Abstract :Livestock wealth is very precious for a developing country like India. In India, animal husbandry is no longer a subsidiary to agriculture or a backyard vocation. Animal husbandry has metamorphosed into an industry and the latest reports suggest that the contribution of animal husbandry sector to the GDP of the nation is substantially higher despite the meager input. The main purpose of this article is to study an Indian scenario of the role of information technology through various systems. Definitely such systems are very important to identify diseases affecting cattle (and there by the livelihood of the poor), to provide appropriate dissemination methods to deliver information on these diseases to the cattle owners and to evaluate these methods. Abstract :Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are the thrift and credit groups formed informal way whose members pool savings and relend within the group on rotational or needs basis. These groups have operated on co-operative principles and do collective actions. They succeeded in performing/providing banking services to their members door steps without any defaults. They are formed for addressing their common problems. They make regular savings habit and use the pooled savings for the benefit of their members through a structured process of essential financial intermediation like prioritization of needs, setting self-determined terms for repayment and keeping records. It builds financial discipline and credit history that then encourages banks to lend to them in certain multiples of their own savings and without any demand for collateral security. The present study is based on secondary data source and considered as the powerful instrument for women empowerment and eradication of poverty. The SBLP has made an adventure in the economy by transforming the formal banking services to rural poor and needy people particularly women group. The study is concluded with remarkable findings and suggestion found during the review of earlier studies. |

Abstract :Mutual Funds family ensure retail investors' easy access to capital market, institutional investors parked funds in diversified schemes suitable to their investment objectives. The industry became anemic in view of global financial meltdown followed by low investors' confidence. Equity schemes are worst affected and lagged in attaining benchmark returns. Debt scheme witnessed fluctuation too as corporate giants using this route for their specific purposes. However, the fund managers being professionals have not added value to the unit holders. Jensen's alfa lies in the range of 0.03 – 0.61. This has warranted fund managers to evolve strategies for restructuring need based product with a differentiation hedging market risk and ensuring better return for investors. |

Abstract :Improved education and employment opportunities for women coupled with rising costs of living have seen a steady rise in the number of working women in most fields. Pune is a growing hub for the different sectors and it is observed that there is a marked presence of women in all the sectors. Since a working woman more responsibility and needs to take initiatives both on family and job front, hence there is need for provision of family friendly policies for balancing both these responsibilities. This paper attempts to throw light on the different family friendly policies provided for the women employees in different sectors, and explores the extent to which these policies are benefiting the women employees. Lastly it brings out the expectations of the women employees regarding the different policies in place and also efforts needed further for maintaining work life balance. |

Abstract :The State has a population of 11.24 crore (Census 2011) which is 9.3 per cent of the total population of India. The State is highly urbanised with 45.2 percent people residing in urban areas. The State has 35 districts which are divided into six revenue divisions viz. Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati and Nagpur for administrative purposes. The State has a long tradition of having statutory bodies for planning at the district level. For local self-governance in rural areas, there are 33 Zilla Parishads, 351 Panchayat Samitis and 27,906 Gram Panchayats. Maharashtra is India's leading industrial state contributing 13% of national industrial output. 64.14% of the people are employed in agriculture and allied activities. Almost 46% of the GSDP is contributed by industry.Maharashtra has had an immense History in textiles and Mumbai city was the original home of India's textile mills. Today some of the city's known for textile industry Solapur, Ichalkaranji, Malegaon and Bhiwandi. |

Abstract :There is need to have stable and consistent policies where markets play a deserving role and private investment in infrastructure is stepped up. An efficient supply chain that firmly establishes the linkage between retail demand and the farmer will be important. Retionalization of agricultural incentives and strengthening of food price management will also help, toegether with a predictable trade policy for agriculture. These initiatives need to be coupled with skill development and better research and development in this sector along with improved delivery of credit, seeds, risk management tools, and other inputs ensuring sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. Finally, while the sharp increase in prices of food articles, especially proteins, fruits and vegetables, and the growing foodgrains stocks in public sector continue to be subjects of debate, these may be the pointers towards the need for both relative price shifts responding to shifts in demand and reconsidering traditional instruments of food management. |
