Abstract :Primary Education is the core of all higher education as it lays the foundation of life. That is why at this stage all entities of a child need to develop in an interesting way. The purpose of the study is to reveal the real picture of Health and Physical Education in primary schools of West Bengal. METHOD: - Twelve Primary Schools were randomly selected and surveyed by the investigators. Physical Education infrastructure; man power; financial involvement for games and sports; students and teachers' attitude towards health and Physical Education were surveyed. Measurement Technique: 1. Structure Method: A set of questionnaire was developed to collect the data from primary schools. 2. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Method: PRA method was adopted to obtain an overall picture of the health of each child. RESULTS: - There was no trained physical education teacher in any school. A few schools had play field but that was inadequate and poorly maintained. Playing equipments were also insufficient in all the schools. 50% children under survey had health problems. |

EFFECT OF YOGASANA AND SWISS BALL TRAINING ON BALANCE OF SEDENTARY MALE STUDENTS |

Abstract :For the purpose of the study 30 sedentary male students from Pondicherry University were randomly selected and their age ranged between 19-22 years. Subjects were asked to assemble in the multipurpose hall in the morning hours and were given training. The subjects were hostlers and their food pattern was similar. Their life style and living condition were not taken into consideration. They were divided into three groups A, B and C with 10 subjects in each group. Group A was kept under control, group B was treated with yogasana training and group C were given Swiss ball training. The subjects of group B and C underwent training for twelve weeks with the duration of 45 minutes. The training was started at 6.30 am and it was given for 6 days a week. The pre test and post test on balance was measured and the data was statistically analysed by using ANCOVA to find out the significant difference among the three groups. The finding of the study revealed that there was a beneficial effect on balance for both the experimental groups when compared to the control. The training was more effective for Swiss ball training group than asana group. |

Abstract :The purpose of the study present study was to study the effect of sand running for endurance development among athletes. 40 Male athletes between the age group of 18 to 25 years (20 Experimental Group and 20 Control Group) were taken for the study. The Eight Weeks endurance training program for experimental group were given to experimental group which includes more sand running on alternate days and controlled group was given general training of athletics. The Pre Test and Post Test were conducted through Cooper Test for both groups to evaluate the effects of sand running. This study shows that the sand running has increase the endurance among the Experimental group along with Physiological capacity of the athletes. It is recommended that sand running is good for the endurance development of athletes. |

Abstract :In sport the psychological aspects of are playing serving as deterministic factor specifically in high level completions Among the psychological aspects anxiety is one of the most predictor since it is related to psycho physiological functions of a player. Such a theoretical construct was impelled the researcher to study the cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety and self-confidence on teams played before the quarterfinals since all inter-university tournaments are league based. Methods: To achieve the purpose of the present study as samples players belong to selected teams those who were entered in to semi fnlas at All India Inter University Volleyball tournament totally 48 were selected in the age group of 18-24. |
