Abstract :This study attempts to identify the bibliometric characteristics of the articles published in the various journals from WEB of Knowledge during the study period 1999-2013. Bibliometric analysis use data on numbers and authors of scientific publications and on articles and the citations therein (and in patents) to measure the “output” of individuals/research teams, institutions, and countries, to identify national and international networks, and to map the development of new (multi-disciplinary) fields of science and technology. The results show that the most prolific author is ‘Julien Heidi’ with 21(1.64%) articles and ‘Pinto Maria’ with 19 (1.49%). ‘The continent America ranked first by contributing 690 (52.43%) articles. followed by The Europe continent occupies the second position with 338 (25.68%). Among the key words Appeared in the publications shows that high frequency keywords were “information literacy” is topped with 221(24.07%) publications with followed by next “Information” has scored with 38 (4.13%) publications.

Descriptive methodology has been utilized in this analysis. A complete of 100 questionnaires were distributed however 80 were returned. A structured form was designed for aggregation of information from the chosen sample cluster. The information obtained was analyzed by straightforward grade analysis to come up with tables and to attain conclusion.

Abstract :Purpose: The study aims at presenting a bibliometric analysis of the contributions found in the ‘Malaysian Journal of Library and information science’ during the years 2007-2012. Various bibliometric measures like volume-wise distribution of articles, authorship-pattern, degree of collaboration, reference pattern, range of references, length of papers, the rank list of prolific authors, the ranked list of geographical affiliation of the authors, the subject categories etc are used under this study to fulfil the objectives. Methodology: Necessary data was collected from the MJLIS website by downloading all the issues published from 2007-2012. The data collected was tabulated and analysed using percentage method with the help of MS Excel 2007 Version. Findings: The study reveals that : Year 2011 has the most number of articles i.e. 28 (23.73 %) and the year 2007 has the least number of articles i.e. 14 (11.86 %). Volume 15 Number 1, Volume 16 Numbers 1 and 2 have contributed 10 articles, the maximum for a number.

Abstract :Information is an indispensable for research and development as the air is essential for the survival of all living beings on earth. The pace of change happened with the advent of new information technologies and it has a key effect on people. The increasing role played by information technology in the development of library services is noteworthy. The present paper presents the condition and present situation of private engineering college libraries of Kolkata and attempts to study the impact of IT on library resources and services. The paper also attempts to discuss the fast development of Information Technology and its application in the library services. Today libraries are equipped with the Information Technology based services. Information Technology enabled services fulfill the information needs of the users at the right time in the right place to the right person. From the study, it is evident that IT infrastructure in the private engineering college libraries of Kolkata is still in different stage of development, the status of library automation in these libraries is not encouraging.
