Abstract : The paper aims to explore different applications of social media for library and information science resources and services. Social media investigates the users's attitude towards the usefulness of social media in library. The use of social media is important to capture the attention of online users and helps in distance learning and knowledge sharing. users recommended the use of Facebook, Wikis, LinkedIn, Blogging, YouTube and online groups for different library services. They indicated that inadequate training opportunities, lack of knowledge, privacy and identity theft, slow speed of internet and electricity failure are the problems for applying social media in libraries of India in library resources and services. They demanded for trainings for social media usage and suggested that libraries should develop social media page for maximum exploitation of library services. tudy recommends that libraries should develop their educational plan for utilizing social media for news and service alerts and quick updates to online users and fund raising. |

Abstract : The present study was carried out at Tumkur University affiliated First Grade Colleges, i.e. Constitute Colleges, Government Colleges, Aided Colleges and Un-Aided Colleges. This study aims to examine the Information resources and services, facilities, use of Internet, factors affecting the optimum utilization of N-List Services, place of access, purpose of use, types of services, level of satisfaction, problem faced while accessing, training/ orientation program and preferred external storage medium for storing information resources downloaded via N-List Services. For this purpose the researchers prepared a well structured questionnaire and interview schedule as a tool for data collection and same was analyzed and presented with useful percentage analysis and suitable table for presentation of data. The article summarizes the results highlighting the major findings, suggestions and conclusion. |

Abstract : Analysis of data collected from 27 librarians of management college libraries located in S.V. University area, Andhra Pradesh, India, using a questionnaire indicates that all the management college libraries work from 8-10 hours a day on working days. Most of the librarians (77.8%) possess M.L.I.Sc. degree along with another post-graduate degree. Most of them (85.2%) are getting consolidated pay. Most of the libraries (88.9%) follow open access system. The majority of the libraries acquire books from local distributors / agents (66.7%) and procure periodicals directly from publishers (85.2%). Abstract :The electronic resources have grown in to an all-subject, perennial reservoir. The e-resources, available in different file formats and in multi-variety forms, have captured the attention of the research scholars in the recent years, thanks to the vast digital resources made available in engineering colleges. This study attempts to trace out the awareness and use of e-resources by the engineering students of two enginnering colleges viz. Pannai College of Enginerring and Technology and Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering college located in Sivagangai District. A sample size of 150 engineering students was selected by random sampling method. The data required for the study was collected through a questionnaire. The findings of the study: 86.67% of the respondent are aware the electronic resources. 81.33% of the respondents access the electronic resources. 39.34% of the respondents preferred to use E-journals. 32.79% of the respondents access the electronic resources regularly. 43.33% of the respondents learn through guidance from friends. 35.33% of the respondents use the electronic resources for research/project work. 29.33% of the respondents use the electronic resources for time saving. 34.67% of the respondents report that lack of facilities is the prime problem while using electronic resources. 23.33% of the respondents report that benefits of electronic resources over conventional documents for time saving. 54.67% of the respondents report that access of electronic resources is important. 46.67% of the respondents are satisfied with the use of electronic resources. |

Abstract : The present study is an attempt to identify the impact of ICT on collection development of R & D libraries of Karnataka. For the purpose of data collection the researcher has selected twelve R & D libraries of Karnataka state and distributed questionnaires for the librarians of these institutes. It discusses the amount spent towards collection of print and E-resources from last five years. Further, the opinion of the librarians towards the impact of ICT on different areas of collection development is discussed. The measures taken to promote E-resources use, services providing by using ICTtools, advantages and disadvantages on the users by implementing ICT, the librarians opinion towards the E-resources collection out dated soon and the problems faced by the librarians while collecting print and E-resources are also covered. Finally, this study lists some of the major findings and fruitful suggestions. |

Abstract : There have been changes in attitude and behaviour of people with disabilities towards library and its services. They expect the best from the library. The best, in the eyes of the people with disabilities, is not reflected by library collection alone. Library should also provide instant and hassle free access to its collection. With the help of Assistive Technology (Adaptive Technology), libraries can provide the people with disabilities a peaceful access to all its information resources. In addition to this, library should make its building disabled friendly to enable the smooth movement of the people with disabilities in the library. In this paper, an attempt is made to understand the expectations of the people with disabilities from library. The results discussed in the paper were obtained from a case study conducted at the Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. The results would help the library managers to plan their library services in tune with the changing needs of the people with disabilities. |

Abstract : Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. It helps one deal with a tense situation in the office, study harder for an exam, and keep focused on an important speech. In general, it helps one cope. But when anxiety becomes an excessive, irrational dread of everyday situations, it has become a disabling disorder. The term anxiety is usually defined as a diffuse, vague, very unpleasant feeling of fear or apprehension Sarason & Sarason, 2007.The study was an effort to measure and its vital role in Academic Achievement of High School Students in high school level students'views about fear of examination. The paper identifies problems and causes of examination test anxiety (fear of examination) among high school level students The findings of the study reported that fear of examination affects the academic performance of the students in the examination and they could not perform according to their knowledge due to fear of examination as they forget the answers of some questions during examination due to nervousness and fear of examination. |

The advantages and disadvantages of e-resources are mentioned with the role of library professionals in the 21st century, as per the changing scenario.
