Abstract : The paper studies the impact of ICT on job satisfaction of the technical staff of seven state funded general university libraries of West Bengal. Respondents were asked to tick against 25 Job satisfaction related statements listed in the questionnaire. Five point Likert scale is used with weightage and mean values are determined for comparison of different parameters of job satisfaction and techno-stress as well. Difference of impact on the basis of gender, age, qualification, experience, and length of time spent on computer are studied. It is found that ICT work environment provide professionals higher level of job satisfaction. However the respondents consider that ICT does not offer better opportunities for professional growth, improvement of social prestige, status or personality. Regarding techno stress, over 50% respondents often suffer from eye problem, back & chest problem, and fatigue. 48.39% respondents feel board to work with computer. 18.33% respondents often experience headache whenever they work with computer. Provision of extensive in-service training and post training incentives, avenues of promotion, comfortable ergonomic design of ICT workstations, improved working conditions, arrangement of periodic health checkup and stress releasing measures are suggested. |

Just as a healthy brain is essential for a healthy human being. a health library is an asset for promotion and advancement of health sciences in a health institute .The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of library and library resources in Mahatma Gandhi Medical College(MGMC). Survey method was used for the study. A sample size of 150 Under -graduate students from the MGMC. Questionnaire was used to collect data. The respondents also showed positive attitude towards the college library. |

Abstract : The present study has been undertaken to investigate information seeking behavior and the level of satisfaction of the faculty members and the students of Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University), New Delhi. For this purpose, a structured questionnaire covering most relevant aspects of the study including frequency of library visit, purpose of information seeking, preferred resources, most preferred search engine, satisfaction level of the users, etc. was distributed among 150 faculty members and 350 students out of which 129 questionnaires from the faculty members and 284 questionnaires from the students were received. The collected data was tabulated in a logical order and conclusions were made based on the analysis and interpretation of the results. |

Abstract : The study gives a basic idea about whether a library instruction program used by the library influences the current or future use of the BPCL Cochin Refinery Special Library. Questionnaire method has been adopted for conducting the survey. Findings reveal that the library instructions are helpful and a combined method of lectures, printed brochures and application of audio-visual methods give the best results in the current and future use of library. |

Abstract : The Defence Research & Development Organisation has come a long way since its modest beginning in 1958. DRDO Laboratories being scattered in different parts of our country, timely availability of information to the scientific personnel is very essential for the research activity. This study aims to investigate the extent of adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) its use and barriers in selected DRDO Technical Information Centres located at Bangalore. Survey method is adopted and questionnaire is distributed among DRDO Technical Information Centres. However interviews and personal visit was made for collection and analysis of relevant data from the Technical Officers of DRDO Technical Information Centres. The result of the survey shows that among ten technical information centres, one technical information centre about to be computerized. The surveyed libraries have good ICT Tools, Infrastructure facilities. Only one library not fully automated and the government should increase the present level of funding to DRDO Technical Information Centres for sustainable adoption of ICT by TIC's. This paper proposes to develop suitable network among DRDO Technical Information Centres for effective resource sharing. |

This production is from the research: social representations of the teaching profession: speeches, papers and (re) production of senses, developed at the University of the State of Bahia-UNEB, Campus VIII between the years 2012 and 2013. Finally, there is the optimisation of the intersubjective discourse aspects and their representations, through discourse analysis, as accessible to subject teaching while productions of his own, emphasizing the autonomy, critical and emancipatory conscience present in these languages used by teachers. |

Abstract : The study was intended to find out the Attitude towards using online library of Higher Secondary Teachers in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu, India. Random Sampling Technique was used to compose a sample of 600 Higher Secondary Teachers. Mean, Standard Deviation and t values were calculated for the analysis of data. The result revealed that the Gender, Locality, Teaching experience had no significant difference but, Teaching subject and Internet users exhibited significant difference in respect of their ICT Intelligence of B.Ed. Trainees. |

Abstract : The use of ICTs in academic community of India are increasing and growing with positive manner. While there is a lot of study on how ICT is used in development of education in a country, there is not much information on how ICT is used by teachers of education.The study examined ICT usages among faculty members in college of education of Panipat region of Haryana. A structural questionnaire was distributed among the faculty members of education in Panipat district to know ICT tools and services usage, place of ICT access, purpose to use, frequency of ICT use, opinion of faculty members on available ICT, and find out the problem while using ICT. The study found that all the faculty members used ICTs i.e. computers, e-mail, internet, telephone and mobile phone in lab, administration block and in their office for academic (93.75%) and develop skills and knowledge (90%). 30% faculty members had good opinion about the availability of ICT in colleges, whereas 55% had no opinion. The analyzed data shows three main problems faced by faculty members while using ICTs i.e. limited access of computer (32.5%), limitation of internet access speed (26.25%) and lack of time (21.25%). |

Abstract : Purpose: The study explores the growth and development of Library and Information Science literature. Methodology: Data for the study was harvested from Library and Information Science Source Database-one of the largest bibliographic indexing and abstracting database service by EBSCO and H.W Wilson that provide coverage on various subjects like Library Automation, Copyright, Classification and cataloguing, Electronic searching and many more. Findings: Core publications (1373, 80.43%) form an integral part of the scholarly literature with academic journals (961, 56.3%) in the lead. Publishers are the main producers with 532 (31.16%) publications. 56.29% of the publications adopt a reviewing policy. Literature published in Library Sciences is growing considerably over decades. Full page PDF image policy is adopted by 1259 (73.23%) publications. Only 242 publications provide image quick view facility. |

Functions and services of public libraries are under the Department of Arts and Culture. There is no separate Directorate for public libraries due to non-implementation of Manipur Public Libraries Act, 1988. But, as a fact, no one has ever achieved the perfect right to education without implementing Public libraries Act in a state or Union Territories in India. A standard Digital Public Library System (DPLS), therefore, is one of the core parts of completing public education in Manipur to solve the problem. |

Abstract : The result of the survey conducted at Matara Regional Centre Computer Lab (MRCCL) to assess purpose of using online learning resources (OLR), pattern of using OLR, to identify special need of the MRC students, use of web base library resources and barriers faced when using OLR by distance learners, are reported here. Aim of the survey was to understand the strength and weaknesses of the online services. The pattern of information seeking behavior from the Internet by the MRC distance learners are also included in the article. The key finding is that highest percentage of computer lab users are from faculty of engineering. The main reason for using the lab was to access to Internet to download information to write assignments and project reports. The most favorite search engine of the MRC distance learners is Google. The main technical barrier to the effective use of OLR by the students included slow internet while main Institutional barrier was non availability of enough computers at MRCCL. The study recommends user training to popularize OLR, adequate infrastructure facilities; relevant recommended OLR on the library web, and to provide user satisfied online resources to distance learners. |

This paper seeks to examine use of ICT Tools and web-based services by 320 teaching faculty in prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh,India.
