DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF NATURAL FREQUENCY AND MODE SHAPE OF CANTILEVER AND FREE-FREE CONDITION PLATE BY CONSIDERING UNCERTAIN PARAMETERS | Author : Imran Ahemad Khan , G. K. Awari | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : Dynamic analysis of plates has been an important research subject and many technical researches are going on. The plate is made-up of a material may not be perfect it will contain some uncertain parameters. The concept of uncertainty plays an important role in the design of practical mechanical system. So it becomes important to study its effects on mechanical system for different frequency domain. Here in this paper structural element square plate with cantilever and free-free boundary condition is selected on which mass, stiffness and combination of it, uncertainty is taking in account. By using Finite Element Method technique finding out, how plate is dynamically behaves in vibration. During modal analysis natural frequency and mode shapes are finding and compared the response of bare plate and the plate with mass and mass-stiffness combination uncertainty. |
| Static and Bolt Pre Load Analysis of a two stage Air Compressor Connecting rod | Author : Gayathri S. , Dr. Suresh P. M. | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : The reciprocating engine mechanism is widely employed as suitable mechanism for pumps and compressors. The connecting rod is the intermediate member that connects the piston to the crankshaft and is responsible for transferring power from the piston to the crankshaft. In this study, finite element analysis is carried out for the connecting rod using ANSYS 13.0, to evaluate the structural behavior under static load condition. Results obtained from the analysis were then compared with analytical method. The connecting rod used for the static and bold preload analysis was found to be safe, as the maximum stress obtained was much less than allowable strength of material. The maximum tensile stress obtained for the connecting rod from static analysis is 465.22 MPa and the factor of safety is 1.9. The maximum tensile stress obtained for the connecting rod bolts, from static analysis is 405.712 MPa and the factor of safety is 2.4. |
| A Review on Optimization of cutting parameter for Surface Roughness, Material Removal rate and Machining Time of Aluminium LM-26 Alloy | Author : Mr. H. R. Ghan, Prof. S. D. Ambekar | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : In this paper a comprehensive review about various parameters and the production cost of a product. Various parameters affect the manufacturing as well as production cost of a product. It is very important to select optimum parameters for minimum machining costs and maximum machining effectiveness, when metal cutting machine tools are employed. Various parameter like cutting speed, depth of cut and feed require proper setting of various parameter during machining. Production cost of a product can be reduced by using the proper tools and parameters, like machine tools, cutting tools material, tool geometry and cutting parameters. The overall paper gives an idea about how to produce high quality products at relatively low cost and also provides optimization of cutting parameter for surface roughness, material removal rate and machining time of Aluminium Alloy LM-26. |
| A CASE STUDY ON SIGNIFICANCE OF DIE CASTING IN AEROSPACE APPLICATION | Author : M.Sowmya, R.Sahiti, M.Harika, Parthasarathy Garre | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : Die casting is a very old manufacturing process in which implementation of new technology leads to more flexible, innovative and enhanced properties in aerospace applications. This paper contains collection of various aerospace parts like in a military aircraft the infrared system, engine components like front frame, tail rotor gearbox housing, door panel latch housing, ball housing, wheel cover outer and inner hub, piston casting, back plate part, fire sensing part, impeller part, aerospace parts like lens, spacer ring, knob, valve, valve cap, propeller tip, fuel door cover, etc are manufactured by using die casting process and there are a number of die casting processes such as high pressure die casting, low pressure die, gravity die casting and squeeze casting process. The significance of the process and the part to be manufactured depends on various factors like material type and its properties for specific applications. |
