Abstract :Livelihood patterns of youth are highly imperative in developing policies and services that are appropriate and effective especially as far as rural youth are concerned. This is because young people are the life wire of every nation. In rural communities, youth are the future of agricultural and rural development and therefore the perception of youth as restive and problematic should be de-emphasized. Rather the positive and dynamic capacities of youth should be used in finding solution to the problems confronting rural communities. A study of youth living patterns will be a good take off for developing policies and programmes that take into consideration the ambition and initiatives of youth.
