Abstract :Cooperative movement has gained prominence in our country since independence and has helped in empowering millions of downtrodden people of our society. One such milestone in the history of cooperative movement in the country is Ponlait, which works in the Union Territory of Puducherry with 38 retail outlets and 152 salesmen, accomplishing a monthly turnover of almost 3 crores of rupees. Ponlait got the distinction of gaining entry into MNEMONIC club of the NDDB for the country’s dairy cooperatives on 30/03/2002. Ponlait enjoys almost three-fourth share of the dairy market in Puducherry.Considering the role played by the society for serving lakhs of households and dairy farmers, this descriptive study has made an attempt to analyse the level of customer satisfaction towards Ponlait products by administering a well structured interview schedule to 233 Ponlait customers selected in Puducherry using Convenience sampling technique.

Abstract :Over the past decade, HR researchers and practitioners have focused their attention on other important questions, Like- what determines when an organization adopts a strategic approach to HRM and how is HR strategy formulated? One area of interest is which organizations are most likely to adopt a strategic approach to HRM. i.e. is there, a positive association with a given set of external and internal characteristics or contingencies and the adoption of SHRM? Another area of interestis the policies and practices of making up different HR strategies, or Is it possible to identify a cluster or bundle of HR practices with different strategic competitive models?

Abstract :At the time of independence the country was facing many problems like inequalities in income, low levels of employment, regional imbalances in economic development and lack of trained manpower. In this view the public sector in India was set up with the objective of achieving inclusive growth. The main object of this paper is to present a picture of the public sector enterprises in India based on the secondary literature available. Different issues related to the performance of the public sector enterprises is discussed on the backdrop of their contribution to Indian economy. The paper helps in creating an understanding of the role played by public sector enterprises in the economic development of the country.

Abstract :The service sector in India is witnessing tremendous changes because of political, social and economic upheavals that are taking place domestically and internationally. When the 90s saw the revamping of banking and insurance industry and setting up of a new generation private organization, the first decade of the 21st century will proceed a little further. Now the banking and insurance has become too open and competitive. The basic focus and direction has changed from a level of moderate business to a maximum possible limit. It leads to high level of stress among the employees in general and women employees in particular. Therefore, the aim this study is to analyze the relationship between human resource management practices and occupational stress of the women employees. The study is restricted to banking and insurance sector in Tiruvarur district of the Tamil Nadu.
