Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :At every moment the individual is confronted with two kinds of demands; the demands of his physiological and psychological make-up, and the demands of the environment in which he lives. In order to live a contented and happy life he has to adjust himself to these demands. In other words he should achieve a harmony with in himself, and between himself and the social set-up: this harmony is known as adjustment. The term adjustment has two meanings. In one sense it is the process by which a person changes his behavior to achieve a harmonious relation between himself and his environment; and in the other it is the state of such harmonious relationship. In the present study the researcher made an attempt to explore how the adjustment problems influence the higher secondary students in relation to some selected variables. |

Author : K.U.GORE |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The FTIR of adsorbed pyridine has been used as a characteristic tool to detect and measure the presence of Bronsted and Lewis acid centers on the solid surfaces The FTIR bands of pyridine are of inter est to study the C-H and N-H stretching as well as the C-C and the C-N stretching in pyridine ring. In fig1-5 FTIR Spectra of adsorbed pyridine at 100,200, 300, 400OCon the samples are listed in the table are depicted. The acidity ,stability as well as catalytic activity of the Na-Y zeolite can be changed to various level by modifying its pore opening, pore volume void volumes as well as frame work Si/Al ratio and it is made suitable as a stable catalyst under sever conditions of catalytic reaction. |

BIODECOLORIZATION OF DIAZO DIRECT DYE CONGO RED BY FUSARIUM SP. TSF-01 |
Author : KANYAKUMARI P.SHINDE AND PRAKASH R. THORAT |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Azo dyes represent the largest class of synthetic organic colorants listed in the colour index. Many synthetic dyes are toxic, mutagenic or carcinogenic. Congo red is a carcinogenic, recalcitrant and complex diazo direct dye used commonly for the coloration in textile and paper industries. It was selected as model pollutant. The fungal stain Fusarium sp. TSF-01 isolated from textile wastewater sludge was screened for decolorization of Congo red. This strain has given 94.97 and 98.09 % decolorization of a recalcitrant dye, Congo red (100 mgL-1) at agitation and static condition within 3 days respectively. FTIR analysis revealed the degradation of Congo red by this isolate. This study revealed the enormous biodegradation abilities of indigenous microbial flora. Fusarium sp. TSF-01 is an efficient strain for the decolorization of azo textile dyes effluents. |

RELIGIOUS VISION: A STUDY OF GRAHAM GREENE'S NOVELS |
Author : ALKA SAROHA AND S. K. VASISHTA |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :A work of fiction is an aesthetic representation of the society and the author's personality. The inner life of an author is reflected in his works. The author's imagination embodies in his characters the fundamental conflicts of his own nature. That every writer is a product of his times and his outlook on life is conditioned by the mood of his age and Greene is no exception. The social, political and economic developments of the century, far from resolving the split, the schizophrenia in man's personality have further aggravated it. The experience of two world wars, have accentuated the individuals feelings of loneliness, disillusionment and sterility. Greene emphasizes the seediness, sterility and despair of modern civilization. He however is not content to give merely the picture of frustration and rootlessness but emphasizes that religion alone can give us relief. Man he warns will lose all his human qualities unless he holds on to faith in religion. The spiritual void has to be filled in order to feel at home in challenging universe and face the brute forces of evil. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The trend in sexratios of population is used to denote the number of females per thousand males. The sexratio refiects the socio-economic and demographic characteristics. An attempt is made to study the spatio-temperal changes in sex-ratio of Solapur district. There have been wide variation in sex-ratios during last ten decodes, because in the year 1901, it wasnot much distributed, when it was 985 per 1000 males, for the district. While in the most recent decode, in 2001, the sex-ratio dectined, substantially and become as low as 936 respectively for the district under study. While for the state of Maharashtra, the sex-ratio declined from 978 in the year 1901 to 922 in the year 2001. The lower rural sex-ratio in different tahsils of the Solapur district may be attributed to the high infant mortality among the females as a result of less availability of medical facilities and negligence of female children, as regard to medical facilities in rural areas of the district. |

PHENOL OXIDATION AS A TEST REACTION FOR TI INCORPORATION IN MODIFIED FORMS OF Y- ZEOLITES |
Author : K.U.GORE |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The Phenol oxidation is considered as a test reaction in confirmation of the frame work incorporation of Ti in the zeolite as per the reported methods. The applications of the zeolites can be changed depending upon the modification of the zeolite without much disturbing its crystallinity. The position of the incorporated active metal inside the zeolite also affects its characteristics. The zeolite-Y is the single largest used zeolite even today in refining and petrochemical industries due to its 3D pore structure. Most of the zeolites are unstable and lose their activity at higher temperature and in hydrothermal conditions. The Synthesized highly crystalline Na-Y zeolite in pure form is obtained ,from Union Carbide Corporation, USA (Linde, SK-40) with Si/Al = 2.4 as a original sample for further modification. It is convert into NH4-Y form by using Ammonium Nitrate solution at 1000C using reflux method and calcined at 5000C,The process were repeated three times to convert it in to highly crystalline frorm of low silica H-Y zeolite. |
