BUS SAFETY SYSTEM FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN USING RFID AND BY USING ARM |
Author : K.Haritha, B. Murali Krishana |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This paper presents a system to monitor pick-up/drop-off of school children to enhance the safety of children during the daily transportation from home to school. The system consists of two main units, a bus unit and a school unit. The bus unit the system is used to detect when a child boards or leaves the bus. This information is communicated to the school unit that identifies which of the children did not board or leave the bus, Issues an alert message accordingly and gives information of allotted seat numbers to the students. The system has a developed web-based database-driven application that facilities its management and provides useful information about the children to authorized personal. A complete prototype of the proposed system was implemented and tested to validate the system functionality. The results show that the system is promising for daily transportation.

EVALUATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES ON AS – CAST AND HEAT TREATED AL7075 ALLOY REINFORCED WITH ALBITE PARTICULATE COMPOSITES |
Author : Batluri Tilak Chandra,Sanjeevamurthy,H. S. Shiva Shankar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Aluminium 7075 alloy reinforced with albite particulate composites having 2 wt% to 10 wt% in steps of 2 wt% were developed by stir casting method. The casted composite specimens were heat treated at 470° C solutioninzing temperature with artificial ageing at 120° C. The composite specimens were machined and
tested as per ASTM standards. Microstructural analysis clearly reveals that uniform dispersion of albite particulates in the matrix alloy. From mechanical properties test it was observed that increase in hardness, tensile strength and compression strength when compared with As – Cast composites. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Electrolyte type, due to the nature of its constituent ions, affects the reaction rate, the uniformity of the electric field and formation of the external layer on the workpiece surface in the machining area during the electrochemical machining process, Also it causes to creation of different dissolution behaviors of the workpiece. Therefore in this study the effect of sodium chloride, sodium nitrate, potassium chloride and hydrochloric acid electrolytes with different currents on the electrochemical machining characteristics of stainless steel 304, including material removal rate, side gap and surface roughness, has been investigated. The results showed that the formation of a passive layer during the machining with sodium nitrate
electrolyte reduces the material removal rate and side gap compared with sodium chloride and potassium chloride electrolytes. According to the experimental results,by increasing the machining current, surface roughness in sodium chloride and potassium chloride electrolytes is decreased, but this amount increases in the sodium nitrate electrolyte. Also the material removal rate and side gap rise in the case of sodium
chloride, sodium nitrate and potassium chloride when combined with hydrochloric acid. On the other hand, the surface roughness reduces in the combined sodium chloride and potassium chloride electrolytes, but increases in the combined sodium nitrate electrolyte |

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS AND STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF TURBO GENERATOR FRAME FOUNDATION – A REVIEW |
Author : Madhu Priya M, Chandru P , Vijaya Sarathy R, Jose Ravindra Raj B |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Development in manufacturing technology has given rise to greater dynamic forces which leads to the development of greater stress. Thereby to ensure better performance and to avoid failures, foundation design plays a vital role. A key ingredient to the successful foundation design for a turbo-generator is the
careful engineering analysis of the foundation response to the dynamic loads from the anticipated operation of the machine. This paper highlights a detailed procedure for the structural design of a framed foundation structure along with dynamic analysis of machine foundation design. |

EFFECTS OF IMPROPER WASTE DISPOSAL TO THE ENVIRONMENT (CASE STUDY: WUKARI) |
Author : Onaivi. Daniel Azamata, KyengeSelumun Solomon, Obekpa Usman Charles |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This research paper focuses on the effects of improper waste disposal to the environment. (Case Study: Wukari). Waste can be defined as an unwanted substance or Waste can be defined as a material eliminated as no longer useful or required after the completion of a process. It can be grouped into various categories. They include: - hazardous, non-hazardous and municipal solid wastes. Major problems faced in Nigerian communities is the disposal of mostly non-hazardous waste. Some methods that are commonly practiced in wukari involve disposal of waste through incineration and landfill. The data to be evaluated will be collected through the uses of questionnaire’s which was analyzed and gives a general information on the adverse effects of waste disposal in wukari, Taraba state. This shows that the most preferred method of waste disposal in wukari is landfill over incineration and the major type of waste disposed is non-hazardous waste.

SMART SHOPPING SYSTEM FOR BILLING AUTOMATION |
Author : Vatsalya Singhi, Kayalvizhi Jayavel |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Todays information era aims at digitalizing data and implementing efficient, intuitive and user
friendly systems to simplify human life. Creating a smart cart that takes care of instantaneous
billing is a leap towards a futuristic and fully automated shopping experience. Buying product in
large grocery stores with a vast variety of products is a tedious and time consuming process which can
be improved by automating the billing system. The smart shopping cart consists of a portable
computational device (like raspberry pi) and an automatic product identification technology (like the
radio frequency identification technology). Instant billing without long queues at counters and keeping
track of expenditure real time are the two objectives of this intelligent cart. This paper is based on
developing a project with the aim to reduce time spent on shopping of everyday items and making the
process less tedious. Furthermore, it enables the consumers to utilize their time on other fruitful and
more important activities. |
