by Quaternary glaciations and cryogenic weathering, with superimposed effects of fluvial and mass movement processes. The upper Indus River, along with the Shyok is the backbone of Ladakh. The different landforms produced by Indus River and associated livelihood of people of the valley has been studied. |

Author : Prabhakar Singh and Dolly Soni |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Robert Frost was important to American poetry during the first half of the twentieth century because he maintained traditional meter, structure, and themes during a time when modernism was the dominant poetic mode. He was a popular poet, but he never sacrificed his art for that popularity. His style was plain, but his poetic structures were complex. Frost devoted a great deal of time and effort to presenting himself to his audience as a simple and rural poet and seldom revealed the complexity and darkness within. Afamous controversy occurred at Frost’s seventy-fifth birthday celebration when Lionel Trilling spoke of Frost as a “terrifying” poet. |

Author : SK Sant , ANG Hyder and Anurag Yadav |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The metabolic systems are present in muscle as in other parts of the body; however, special quantitative measures of the activities of three metabolic systems are exceedingly important in understanding the limits of physical activity. These systems are (1) the phosphocreatine-creatine system, (2) the glycogen-lactic acid system, and (3) the aerobic system. In exercise, stored oxygen is used within a minute or so for aerobic metabolism. Then, after the exercise is over, this stored oxygen must be replenished by breathing extra amounts of oxygen over and above the normal requirements. All this extra oxygen that must be “repaid,” , is called the oxygen debt. |
