INFANTS LEARNING PHONOTACTIC PATTERNS |
Author : Iman Jebur Janam |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The phonemes of any language do not combine freely in a random way. There are constraints of different types on the combination of the phonemes within a word. So, this study is an attempt to investigate the acceptable combination of phonemes since if these phonemes are combined in a wrong way, this wrong combination will affect on the meaning of the word and then the meaning of the whole sentence as well and which will, as a result, lead to ambiguity. This study aims at stating the main types of phonotactics and presenting a detailed account of phonotactic patterns and how infants learn them.

DETERMINE THE OPTIMAL PRODUCTION PLAN FOR ECONOMIC RESOURCES USING BOUNDED VARIABLES DECISION MAKING |
Author : Dr. Haseeb A. Al-shammari |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Decision making plays an important role in economic, finance, statistics, operations research, engineering, so on. The optimal planning of economic resources requires decision makers in the industrial establishment to use quantitative approaches and mathematical models in the preparation and design of strategies and choose optimal plans. In this paper, a
bounded variables quantitative approach is used. It is a more flexible quantitative approach than the unbounded approach,
whereby the decision maker can build a mathematical model for determining the optimal production plan for economic resources according to the available resources. This approach helps the decision maker to formulate the mathematical model with decision variables that have upper and lower bounds according to the available resources. |

GREEK GODS AND OTHER OLD BELIEFS ACCORDING TO D. H. LAWRENCE S POEMS |
Author : Mohammed Abdulhussein Muneer |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :For the D. H. Lawrence, the anthropomorphic deities led to a higher valuation of man, and "encouraged man to worship
the universe with his whole body, rather than with only his spiritual part." Anyone reading the stories of Zeus, Dionysus
and Hermes immediately notices their strongly physical character. In addition to the stress on physicality, Tracy says that Lawrence attempted to recapture the worshipful attitude towards nature of archaic man by returning to a mythical
consciousness. He sought to regain "the conception of the vitality of the cosmos" lost in the other-worldly religions like
Judaism, Christianity and others. The thoughts and lives of men of ancient cultures were firstly an irrational mass, an undeliberated force of nature, like the currents of a river, and secondly they found their natural expression in stories and
symbols. This aspect of the Last Poems has been called the "return of the Olympians" |

EXPERIENCING LANGUAGE – A STEP TOWARDS GLOBAL CULTURE |
Author : NASEER SHUKUR HUSSEIN AL-RUBAYE |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The study of linguistics involves dealing with numerous terms. An attempt has been made in the paper to simplify the issue of language acquisition by explaining it in the fewest possible terms. The chief tenet is that language is neither learnt nor acquired but it is experienced. Pointing out the close relationship between language and culture, it has been stated that language is a part of culture, which is ‘internalized’ by an individual. Consequently, language is also internalized along with culture and it is a part of personality. One individual reacts to another in totality and individuals belonging to different communities react totally with each other, resulting in exchange of languages as well as cultures |

FALLING MAN AND AMERICAN MEDIA: COVERING THE 9/11 TERROR ATTACKS |
Author : Ass.Lecturer Fahmi Salem Hameed |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Falling Man as any other novel has been critically studied and examined from many different angles. It is obvious that the novel is taking on the terror attacks of 9/11. However, In After the Fall (2011), for Richard Gray, the novel is said to be dealing with “the condition of melancholia: that condition which Freud identified as one of emotional isolation and inertia,” (28). And that it is certainly more precise to say that the novel is confined to the melancholic condition, contributing an oral correspondent of serenity, that it is an indication rather than a conclusion. It is also investigated as revolving around the image of that man falling off from one of the towers and the impact of the attacks on American people. The novel traces the lives of Keith and Lianne who have survived the attacks, but their lives “are haunted both by the literal man who fell from the towers, and by a performance artist who—in shocking acts of aesthetic terrorism— replicates the falling man in public spaces,” (Hill 12).

AN ANALYSIS OF RANDOM EFFECTS RESULTS OF THE NET PROFIT MARGIN (NPM) MODEL IN EXPLAINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PROFITABILITY AND CORE COMPONENTS OF WORKING CAPITAL MANAGEMENT (A STUDY OF SELECTED MANUFACTURING COMPANIES IN NIGERIA) |
Author : Dr. Aminu Yusuf |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The random effect model is also called random intercepts or partial pooling model. The rationale behind random effects
model is that, unlike the fixed effects model, the variation across entities is assumed to be random and uncorrelated with the
predictor or independent variables included in the model This paper analyzed a total no. of 55 manufacturing companies in
Nigeria. Findings from the random effects model of the Net Profit Margin (NPM)model revealed that the average collection
period (ACP) and inventory conversion period (ICP) were negatively and significantly related to the net profit margin (NPM)
with coefficient values of -0.6466 and -0.7807 respectively. |

Abstract :This study had successfully used Gross Profit Margin (GPM) to test the relationship between working capital management
and profitability of companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Panel data methodology was employed to test this
relationship and a sample of 55 manufacturing companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Panel regression results
and findings revealed a statistically significant relationship between major components of working capital (ACP and ICP)
and profitability of companies. It was therefore recommended that more restricted working capital investment policy is
more profitable than a more flexible policy by the Nigerian manufacturing firms listed on the stock exchange.

STRATEGIC THINKING AND STRATEGIC DECISIONS-MAKING |
Author : Dr.Ali Mohammed Salloom |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The choice of strategy derives primarily from SWOT results, and the institution that develops a strategic plan does not take into account the importance of the core elements of the matrix (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) that will put themselves at risk and as a general rule managers should build strategies on what is best. It should be noted that most business organizations in all their activities and sizes are also elements of strength and elements of weakness, but the difference between them lies in the strengths and weaknesses and the extent of the negative or positive impact on the performance of work, and the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of one aspect of strategic position, while the other side Opportunities and threats surrounding the organization. Strategic thinking appears in the analysis and linking of the results related to the data of the internal and external environment, so it is built primarily on the formation of comprehensive perceptions of the reality of the organization, which works as a strategic thinker on the present and future requirements |
