This study was planned to determine the general surgical procedures performed in the district state hospital. |

Peripheral facial paralysis |
Author : Khalfaoui S*, El Abbassi EM |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Peripheral facial paralysis causes asymmetry of the face affecting the upper and lower territories. Its management requires the completion of an initial clinical assessment in order to specify the topography, the severity of the involvement, the etiological nature and the possible complications. The knowledge and the mastery of the anatomo-physio-pathological bases makes it possible to understand the different clinical pictures. |

Epicardial adipose tissue in a coronary artery disease patient |
Author : Sibashankar Kar* |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Thick Epicardial Adipose Tissue (EAT) is not always a finding at operation theatre in patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). But epicardial fat has a direct relationship with obesity and metabolic syndrome. Its presence is an independent risk factor for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Intraoperative fi nding is an indicator for post-operative weight reduction and early initiatio pharmaceuticals to prevent progression of native vessel disease. |

Closed removable thread vascular anastomosis stent (Lasheen Vascular Stent) |
Author : Ahmed E Lasheen* |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Background: Vascular anastomosis is a most common and important part of many reconstructive transplant procedures. Venous anastomosis can be done by using coupling devices. In arterial anastomosis still the suture method is the main method, which is time consuming, need much experience, and associated by many complications specially with small arteries (microanastomosis). This study offers new type of stent (Lasheen vascular stent) for vascular anastomosis. |

Cutaneous syncytial myoepithelioma: A potential pitfall in the differential diagnosis of superfi cial dermal tumors |
Author : Erdem Comut* and Nese Calli Demirkan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In the spectrum of myoepithelial tumors of the skin, cutaneous myoepithelioma is composed solely of myoepithelial cells. Cutaneous syncytial myoepithelioma as a rare histological variant of cutaneous myoepithelioma has been fi rst described in the last decade. This tumor is benign and rarely shows recurrence when incompletely resected. In addition to its distinctive common histological and immunohistochemical features, cutaneous syncytial myoepithelioma shares the same changes for most cases in molecular testing (EWS RNA binding protein 1 gene rearrangement). The differential diagnosis of other superfi cial dermal tumors is one of the major diffi culties in the diagnosis of this tumor. In the current study, we present our fi ndings of a 56 year-old woman who was diagnosed as cutaneous syncytial myoepithelioma. |
