Abstract :Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi supporting the rhizosphere soils of green gram and their relation to some soil physico-chemical characters has been studied. Among the soils have been surveyed, all of them are clay to sandy clay. A total of 24 different AM fungal species belonging to 4 genera i.e. Acaulospora, Gigaspora, Glomus and Sclerocystis were observed. Among the fungi, The 12 Glomus spp. isolated were G. mosseae, G. fasciculatum, G. aggregatum, G .microcarpum, G. clarum, G. intraradices, G. etunicatum, G. multisubstensum, G. epigeum, G. rubiformis, G. reticulatum, G. constrictum, 8 spp. of Acaulospora were A. laevis, A. mallea, A. scrobiculata, A. denticulata, A. lacunosa, A. bireticulata, A. foveata, A. morrawae, 3 spp. of Gigaspora were G. gigantea, G. nigra, G. elegans, and 1 sp. of Sclerocystis was S. sinuosa. G. fasciculatum, G. constrictum, G. clarum, G. intraradices, A. foveata, A. laevis were found to be predominantly occurring in terms of spore density and associating at different time intervals
