Author : Sachin Sharma ,Dr. Vikas Singla |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The purpose of this paper is to investigate the applicability of Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
in leading automotive parts manufacturing organization of Haryana using personal
interviews, secondary data and observations. The current state map was developed for
Maruti Suzuki emblem after making necessary observations and calculations. Then various
improvement proposals had been identified based on Lean manufacturing theories and the
future state map was developed. After preliminary study on manufacturing process it was
apparent that plating line was having more defects and had rejection percentage rate of
about 12%. Root cause analysis (RCA) was applied to identify relevant causes of significant
rejection rate by using tools such as Pareto chart, cause and effect diagram and Why-Why
Analysis. The outcome of project was reduction in overall rejection rate in plating process of
Emblem Maruti Suzuki from 12% to 4.8% and thus leading to improvement in productivity of
plating line |

organizational commitment in the context of insurance sector in Punjab. In order to study the
impact on organizational commitment; five conflict management modes, namely
accommodating, compromising, competing, avoiding, collaborating; and two leadership

were found fit for analysis, whereas, the others were not included in the analysis because of
lack of proper information. The data was analyzed by using Karl Pearson’s correlation and
regression analysis and by applying MS- Excel (2007) and SPSS (21.0). The results of the
study have demonstrated that the overall impact of leadership styles and conflict
management styles on organizational commitment is positive and significant; however,
avoiding conflict management and transactional leadership style have insignificant impact

Integrated Solid Waste Management: A System Approach |
Author : Sadhna Kumari , Prof. S.K. Sharma |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Increasing generation rate of waste became a challenging issue for many countries in the
world. Need for sustainable waste management is inevitable because climate change and
environmental degradation is associated with it. Globally, there is a pressing need for
sustainability and minimum utilization of resources. Waste creation is an indispensable part
of every human society. In inception, motivation behind the solid waste management is to
decrease the hazard to public health and later the environmental attention turned into a
fundamental concentration of SWM. In 1996 the United Nations Environmental Programme
(UNEP) explained ‘integrated waste management’ as ‘a framework of reference for
designing and implementing new waste management systems and for analysing and
optimising existing systems’. It is a challenging process to develop and implement
sustainable solid waste management in developing countries. Integrated waste management
approach is based on 3R approach (reduce, reuse and recycle). In current scenario, various
material and energy recovery technologies are developed and incorporated in present
framework. Sustainability improves if waste management is integrated to other system. The
information provided by this article is very important for planning and implementing waste
management system in cities.

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Inspite of huge hue and cry against its implementation, India has finally succeeded in
introducing a smart taxation reform named Goods and Services tax which is going to bring

research paper throws an insight into vital and game changing role played by Input tax
credit in GST era. Further the paper has analyzed the ITC settlement procedure along with
the conditions for claiming the same so as to show its worth in making GST a taxpayerfriendly tax. Finally the study exhibit the detailed impact of ITC on entire supply chain,
